Scott's One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating has been providing heating and AC installation, maintenance and repair services in Tampa, FL and across Hillsborough County since 1989....

Worst

Any company that won't itemize -- show parts and labor costs -- has got problems to start off with. This used to be Scott's AC but the name change and I wonder why. The prices are...

Not too happy with this company. I had a complete system including ducts installed. They sent Bubba and Goober to do the work. Very shabby with lots of mistakes. Their manager could use some basic training in customer service. He seems either incompetent or just doesn't care.\r I am having to hire another company to go over the installation and document all the things wrong. U-Win is going to hear about this. I wonder is Scott Vigue even has a clue his name is associated with incompetent work. more

Im sending this email to let you know how very disappointed, with one hour heating and Air conditioning,I purchased a unit from you 2 years ago, Since purchasing this unit.. i have had you guys come out at least 6 times.. since the unit has been purchased, due to a freon leak!.. I have received apology after apology and the unit still isn't fixed.. I also just purchased a hot water heater s thru benjiman franklin, which i found out later that you also own that company\r if i had knew at the time that it was the same company i would have not purchased it.\r I called last week to complain of the same problem again. with the unit. as i talked to the person on the phone they informed me that\r i would have pay a 79.oo dollar charge! for him to come out, for the same problem. i told the person on the phone that i refuse to pay it! \r due to it's a recurring problem, he then stats , that it's up to the technician. I work 3rd shift , so out of the 6times maybe more.? i have to\r stay up waiting for a tech to come out! I told a couple of people about this, and everyone says i should seek legal actions.. i do not want\r to have to take it to that level.. but if my unit is not fixed or replaced , i have no other choice.. i do not want any more apologizes i just want\r my unit fixed! i called one day after the last vist. and was told that i already had an appointment scheduled for today! so on top of that\r i was told that i would have to wait 5 days! for him to come back out since i had an appointment. the tech told me when he left if there's\r anymore problems before that to call! (why call if it wasn't going to do any good) . I had To go 5 extra days with No Air, With family visiting,\r So today im going to have to stay awake again.. for him to fill up the freon or try to find the leak.. Im, tired and Frustrated!!\r P.s i forgot to mention that 2 days after the unit was installed that it broke down.. that was the first episode.. look at the history\r please..(2nd time the tech had the nerve to tell me he's not going to charge me this time.. THIS Time?\r more

So you guys like to sell new air conditioners. As the guy that came here said, you have a leak, and I said Where and he said I don't know, but I can charge the unit for $516. with no guarantee. Or I can call the office and see what cost is for new unit. I told him I would get another opinion, which I did. $300.00 later the leak was found, the unit charged by Carson Rock A/C and Refrigeration. The leak was in the dryer, right out there by the unit outside, obviously rusted out and I could see the bubbles when Carson sprayed water on it. Now, who would you call? Scotts One Hour Air are a bunch of Con Artists. more

DO NOT USE! WAY OVERPRICED! NOT TRUTHFUL ABOUT SERVICES NEEDED! BEWARE! Company visited my home to repair AC unit. I knew exactly what issue was. Small $30 part replaced and freon added. They told me they had to completly tear down my unit and rebuild. $2000 minimum. Tried to sucker me into their ""tiered"" pricing as a so called ""non-member"". Then suggested I would be better off getting a new updated AC system starting at $5000. Had another company come out and fix. $350.00. One Hour Air tried to take advantage of me thinking I did not know anything about AC systems. Unfortunately for them I do. If you do not know about AC units please do yourself a favor and use someone else. While they do have technical systems knowledge they also seem to have been trained in the art of high pressure sale tactics. more

WAY OVERPRICED - AC was out 90 degrees 5/26/2012

WAY OVERPRICED - AC was out 90 degrees in the house. Gave them a call, $69 service fee, not bad. I basically knew what the problem was before he showed up. Run Cap on compress was bad. I Googled it and found the part for $11. I just wanted it fixed quickly because I have a newborn sweating at home. Technician came out and did an inspection and came up with a list of problems totaling over $3000. For that price I could replace the whole outside unit. They have this stupid pricing tier system. Tier 1 = $184 for every part they clean or adjust. Tier 2 = $341 for every minor part they repair, replace or install. And it goes up from there $516 / $841 / $1371 So I told the tech to just replace the Run Cap and Start Kit ($341 X 2 = $682). It took him 10 minutes to do the job. How hard is it to pull off a few wires that have connectors and plug in the new part? If you can change batteries in a flash light you could do this job. Then they try to sell you on this protection plan for $250/year so I can save $100 on this bill. I don't think so. After I payed the $712 bill the tech tells me you are a pound low on Freon. I ask how much? That's a tier 2 service $341. I then basically told him to get out!!! I let everyone I know to stay away from these guys. more

BEWARE THESE GUYS ARE CON ARTISTS 9/22/2011

I just wanted to warn our community at that this company comes on strong and seems very nice ....at first. But be warned they are very skilled snake oil salesmen who use manipulative techniques. Do not purchase an airconditioning system from this company unless you are ready for years of torture. Every maintenance visit (that is MANDATORY to keep your systems warranty valid) becomes a new selling opportunity for ""upgrades"" that should have been included in the high price paid upfront. This company's only goal is to separate you from your money.... over & over again. You pay 3 or 4 times more for your system to begin with and then every time they come to your home for their maintenance visits or one of their ""precision tune ups"" be prepared to open up your wallet....no there probably won't be enough money in your wallet ...be prepared to open up ALL of your bank accounts ! Using this company was the WORST mistake of my LIFE. BEWARE! more
