WAY OVERPRICED - AC was out 90 degrees in the house. Gave them a call, $69 service fee, not bad.
I basically knew what the problem was before he showed up. Run Cap on compress was bad. I Googled it and found the part for $11. I just wanted it fixed quickly because I have a newborn sweating at home.
Technician came out and did an inspection and came up with a list of problems totaling over $3000. For that price I could replace the whole outside unit.
They have this stupid pricing tier system.
Tier 1 = $184 for every part they clean or adjust.
Tier 2 = $341 for every minor part they repair, replace or install.
And it goes up from there $516 / $841 / $1371
So I told the tech to just replace the Run Cap and Start Kit ($341 X 2 = $682).
It took him 10 minutes to do the job.
How hard is it to pull off a few wires that have connectors and plug in the new part? If you can change batteries in a flash light you could do this job.
Then they try to sell you on this protection plan for $250/year so I can save $100 on this bill. I don't think so.
After I payed the $712 bill the tech tells me you are a pound low on Freon. I ask how much? That's a tier 2 service $341. I then basically told him to get out!!!
I let everyone I know to stay away from these guys.
