My daughter and I ate here before the ballet at the Keller Auditorium. It was close and we love steak, so thought it a good choice. We loved the presentation of the food, however ...

During my most recent visit, I found myself unimpressed. I agree with an earlier poster who complained that they lack appropriate silverware -- I do not understand why we are exp...

Sleazy Valet Service 7/27/2004

The food and service was wonderful. The valet guys were downright weird. We parked in a city spot early on a Sunday with the restaurant more than half empty. Part way through our pre-dinner drinks the valet parking guy came to our table and insisted he had to move our car. We gave him the key, but wondered whya valet should move a car in public parking place. When we left, our car was in front of the restaurant (about 30 feet from where we originionally parked it, that slot remained empty). We thanked the valet guy and offered him a tip. He took the tip and then requested a $7 valet fixed fee. So we paid. It wasn't about the money - it was more about what felt like a scam. Pros: Good Food, Excellent service more

Morton's 7/2/2003

The Best Morton's out of three I've been to (Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.). Others are fine too. Their manager came over to greet us and offered a round of drinks on the house, waiter was available exactly when we needed him, etc. Strongly recommend this place. more

Worth a splurge 6/3/2003

Don't be lisguided by a low review you might see on this page. Morton's was first calss all the way-- a great place to go before the show (like we did) and a great meal with wonderful service. The shrimp Alexander are great as are the steaks and prime rib. Pros: classy, great service, great food Cons: expensive more

low rating are complete bull... 2/14/2003

This steakhouse is intended to be loud, crowded and expensive. It is perfect. It sounds to me like a lot of reviewers need to find out what medium rare is vs. medium. The service should not be based on the delivery of the food, but the attentiveness of your two waiters. When I go to Morton's I plan on spending at least 1 1/2 hours there. I think the low reviews may be a problem with your company holding a conversation for an hour and a half. Have a Manhattan and relax. more

bad night 1/13/2003

My wife and I had the worst steak in the last 20 years. It was the first time had had eaten at Morton's. I got a gift certificate for christmas from a friend and so we had a christmas time steak dinner. It must a have been an off night for the cook because it was way over cooked and the second steak that came was also over cooked. Sorry but this is the truth. Pros: nice setting Cons: bad food more

Full Review 12/30/2002

I made it a quest to visit as many of America's top steak houses as possible, Mortons ranks in the very upper echelon. Favorites are The Cajun Ribeye and the house version of the New York Strip. Their Filet Oscar was the only one that wasn't up to par. The sides are where they shine: Hash browns, potato Lyonaise, creamed and sautéed spinach, and wild mushrooms are highly recommended. Pass on the chocolate soufflé, as it's all egg and little chocolate, but go for the Godiva chocolate cake. The bread is wonderful, and so is the service. Those who complain spending so much for a steak: don't have steak. Pros: Cajun ribeye, Godiva cake, potato sides Cons: Steak Oscar, chocolate souffle more

So much to say, so little space. This is the best place I have ever been for steak. The portions are enormous. Has a very cozy atmosphere, very romantic! I would deffinately recommend for an anniversary dinner or proposing more

YUMMMMMMMMM!!!!! 8/1/2002

MORTONS CONTINUES TO BE MY FAVORITE PLACE FOR STEAK. WE ARRIVE EARLY FOR A COCKTAIL AND A CIGAR IN THE LOUNGE. WE THEN GO TO THE RESTAURANT FOR THE YUMMIEST FILET MIGNON (MY FAVORITE...MY HUSBAND ALWAYS GETS FISH OR CHICKEN) IN PORTLAND. THE CREAMED SPINACH IS THE BEST!!! WE NEVER HAVE ROOM FOR ALL THAT WE ORDER BECAUSE THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE. ONE ORDER OF SPINACH IS PLENTY FOR BOTH OF US, PLUS!!! GO TO MORTONS AND HAVE A GREAT TIME. WE ONLY GET THERE EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE...SO I WISH WE COULD COME WITH YOU!!!!! Pros: STEAK!!!!, CREAMED SPINACH, CIGAR BAR!!!! more

Mouth-watering Beef 7/2/2002

My boyfriend and I visited Morton's recently and were not disappointed. It was the best steak I've ever had in my life... and I grew up in beef country with steakhouses on every corner. Great food, exceptional service. It's expensive but the quality is fantastic. Of course, when we went, it was a ""present"" from my boyfriend's employer so we enjoyed it even more! more
