Mighty Maids-Mighty Men

They were late and slow! I worked head to head with 2 cleaning ladies to speed up the process since I noticed that they will not be done in time frame I planed for cleaning. I had them for 3 hours which means 6 hours of cleaning time. They had to clean a kitchen, 2 bathrooms and the livingroom floors and windows. They bearly finished kitchen in the end of the secon hour. I asked them to move on to bathrooms which they "cleaned" in next 20 min so they can be done with it and go home. In the meanwhile I CLEANED THE FLOORS and had to go over the windowes because they were not clean enough. I was so upset that I just wanted them out. I will never, EVER call this service again! more

I like the service. I like the care that the cleaner takes with our rugs and wood furniture, and the way the place feels when she leaves. (And I like the price - for bi-weekly maintenance, this service is very good value - and that no contract is required.) To start, I tried three companies to find this one, then three times before I found a single cleaner whose work I liked. Like dry cleaners -- it's a relationship! Language barriers: If there is a problem, Hendrika calls her office and they tell me what she needs. Twice in six months, there was confusion with the office about starting time, which was fixed. I have used Mighty Maids-Mighty Men for years. The service is thorough and reliable. There are times when I don?t get to ?pick-up? before the maid comes and still they are able to leave my house looking great. I also have a condo that I rent out and they do an excellent job preparing the apartment for my next tenant. When my house flooded, the owner came out and assessed the situation. She was thoroughly knowledgeable in what needed to be done to minimize the damage and prevent further damage. Her team of men worked quickly and efficiently to address the problem. I have been extremely pleased with the service received from Mighty Maids-Mighty Men and would highly recommend them. Pros: Excellent Service more

We have been using this service for many years on a regular basis (every two weeks.) The maids show up on time are reliable and do a great job -- both cleaning thoroughly and tidying up well. They do a great job of managing lots of loose stuff that's always around our house. I walk in the door after a cleaning and it always looks great. If there ever is an issue, just call the office and they will address it right away. Also, the Mighty Men (a team of men for bigger jobs) are fantastic. Very fast, pleasant and thorough. A great deal for the results you get. We sometimes use them for special situations that come up (wash the walls, windows and deep cleaning before a special event.) and/or have them come about twice a year for a deep cleaning. I have never had a problem with them and used them for 3 years. They always arrive on time and I only need two rooms cleaned, the bathroom and the kitchen. The women have always been Polish or Eastern European. The last time I used them about 3 months ago, the cleaning wasn't as sparkling as before, but I'm happy to have someone tackle what I don't want to do. It's possible that management or ownership has changed. I have an apptment on 11/29 and will report back if I see a change. in 2008 the rate was $20/hr. I have never been treated so poorly from any service related company in my life. My boyfriend had a standing contract with another agency and I cancelled it to try this one, due to the coupon in the yellow pages. On a recent occasion, I brought it to the attention of the manager and owner that a particular cleaning job left counters dirty, shelves dusty, floors unswept and cleaning supplies left strewn around the condo. I was told that someone would be back to redo the job the next day, I even had a manager come by to survey the work and she agreed that it was terrible. I left the next day and the bookeeper confirmed that a maid would be by and would lock up behind her. Not only did she not come to fix the job but the owner never returned my calls. I have left 4 messages as of recent and still havent heard back. What is odd is that they insisted on fixing the job and the owner told me that she wanted to make sure all work was reflective on her reputation and they went and did the exact opposite! I will never use this company again. more

I am a little suprised by the reviews I have read, I guess it proves people can change when given the chance. I was in a bind and I need my apartment I was moving into cleaned as the landlord had not had it done by his normal cleaners. When I called the phone was promptly answered and the staff explained that there was a 4 hour minimum for the service I needed. They told me that it could take more time depending on the condition of the unit and that I could provide my own supplies or they could provide them for an additional charge. After indicating a time that the cleaners were available I set up an appointment. The guys that clean my place were friendly, professional, and detailled. They cleaned my place in a little over 4 hours and provided all of the materials needs to complete the job. I was SAVED by their services and would recommend them to anyone needing their home cleaned. Pros: Detailled Service-They know how to clean and they do it well! Cons: The price is not a flat rate but you pay for what you get! more

I left a message and they called me back the next day.The maid was on time, brought her own supplies,cleaned very thoroughly and left the key when she was finished. The service she performed was just as advertised and I was very pleased. Pros: On time, very thorough, no problems at all. Cons: Was a bit more expensive then some services - but worth it more

I have never been treated so rudely in my life, especially when it comes to a business such as this. Customer service should be number 1! In more than one call I was hung up on and put on hold mid-sentence, this was when I was asking for inforamtion, I had not even hired them yet. Today on the phone, I has asked the company to check on a personal item as it was very inportant to me and what the policy was for stollen property. This personal item had been moved and tampered with, so you can imagine my concern. The management basically said that it had been moved at my request (not true) ant that I should not be so quick to point fingers and accuse someone of stealing... I had simply asked about a policy, is that wrong? more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Called them up and dropped off keys. They told me that they would spend 4 hours and clean the whole apartment, windows, oven, fridge. I have a one bedroom and it was completely empty because I was moving in. I thought 4 hours would be too much time for my small apartment but I went ahead. I went back to my place to start moving in and I am 100 percent positive that they never showed up at all. They said they did but there is no chance they cleaned for more than 15 minutes. I would never waste your money or time and they should be reported. My apartment was empty. How hard is it to clean a empty apartment. This service is a joke and should be out of business. We had a great experience with them. When I called, they made an appointment within 48 hours for us. The place was a disaster before they came since the last tenants left it filthy. Our cleaner was Edyta and she was fabulous. She arrived on time and cleaned our apartment top to bottom! more

I have been a client of this company for years. I have had minor issues - occasional inconsistent cleaning or scheduling mistakes on their part, but felt comfortable enough. My usual maid went on a vacation and a substitute came. There were many strange things, for example, flat drying bath towels, but I was shocked to find a large bag of my dry cleaning missing. I called to see what the issue was and the woman gave me several disjointed excuses, none of which added up. She said the woman took my clothes (They were in a shopping bag, not a garbage bag.) home with her so that she could throw them away. Then she said that the maid couldn't believe that anyone would throw clothes away, so she was going to give them to charity. She also criticized the maids saying, "I guess I'm just too American. I don't know why these women do dumb things." I was so upset and didn't want to engage in a "raised voice altercation" that I said, "I prefer not to talk, let's talk tomorrow." When I called the next day, I explained that I would need to file a police report as 100s of dollars of garments were taken and yet to be returned, she started yelling at me excusing me of threatening her. I explained that is wasn't a threat, but what else does someone do when things have been taken from a home and not returned? Plan A was to just get all of the items back. My insurance company would require a police report! She took it very personally and went on and on about how she was in law enforcement, blah, blah, blah. All I could think is, "Hey, this isn't personal. You're running a business and one of your employees took my stuff. Let's take care of it." She continued to rant and rave and not even give me the opportunity to speak. Later I spoke to someone else and they were very nice and professional. Had I only dealt with her, this all could have been worked out, but I won't do business with someone who screams at a customer who has had her possessions taken from her home. I was surprised by the other reviews about Mighty Maids-Mighty Men's service. We recently used them for a post-construction cleaning job on our house - the men worked hard, did a very thorough job and even cleaned areas we hadn't asked or thought of. We were very pleased with their work. more

On a Tuesday night I called to schedule an appointment for Saturday morning. Wednesday morning I called to cancel the service because we were going to be out of town unexpectedly. The lady who answered said that was fine and if I was in need of service in the future she'd be happy to help. I just got my credit card bill for $120!!!!!!!!! There was no mention of a cancellation policy and over 72 hours is plenty of notice, expecially when the reservations were made 12 hours earlier. They have not returned any of my calls since I received the bill. Even if they end up dropping the charge (which they should), it doesn't change the fact that they are not competent enough to cancel the charge when the service is cancelled. I will NEVER use them. I'm a Realtor who keeps many services on retention for clients. I needed a cleaning service before an open house. I called Mighty Maids for a client of mine, talked to the dispatcher, and requested specifically windows be cleaned, floors etc. I was assured that these services would be completed. The house cleaner arrived tired. She sluggishly cleaned my apartment for the next 5 hours. At the five hour mark, I told her to stop. I live in a 2bedroom- 2ba apartment. Only one bd/ba was finished. Meanwhile she made a mess of the laundry room and left a load of laundry down there. Also she took a soda out of the refrig without asking. I called twice to talk with the supervisor- he never called me back. more
