I went to Mercer Kitchen with a friend and was positively surprised when we entered the restaurant. It is a beautiful setting, very trendy and yet very warm. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up too the exceptations. The food was, overall, not so good. I had the squid first, my friend the tomatosoup, and you would think that it's not that hard to do that right, and yet it just wasn't that good. Then we had the salmon, and the roast chicken, and the salmon was okay, the chicken was okay, but the mashed potatoes were really salty, the vegetables were hard, it just wasn't good enought. The staff was friendly, but not that friendly, and overall, it was disappointing. There are worse restaurants out there, definitely, but this surely isn't one of the best either.
