Service was great, staff is incredibly pleasant. But when I went to have a crown put it I was not prepared for the very high price of it! I was never told of any cost beforehand...

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/1/2013

Dr. Andrew's is by far the best dentist I have ever been too. He fixed a crown (awful) that I had done by another dentist and did better than I could have ever imagined. He didn't have much left to work with, since the other dentist quickly hacked me up, took money and sent me home crying for weeks. I love my smile, and now I'm not self conscious about showing it off again. I have moved 45 minutes way, but will never go to anyone else. He takes his time, makes sure it's perfect and that you are happy. Thanks Dr.A! more

Letter From Patient 7/11/2011

Hi Dr. Andrews Practice,\r \r I just wanted to jot you a short note. Considering all that we did today for my dental health with multiple fillings and icon treatment, I was astonished to be at the top of my game from the time I got home until right now, just signing off my work day, with no discernible pain or significant after effects. \r \r You are all - Dr. Mark, Allie, Haley and Karen - just the best practice there is. You're worth every penny, and you should be proud of that.\r \r Thanks for a great experience and sparkling results!\r \r \r \r -Steve H\r more

Above and Beyond Expectations 3/9/2011

Dr. Andrews and his staff have gone above and beyond my expectations. At my previous dentist office they did not file my dental insurance and it was becoming a hassle to deal with (among a few other things). Thankfully I was referred by a friend of mine to Dr. Andrews. With my experience doing my own insurance I noticed that my insurance seemed to even pay better at Dr. Andrews office. Either way, a $10 co-payment is well worth it! I have been very impressed with their hygienist who is very gentle and nice; my teeth always feel GREAT when I leave there. more

Great office! 10/6/2010

Since my first visit, I have felt confident in my decision to allow Dr. Andrews and his staff to be my family dentist. Dr. Andrews is especially nice and practical, he allows me to be a part of my own treatment planning. I haven't had much dental work in the past, but I did have one crown that just never felt right. Dr. Andrews was able to figure out what was causing my problem, and now I can say my mouth finally feels good! My kids really enjoy going to see him and his hygienist. If you are looking for a family dentist I would recommend this office, we are 110% happy. more

So happy I found Dr. Andrews 5/21/2010

If you are considering having veneers constructed for you, please take a moment and read my story. I had veneers put on approximately 7 years ago by my regular dentist in Cary. Unfortunately, because he had been my dentist for many years, I did not fully research the process or question his techniques. I had my dentist put the veneers on and I have to say I was unhappy with them from the beginning. They were too long, too white, too big for my mouth, and looked like one big mass of porcelain. I was self-conscious of them every day and learned to smile with my mouth closed as much as possible. I longed to have my old teeth back, especially after learning I was starting to develop decay underneath one of the veneers. \r \r After many years of hating my smile, I contacted Dr. Andrews to ask him if anything could be done to correct my situation. Dr. Andrews spent a tremendous amount of time talking with me and reassuring me that he could help me. He thoroughly explained his process of fitting, constructing, and delivering veneers. He explained that I would be involved in each step of the process, so that by the time the veneers were put on, I would already have a good idea of what the final result would look like. He also took photographs of my teeth and my face so we could discuss what I wanted and he also sent these pictures to his ceramist, so he would know my concerns. His ceramist, by the way, is excellent and makes the veneers look very realistic. I recently had my new veneers put on and I am so impressed with the results. I finally feel like myself again and wish so badly I had not waited so long to have my veneers redone. \r \r Yes, Dr. Andrews is more expensive, but believe me, it is worth it, and you truly get what you pay for. You can have veneers put on less expensively, but if they have to be redone in the future because they are ill-fitting, look extremely fake, or don’t fit your mouth and face, you’ll end up paying way more in the end. Please learn from my mistake and talk to Dr. Andrews before you decide about veneers. He and his staff are warm and welcoming and genuinely care about the patient’s satisfaction. \r Pros: Perfectionist, great staff more

Satisfied Patient 5/4/2010

I am a very satisfied patient. I have been waiting to write a review until my work was complete. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences at Dr. Andrews office, and that is saying a lot for the dentist. I really appreciate the one on one attention, I remember when I left my first appointment I could actually remember what the doctor looked like. My past experiences I don't recall seeing the doctor for more then 2 minutes while he poked around. I had been going to the same doctor for 5 years cleaning and check up every 6 months.... ""looks good"" he said every time. I starting seeing, and feeling things with my teeth that didn't seem healthy, I asked my previous doctor, and he was going to keep ""an eye"" on things. Well, I travel a lot and I don't need something happening while I'm out of the country....(scary) I like to be pro-active. Long story short I found Dr. Andrews-- First, I thought it was great when I emailed to set up an appointment it was on a Saturday, thinking they would call me on Monday. I got an email from the doctor himself, letting me know he got my email and they would call me first thing. It was great knowing that I could have access to my dentist like that. So far that has been very consistent with follow up questions. I went in for my exam, without saying anything, Dr. Andrews hit the nail on the head with everything that was concerning me. Since then he has addressed my concerns, and my teeth feel healthy and I am more confident in my health than ever. I would recommend Dr. Andrews to anyone I would come in contact with. Pros: One on One attention Cons: bring a sweater...bur ;-) Yet, they do have warm blankets more

So far, so good. 4/12/2010

I have been impressed with Dr. Andrews and his practice. He takes time to work slowly and efficiently while trying to ignore distractions. He has given me the highest level of detail regarding my teeth and their downfalls. He has also been more than willing to answer my questions thoroughly and ease any concerns I may have. Likewise, Dr. Andrews will also show any evidence of work needing to be done to ease the patient and ensure them that it's in their best interests. Dr. Andrews will first provide a comprehensive evaluation of your mouth on your first visit. Afterwards, the staff will take x-rays. Dr. Andrews will then review the x-rays and have a personal consultation with you to go over the results from the x-rays and answer any questions of concern. Around this time, the staff will also take high-resolution photographs of your mouth to show you an up-close look of your current teeth. If your teeth are banged up (like mine!), then he will start a plan for restorative treatment. While in this consultation, make sure to let Dr. Andrews know what you are looking to achieve. If you want to keep a healthy mouth, but ignore aesthetics, be up front about it. He understands that budgets are tight and achieving perfect teeth cannot be accomplished by all. With that said, please understand that his fees are not cheap. Depending upon the amount of work needed, you can max out your insurance rather quickly. Crowns will cost you about $1500 a tooth, with a prior build-up running you $500. If these costs are too much, but the work is vital to your health, Dr. Andrews does provide financing plans with various payment options to best suit your needs. After having some work done, although the costs are high, I feel that the quality of work done has been a proper trade-off. They are your teeth and they will be with you for as long as you live. Spending more money early on to save you from higher expenses down the road just makes sense. Just ensure that you do it within your budget and you stay within your means. Although your health is obviously the most important thing, being able to successfully manage the costs associated with treatment is just as important. Pros: High level of detail, personable, knowledgeable in sports Cons: Costs can be high for some more

Great for the Whole Family! 10/21/2009

My family and I just moved from Minnesota in the last few months, and I didn't think we would need to find a dentist so quickly, but my daughter chipped her front two teeth in the playground at school. I am grateful to have discovered Dr. Andrews. He was able to fix my daughters teeth without traumatizing her and they look so good I find myself forgetting it ever happened. I personally am not a fan of going to the dentist, but he we so gentle and caring with my daughter that I thought ""hey this isn't so scary!"" I made an appointment for my husband, myself, and my son. We are so thrilled to have found such a wonderful family dentist! more

Exceptional dental care - personal and high-quality 10/7/2009

While it is often difficult to write glowing reviews about most dental experiences, an exception must be made for folks at Dr. Andrews' office. Years ago I asked for a recommendation for a dentist because I felt as if I were being rushed and was unable to get an appointment at another, and the recommendation to visit Dr. Andrews has turned out to be one of the best professional recommendations I've ever received. I find each visit to Dr. Andrews' office to be low-stress, accommodating, and worth the time. Dr. Andrews has found a way to create an environment in which one feels as if they should take pride in their dental health and also the aesthetic appearance. The office staff is small and this lends itself well to a familiar, personalized atmosphere. On no occasion at all have I felt rushed, and more importantly I've never felt as if Dr. Andrews was looking for an unnecessary problem to solve. Though I've been unfortunate enough to have to make several visits over the past few years to address some dental issues, I've been equally as fortunate to have found a provider that has been so kind, professional, and competent as Dr. Andrews and his staff have been. In fact, I now drive over an hour one-way to the office after having moved, and would not consider changing providers. I give my highest recommendation to Dr. Andrews and his staff. Pros: Personalized care, competence, personality, office staff more

Peace of Mind 10/6/2009

I have just recently joined Dr. Andrews practice a few months ago. I was having some constant pain in the top right area of my mouth, and my past dentist could not figure it out, after 5 different visits...Ugh! I was referred by a colleague of mine to see Dr. Andrews. She told me she never has had any discomfort with her appointments before during or after. At first I thought she was bluffing. I went anyway because at that point I felt helpless with the pain I was having and still no answer. My first appointment at Dr. Andrews office was very inviting, extremely informative, and best of all I got an answer...yay! Not only did I get an answer for the problem I was having, I got a solution!! Today I still have no more pain :-D. I am very happy I was referred to Dr. Andrews and I now have the peace of mind that when I have my exam, I will be informed of my dental health, and should something happen I feel comfort in knowing I have a great dentist close by. Pros: Painless, Caring, Very professional more

New to the Cary area looking for an excellent dentist 9/1/2009

I don't often post reviews online but after recently relocating to the Cary area and visiting Dr. Andrews I felt the need to share my experience. Hands down, the best dentist I have ever been to and I have been to many. I read a couple of reviews on here saying that Dr. Andrews was expensive and being ""pushy"" about work that wasn't truly needed. I had the complete opposite experience. Perhaps those individuals are a little sensitive to being told things they don't want to hear. Personally, I appreciated the one-on-one time he spent with me on ways to improve my smile and keep it healthy. \r \r In the end Dr. Andrews replaced crowns on my two front teeth that were done poorly years prior by another dentist as well as four veneers. I agree, it is expensive and at times I needed reassuring that I was making a good decision moving forward with getting the work re-done. I know Dr. Andrews did other things to help improve my smile that I didn't pay for but I wouldn't begin to know the time or investment he made. Having crowns and veneers done on your six front teeth is an extensive time commitment and at times uncomfortable and painful. I was very impressed with Dr. Andrews's ability to make me feel comfortable, like I was in good hands. His staff is amazing and they always make me feel like they have my best interest in mind. Specifically I spent hours and hours in the chair with Dr. Andrews and his assistant Allie by his side. They kept me entertained and helped my get through a difficult time.\r \r I recommend Dr. Andrews. You get what you pay for and in the end I was blown away with the quality, care and most importantly my SMILE! I broke my front teeth in an accident when I was thirteen, this was the first time I thought….these could have been my natural teeth. They look perfect. It really does improve your quality of life because I don't think twice about smiling big, taking pictures, laughing….anything really. I recommend Dr. Andrews you won't be disappointed. \r Pros: Quality work, good communicator, gentle, very skilled more

Very Satisfied Patient 8/31/2009

I had my first dental appointment with Dr. Andrews last Thursday, and I am soooo pleased with their practice I had to share my experience with my fellow city searchers. Dr. Andrews and his staff were so personable, I felt like I was visiting family members. I was very impressed with the detailed exam, where they took photographs that allowed me to view my teeth in a way I have never been able to see them. I appreciated the time that was taken to answer all of my questions. I look forward to future appointments with Dr. Andrews, and that's saying a lot for the dentist. Pros: Genuine, Personable, State of the art office more

Great Family Dentist wouldn't go anywhere else! 8/3/2009

I have just completed my last phase of restorative treatment with Dr. Andrews and each time has been a very pleasant experience. I am always presented with a friendly smile, and a warm blanket to keep me comfy. I used to be terrified of needles and to date getting anesthetic is a breeze, NO PAIN at all! My whole family goes to Dr. Andrews now, and most of my neighbors! Everyone I know who is also a patient is very happy with this practice. If you have had a bad experience somewhere else, give dental work a second chance with Dr. Andrews, nothing he has done hurts, everything feels great. Thanks Dr. A! Pros: Friendly staff, Comfortable office, No Pain! more

Great Doctor, No Pain, Very Comfortable 5/18/2009

My dentist is Doctor Mark Andrews in Cary, North Carolina. I have lived in many different communities and have been treated by many dentists. Of all the dentists who have worked on my teeth, Doctor Andrews has the best technique by far in administering anesthesia. It does not hurt! He is always concerned about my comfort and checks frequently to be sure I am not in pain. His hygienist also does not hurt me when cleaning my teeth. This is important to me. I am grateful for his professional approach in my care. He explains what needs to be done, and listens to any concerns I might have before beginning work. I am delighted with my ""new"" smile, and would certainly recommend him to all my friends and family. Pros: Painless, Personable Doctor & Staff more

Run away... far far away! 5/12/2009

I have to be honest. I do not ever write reviews online. I truly felt compelled to do so after my visit with this dentist. Please think twice about going to this dentist. I have too many negative things to say so I'll leave it at that. I know of a few people who have also tried this dentist out and never went back. Between the ridiculous prices and long list of things that he says you MUST get done its crazy. I just needed a filling repaired. I went to another dentist who took care of it right away and didnt make me go through what Dr. Andrews did. I had to get an exam, tons of xrays, watch some video in his office about dentistry, and get a cleaning before he would even look in my mouth. Then I had to pay for my many xrays so I could take them to my much more resonable new dentist. I have a lot to say but think I will hold back and stop here... Pros: absolutely nothing Cons: too many to list.... more

This Doctor is the best .... E Ways 4/21/2009

This dentist is without a doubt the best that I have went to. He is very fast and hard- working. He is very reliable and his staff is very friendly. As soon as I was finished I knew I was going to come back. He staff explains the cost and how it changes based on what your teeth look like. The dentist take take great care of my teeth and I always leave with a smile....... This dentist is highly recommended from me, and you will enjoy it greatfully. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Great Work! 4/19/2009

I started going to Dr. Andrews b/c my last dentist was very hard to get an appointment with and didn't file insurance. My husband was already going to Dr. Andrews and recommended I go. Before my first appt, I had a chipped tooth and called the office after-hours. Dr. Andrews promptly returned my call to address my concerns. I was very impressed! I like knowing I can call my dentist anytime with a problem and I won't have to wait days to hear back or get an appointment. The staff is great and really works with you. I know what costs to expect ahead of time. Insurance is confusing but they always take time to explain things thoroughly. I like knowing that I am the only patient booked during procedures. I get all of the care and attention. They make me feel as comfortable as possible and pain-free. I have had major dental problems and Dr. Andrews has taken on the challenge of taking me on as a patient. I know that he strives for perfection and that makes me comfortable in knowing that I will have great results! He and his staff are aware that times are tough and money is tight, however, quality care is not always the cheapest. I have had cheaper work done in the past but am paying for it later. I definitely recommend this dental practice! Pros: one-on-one care, thorough, great staff more

Excellent experience 4/15/2009

I was very nervous trusting my mouth to Dr. Andrews for the first time, due to some dental anxiety. I needed a couple of crowns done, due to very old, large fillings that were causing sensitivity. He used a new computer delivery system for the local anesthetic and I didn't feel a thing! He asked me several times if I was feeling anything and was so gentle with me. His assistant was very friendly and did a great job of making the time go quickly. Dr. Andrews scheduled me as his only patient during the time of my visit, so he wasn't up and down going betweeen two or three rooms; all his time and attention was on me. He took photos of my teeth while working on me to keep me informed as to what was going on. When one of the fillings was removed and found to be quite deep, he took all precaution to medicate that tooth in order to avoid a root canal. So far, everything feels great. I felt like the office truly cared about me as a person while I was there. I loved the time and detail they took to do my work and do it well. If you'd ever want a perfectionist working for you, in my opinion it would be the person who cares for your mouth. Pros: empathetic, perfectionist, attention to detail more

Very nice staff, squeeky clean office, excellent dental work, expensive but worth it! 10/31/2008

I've been going to Dr. Andrews for a while now. He's put five crowns on my teeth. Two were my front teeth which were broken off pretty badly in a childhood accident and had looked ugly for years. Now my smile looks fantastic after going to Dr. Andrews. I think Dr. Andrews feels very strongly that his prices are fair for the quality of work he does. I was skeptical at first, but after the work he's performed, I totally agree with him. He is a perfectionist, has a great eye for aesthetics, and is a very knowledgeable dentist! He and his staff go out of the way to make you as comfortable as possible, both during and after procedures. They also have some pretty flexible payment options and they will work with you! They are in the business of keeping patients for years so they aren't out to burn you one time so you'll never come back.\r \r The bottom line is, you are going to get exactly what you pay for. And that is quality work and excellent service with a smile every time. If you just want something done quick and dirty to make your mouth pain go away and don't really mind what the end result looks like, then don't go here! But if your in the market for a nice family dentist that you can build a relationship with and who will make your health and well-being his priority, this is the guy. Pros: Clean office, nice staff, exceptional dental work Cons: more expensive compaired to other dentists, but worth it in my opinion more

I was very impressed 10/7/2008

I recently went to Dr. Andrews for my first exam and I was very impressed by the staff, office and especially the Doctor. I have never received so much information about my mouth anywhere else. My father recently has had some health complications which has prompted me to be more informed of my own health, and this appointment was very satisfying for me. I have gone to get my teeth cleaned and I don't think I remember having a hygienist anywhere else spend the time with me like she did. Her confidence as well as the staff's in the Doctor felt warm and reassuring, I even had my own mother make an appointment to see Dr. Andrews and if that doesn't tell you anything, I'm not sure what will. I have been more than happy with this office, and have no reason to look elsewhere. Pros: Warm, Educational, Friendly more
