I get my hair done here every 6 weeks and its the most down to earth, amazing place. I can't count the number of salons I churned through before I found Diny here at Robery Leonard, each one more annoying, expensive, and trendy than the next. This is the kind of place where grandmothers take their grandaughters. It's clean, the reception staff are incredibly professional and friendly (this is a major difference from most places), they carry great product lines (B&B for one) and my hair looks amazing every time. They also do massage, skin services, nails. Everything I've had done here was top notch, drama free, very professional. And even though its right downtown behind Jazz Alley, its surprisingly easy to find street parking AND the services are very well priced. Love it. more

I am VERY Picky and difficult to please, and Robert Leonard has succeeded every time. Hair: I have curly, Frizzy and unmanageable hair- I will pay for a good cut and style. Normally I only go to curly haired women, but Lisa is the best hairstylist around. Simply put she gets it. She works with what I want- and never tries to push her vision or agenda on me. I get a GREAT cut every time! ...and she's a really great to chat with also (normally I just want you to focus on my cut and not talk to me, but something about Lisa is special- she does both!) Massage: I have stressful life and ALWAYS have my guard up. I got my first massage and Robert Leonard today, and normally I focus on what the masseuse DIDN'T do. However, I am in the post massage glow right now and am so very thankful for what he DID do! I was actually snoring on the table-- hard to get more relaxed than that. Bravo Robert Leonard!! Your staff is professional, caring and the best in town!!! PS- Your massage robes are too scratchy and see through- Yikes! more

This place feels more "New York" than Seattle, due to the excellent customer service, EXCELLENT product line selection and availability, and several long hair specialists. You get your hair consultation in a private room where you sip tea, listen to nature sounds with a hint of the smell of mint and rosemary. It's a meditative experience . This was my first haircut at a stylist. All of my previous haircuts were at the local barber so I really wasn't sure what to expect. I wanted to try something different with my hair and my attempts to get my barber to try something else never really turned out well. The experience was really enjoyable and the haircut was fantastic. Luis was able to carry on a conversation on a variety of topics while he cut my hair. I learned a lot about hair care while I was there as he shared tips and tricks as well as letting me know what he was doing. The haircut was slightly longer then I'm used to but I think that's because he used all scissors and took his time making sure it was perfect. I've never really gotten any complements on my haircuts before (other then, 'oh hey, you got a haircut') but I actually got about 5 or 6 compliments on my hair the next day. I will definitely go back to Luis, I love his work! Thanks! Pros: Great conversation, and styling. Not too expensive Cons: Took longer then a barber haircut but looks much better more

My goodness, Luis the hair expert is positively amazing! I am one of the pickiest perfectionists in my family generally speaking, because of that "settling" with a stylist has become one of the hardest parts of my beauty routine. I have had soooo many bad experiences; from halfway decent jobs to downright horrifying nightmares wishing it was just that. Until Luis at Indulgence got a hold of my hair. The last coloring process I had done before Luis fixed it was completely embarasing. It looked like I had a "halo" as Luis named it, and he was quite accurate. My hair had been highlighted over a dark color so that all of my hair was not the same color from top to bottom mind you that it was a so called professional who had done this. After this hair experience I lost faith in stylists and gave up for a while. Then I came to Indulgence months later and Luis doctored my color back to an even (no halo) and radiant hair color. He know exactly what to do considering that this wasn't your average color process. The whole procedure was more complicated and required expertise which i was never blessed with given my previous stylists. When it was completed I was overwhelmed with joy, i couldn't believe that he was soo amazing and cured my hair crisis. On top of his great job, he was such a great person to talk to. I felt so comfortable with him that I look forward to my next appointment. Thank You Luis!. I have been to Robert Leonard Salon & Spa to see Luis now and have ALWAYS been fabulously happy with my cut and color! He listens and delivers every time. Luis is personable, knowledgable and oh, so talented! I LOVE my hair; it nearly styles itself after a cut by Luis. I am so happy to have found a salon and a stylist that I can really count on, after 5 years in Seattle. The salon is comfortable and the staff and service is great. I have been looking for a salon to call my own, after many unsuccessful attempts to receive a "good" haircut. I was referred to citysearch and found Robert Leonard Salon. Luis was the best thing that has happened to my hair in a very long time. I was impressed by his hair, first off. He was very polite and attentive, but offered suggestions. Luis had self confidence and in his French accent said "No worries". My haircut is wonderful. It is stylish and easy to care for. I believe I have found my "hair salon" ! more

I was referred to Luis from a friend in Seattle. I didn't have to wait forever to get an appointment which was great. I walked in knowing only that I didn't want my length to change and that I'd like to be able to let my inner curl emerge again (after 5 years of straightening). My hairstylist Jason really knew how to give me a haircut that looks amazing whether I just let it air dry or if I want to do a sophisticated style. I get so many compliments on my hair color. I have asian hair and was always told I need to bleach it if I want some lighter highlights in it. He said otherwise and gave me beautiful highlights without damaging my hair. It looks so healthy and shiny. I drive all the way from the Eastside just to get my hair done by Jason! You will NOT be disappointed. more

I was recommended by a coworker to see Jason for a cut and color. He was phenomenal! My highlights looked amazing, and didn't have roots showing as they grew out. The cut was fantastic, and he really paid attention to how I style my hair. I got compliments for days! more

I was walking to work one day and saw a display for the Robert Leonard Salon, and after checking out the awesome reviews decided to give it a try since I was looking for a new salon anyway....and after my first visit I became hooked!!! The stylists there are AMAZING (went to Erica once and since she was booked went to Shane - both are GREAT!!) and they truly do their best to achieve the best look for you. They take their time in cutting your hair and you can tell they really care about the end result. I'm usually VERY picky about my cut and get super peeved when I'm not fully satisfied, but both times have been great. I've been to other nice salons but what I think made me stick with this one is the class, respect, and high quality cuts the stylists deliver. You can just truly tell they care. Not to mention the staff is super friendly without a hint of snootiness ;) I never write reviews but since reviews helped me discover this place I thought I'd place one for others to discover. If you haven't been there yet definitely visit Erica & Shane. Both are great!!! Pros: Highly skilled stylists, great people, great price, plenty of parking more

Laura Connors is a life saver! She is an amazing hair stylist and really fun to work with. I have never had such a good haircut... Also, her prices are GREAT for such a high-end salon. I would reccomend her services to anyone. more

My first time experience at Robert Leonard was great - Very pleasant reception when I stopped by to ask about services and costs and again when I arrived for my scheduled appt. for a highlight and cut. My stylist/colorist was Jennifer, she did a fabulous job on my blond highlights and was able to get the color that I was looking for. Services were very reasonably priced compared to many downtown establishments and I would definitely recommend the salon to folks that are looking for a new stylist. Erica Walters is fabulous! I just had my hair cut by her at Robert Loenard Salon. She transformed a not so great hair cut from another salon into the perfect cut for me. The front desk staff-especially John Martin the owner-was welcoming and gracious. There was no hard sell on products. Just a 'when you are finished with what you have you might want to try this product'. I am looking forward to my next visit with Erica for highlights. I was surprised at how reasonable her rate was for the quality of the service. Thank you Erica. Pros: Excellent service and skill level Cons: none more

Kimmy at Robert Leonard Salon is absolutely amazing. Upon first entering I was surprised at how large the salon was, but somehow they still make it feel homey. There were lovely fresh flowers scattered around the salon..beautiful. Then the magnificent Kimmy greeted me and took me back to work her magic on my hair. I have been a blonde my entire life, but I just got married and decided it was time to spice things up and go brunette for the fall. Kimmy helped me pick out the perfect color that would compliment my eyes and complexion. My hair looks amazing and the entire process was relaxing. I completely recommend Kimmy at Robert Leonard to anyone looking to spice up their hair this season! Pros: Professional, Talented service Cons: a little pricey...but worth it more

I go to the Robert Leonard salon to get my Braziliian waxing done by the best in Seattle, Helena, but never entertained the idea of getting my hair done there until I came to terms that I was in a rut with my current stylist and I needed to find someone new. I spoke with the front desk attendants, who are so fantastically warm and friendly, about what I was looking for and was able to get set up for a cut and color with Erica Walters. In a nut shell she is the best I have ever been to.I left my appointment with Erica with the most beautifully rich new chocolate brown locks I have ever had and to top it off she gave me a smart and sassy hair cut. The color was EXACTLY what we discussed and agreed would look best on me and the hair style was exactly as she said it would turn out. I have never really felt listened to with my prior stylist and was often walking out of my appointment at Gene Juarez feeling like I was in the movie, Ground Hog's Day. Erica Walters is exactly what anyone could ever hope for in a hair colorirst/stylist. She's honest, she's attentive, she's easy going but professional and highly skilled. Even the little things she did made a big difference. When she said "I'll be back in 15 minutes" while I sat under a steamer, she really came back in 15 minutes, if not less. I wasn't left sitting there wondering if my hair is disintergrating while she was away. Her scalp massage was so delicious I almost begged her to go a couple minutes longer! She probably would obliged! I can't say enough great things about Erica. I found a gem! Thank you, Erica!! See you in a few weeks... Recently, I had the pleasure of staying in downtown Seattle while on a business trip with my husband. I decided to get a really good haircut, and couldn't be more pleased with the choice of salons. I live on Whidbey Island, and teach school, so don't get downtown as often as I'd like to. Additionally, having my regular stylist (artist in this case) be in downtown Seattle is not realistic. If I could, however, I would make Robert Leonard my regular salon. I wanted to get a really good hairstyle, and I was not disappointed! Kara is wonderful---a true artist when it comes to creating the perfect cut. I have never received so many compliments on a haircut. She was professional, friendly, and really an outstanding hair stylist. Additionally, your support staff is the best. I was treated with the most outstanding customer service from my call to make an appointment to the time I left. I am not one to write a thank you for a haircut, but this trip was truly worth taking the time to let you know how very much I enjoyed my visit at your salon. Thank you. I love this place! The first time I came here I admit I was nervous; I've been to the "trendy" downtown salons before, sometimes the staff can be snobby and intimidating but I've never had that experience here! On my first appointment the folks at the counter were so nice and my stylist Kimmie (Who is a freaking color Goddess! *see below*) was waiting by the counter to welcome me with a big hug! While Kimmie was mixing my color one of the owners found me to welcome me to the salon! The whole experience was very warm and friendly, they really take the extra time to make you feel welcome, like you are a priority. I also really like the fact that the stylists here do color and cutting, unlike some other big places (rimes with bean door pez) where you get one person for the color, then they wash you and shuffle you off to the person who does the cutting and the blowdry and the colorist doesn't even see the color blown out. That feels so homogenized and sterile. Robert Leonard is so warm, very refreshing for such upscale service! I highly recommend this place! I also highly recommend Kimmie, (besides being a bona fide color goddess *see above*) she is a rockstar! Super fun to talk to & hysterically funny! For anyone who is thinking of making a change in their hair color or wants to try a fun, fresh new cut go see Kimmie! She took me from a blah medium brown to a very sparkling shade of blonde that is very natural looking with lots of highs and lows! I also recently was feeling a bit daring and had a couple very cute pink streaks put in, they came out so great! I have really long hair and with the layers and funky pieces that Kimmie cut into it, it's still a really fun style with lots of body and movement! I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair! Even if you aren't sure what you want but you know you are ready for a change, just make an appointment with Kimmie and browse her "book" it's filled with pictures of great hairstyles and fun colors she has done! -h* Pros: Such great service, makes you feel beautiful, fun atmosphere, great staff, etc. etc. etc. Cons: Have to use metered spots out front or a pay lot- Usually plenty of spots on 6th though... more
