Never have written a review before, but was so impressed with my experience I just had to do it! Just took my girl to Just Calm Down for their Morocckin with Your Valentine special. It was just the best couples massage and massage overall that I have ever received... and as a runner ,I I am used to getting massages once a week. My girl was so thrilled with the romantic setting and warm heated water beds where the massages were given. The spicy moroccan oils and heated packs just added to the adventure. To top it off, the actual massages were in a league by themselves. I know now where I will be getting all my future massages. The spa itself is very chill...paintings covering brick walls and a really cool and helpful staff. Like I said, this is the first review I have ever wriiten about anything so it shows my great satisfaction! My girl thanked me by purchasing me a series of massages...be back very soon! I just moved to NYC and was in desperate need of a good massage. So a friend suggested Just Calm Down. I decided to give it a shot and even try some of their new treatments which meant being Moroccan for a day! I tried the Moroccan Massage which was absolutely the best massage I've had by far! It was done in a heated waterbed! Perfect for this cold weather! Then I tried a Moroccan manicure and pedicure. It was one of the coolest mani/pedis I've ever had. They actually used couscous in the scrub and also used a hot yogurt and mint soak. I have been craving Moroccan food ever since! Along with the Moroccan theme, the spa has a beautiful Moroccan tent where you get your pedicure and manicures done. So as you can see, I've found my spa in Manhattan! I am definitely going back and am even considering it for my bachelorette party! AWESOME!! Pros: Great Atmoshpere, Pleasant Staff, Fun Treatments, AMAZING MASSAGE! Cons: Not being open 24/7! For all of those who have not decided on a Valentine's day present, Just calm Down is the perfect solution. I heard such amazing things about the spa, and was so impressed with my experience from start to finish. So impressed, that I booked a entire couples package for the fourteenth of February as a surprise for my love. To start off my afternoon, I had The Marriage of Figaro massage--a delicious blend of chocolate and fig oils used with yummy heat packs to warm the muscles. best of all, it is done on a heated waterbed! Insane! After I had the o2 Joy facial which left my skin clean, dewy and looking ten years younger. I topped my day off with The Laguna Beotch manicure and pedicure. Never so relaxed during a nail service. They have this beautiful, cozy tent where you sink into a couch for the pedicure. So far beyond those run of the mill nail places. My feet still feel soft as cotton! I loved every minute of my experience and can't wait to come back with my boy. Hands down, Just calm down id by far the best and most relaxing spa in NYC. I will never go anywhere else ever again after my fantastic mani/pedi experience at Just Calm Down! My friends have been bragging about this place forever so I was so excited finally to make it in. With so many delicious choices from their Sweet Shoppe ( as they call it and all those in the know) upon my arrival I was guided through each selection by the absolutely lovely woman at the front desk. After much contimplation, I decided on the Laguna Be-Otch! What a way to bring California to New York in mid December. To go with my choice, I was offered an assortment of yummy drinks. I chose the homemade hot cocoa which I must say was beyond tasty! My nail technician then helped me choose the perfect color and after I was swept away to a beautiful luxurious tented room. Relaxing on a couch could not have been more soothing after a hard work week. From the unbelievable soak ( which had tons of tropical ingredients) to the two made to order scrubs and seaweed wrap, I really felt like I was in heaven. The girls at Just Calm Down really go above and beyond in all categories. As an avid spa-goer and lover of nail treatments, I truly believe that Just Calm Down is by far the best spa I have ever been to. The ambiance is quite charming-- leaps and bounds above the typical mundane and sterile spas sprouting up everywhere. It has been almost 3 weeks since my visit and my feet are still baby soft and my polish has not chipped at all! The quality of the polish and the way it was applied really lasts. My nail tech was also extremely knowledgable about nail care and gave me lots of tips! I recommend Just Calm Down to all those looking to be pampered in paradise! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

All I can say is Wow! I was give a gift certificate for Christmas and was really excited that I was able to use it during my week off. When I called up to book the appointment, the woman on the phone was exceptionally nice and accomodating. (later found out she was the owner!) Since I was given just a dollar amount, she guided through the menu and explained each service to me. I decided to indulge in The Movie Star Massage (love the name!) and the O2 Joy Facial. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with the same wonderful hospitality. My massage with Claire and my facial with Ilona were by far the BEST I have ever received. I had heard such great things about Just Calm Down and they were more than confirmed upon my visit. Not only does the staff go above and beyond before, during and after the services, the ambiance is so sweet and lovely! As a big spa junky, I have become a true Just Calm Down covert. I recommend this place for anyone looking for the BEST spa experience! Pros: Very accomodating, exceptional services, fabulous customer service, beautiful space Cons: none more

I threw my best friend's bachelorette party at Just Calm Down and from beginning to end the experience was extraordinary! Being from out of town, I was impressed with the level of care the receptionist put in to planning the party with me. She coordinated the services and even helped me with the catering. All the girls absolutely loved their services and the bride said it was by far the best spa party she had ever been to!! I wish there was a Just Calm Down in Los Angeles so that I could go back once a week. Also, I wanted give a million thank yous to all the therapists and the front desk girls and give them all giant kudos for a superb day! I'll be back the next time I am in town. Pros: Party Heaven! I read about how wonderful Just Calm Down was in a bunch of the beauty mags and had to see it for myself. I popped in a few weeks ago and was overwhelmed with how cute the place was and how unbelievably nice the girls at the desk were. I was so in love with the place, I decided to purchase some holiday gift certificates. WOW! Unlike the ordinary, run of the mill plastic gift cards, the Just Calm Down girls hand design each card beautifully! Impressed or what! They then wrap them up to perfection....Makes me want to do all my shopping there.... Thirlled with the presentation and the description the girls went into regarding the services, I decided to book a some treatments for myself. Came in a few days ago for the most unbelievable massage, srub and facial I have ever received. Not only does Just Calm Down define customer service, but the services are out of this world. As you can tell, I recommend Just Calm Down to everyone!! Pros: Everything! Cons: Nothing! more

I threw a bachelorette party last week and my lady friends are still raving about it! We had a chocolate themed party and they did such an amazing job! Since there were so many of us, we decided to draw from a hat filled with purple hearts that had different chocolate treatments - i thought that was so cool, it made it fun and exciting for everyone! They were so friendly! They even helped coordinate the catering, offered us yummy free drinks and let us bring our own music! I've been to so many places in the city but Just Calm Down was something else! Thank you so much to all the lovely ladies at Just Calm Down! I went into Just Calm Down expecting your normal manicure and pedicure. But it ended up being absolutely amazing and beyond my expectations! I had the Chocolate Wars Mani and Pedi and it was delightful! They actually used chocolate fondue, marshmallows, and chocolate chips! I also was given heavenly hot chocolate to sip on. The pedicure was done inside a beautiful Moroccan tent- I felt like a true pampered princess! You can bet I will get all my manis and pedis here from now on. After running 26.2 miles in the NYC marathon...getting a massage was a MUST! After receiving The Movie Star- Great Ginger Escape massage...I realized that I'll never go anywhere else than Just Calm Down! This intense muscle warming treatment was amazing! Plus, the massage therapists were fantastic! Getting to choose my music was so unique and personalized. I will absolutely be back! more

I walked in and was greeted with fruit infused water, herbal tea, wine, hot chocolate or hot cider! The staff was super friendly and nice. I had the works with my massage. I had the movie star/pitter patter. They called it the Split personality because its two massages in one plus deep tissue. I had 60 minutes and had to upgrade it to 90. It was delish!!! Maiya was my therapist and was awesome. It was so great I bought a series of 6, because I am addicted to Maiya and her hands. I'm also planning my friends bacherlorette party at the spa because when I was there another party was happening and the girls told me they were having the best time ever!!! I highly recommend Just Calm Down and Maiya to anyone looking for the best massage/ spa experience of their life! As an avid spa goer, Just Calm Down is by far my favorite little relaxation haunt . The place is simply adorable. Not only are the walls adorned with very cool original artwork, but the ambiance is super comfy. My favorite spa days include 90 minute pitter patter massages with Claire, intense body scrubs (they are all homemade!) with Kerrin and spatacular fancy funky delicious manis and pedis with the great Ilona. Oops, forgot to mention the insane facial I recently had with Kerrin. It was truly out of this world. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, something that gives creativity a new name, something where from the the time you walk through the doors you are treated like royalty, than this is the perfect place for you too! I have only positive things to say about my recent experience at Just Calm Down. From the moment I entered, everyone was friendly and calming. My facial with Kerrin was fabulous--I felt pampered, soothed, and refreshed. She was so much nicer than any other facialist I've had at other spas, and I left feeling glowy and happy. Couldn't believe that any spa could have such nice people working there. When I found out that the receptionist was the owner, I was shocked by how personable and sweet she was! Very surprised that other reviewers would object to such a warm and endearing reception and atmosphere. New Yorker's must forget what it is like to be treated so gracefully! Forget Oasis, Aqua, Sweet Liily and all the rest! The services and ambiance at Just Calm Down are really top notch! My boyfriend and I loved our massages and facials. The staff is sooo nice and really work hard to give you the best service ever! Even got my boy to have a Grape Gatsby wine pedicure inside their adorable tent. I took my mom, and my boyfriend's sister and mom here for a mother's day massage. The poorly organized receptionist called to let us know they were running 15 minutes behind, but would "give us some wine and entertainment" while we waited. We arrived at the spa, received a speech from the owner about all the services (even though we had booked a specific massage for a specific financial reason) so she could try and get us to spend more money. We ended up waiting for an hour plus, got no wine. And no entertainment. While the massages were nice, the wait and ambiance was ruined by the annoying owner/receptionist. NOT RECOMMENDED, particularly if you're trying to impress your boyfriends family! Pros: Okay massages Cons: Owner is annoying, LONG WAIT (even with appointment) more

I got to my massage 15 minutes early and then waited for 45! No one explained until I asked and no one was nice about the delay either. The recp. is so annoying and not helpful at all. There is no relaxation room, just go into a room that looks like a shower and undress. The massage only went for 50 minutes instead of 60 and at $135! It was not worth it. I will never go back and will stay with Oasis. Cons: Not helpful, Late, Overpriced more

Out of this world massage (Claire is off the hook with the skills!). Casual and friendly, like visiting a home, instead of the typical spa: couches, tea/juice/wine, custom music, etc. Its hard to get exact appt. you want; its booked solid, with lots of walk-ins. I saw this when I arrived for my own appt. Not hard to work around, Ill just plan ahead. I got the "Pitter Patter." Glorious! Went for an extra 30 - made poss. by my friend doing an extra 30 on her service so instead of getting her own massage, I stayed on. Thumbs up: it's adorable & the staff really tried to do last min. changes (like my not wanting to get off the table, ever!). I'm going for the series, where I get a free massage thrown in. WOW! Just Calm Down is well worth the wait! The spa is very busy and after receiving my fantastic services, I now see why! I have never been treated with such grace at any spa anywhere! The Rock Star Massage was the absolute bomb. I even got to listen to Bob Marley--how cool is that! I then had the the biggest treat ever--the Have Your Cake and Feet It Too delicious cake batter mani and pedi. How creative is that! Couldn't believe how beautiful and relaxing the tent was where I had the services. Soft, silky and beyond wonderful only begin to describe how unique and fab this experience was!
