I was doing laundry and water started overflowing from the back of the washer and flooding onto the floor! I rummaged through the phone book and found Jim Dandy Sewer and Plumbing.. They came out very quickly. The plumber arrived onsite and jumped right in to action! He quickly but gently moved the wash machine, worked his magic and the water was draining once more!~ I was really pleased with Jim Dandy and will use them again as well as reccomend them to all my friends. more

Keep this phone number on hand!! 7/17/2009

I just finished unpacking some boxes in our new house when my wife brought me a large picture that she wanted hung. I hammered in a nail, and the next thing I know water is spraying all over the place! I am new to the area and didnt know who to call. I picked Jim Dandy because I liked their name. They were teriffic! They were fast, efficient and they treated my home with care. I was afraid they would have to start tearing out walls, but they were very gentle in gaining access. Im so glad that I found someone so great this quickly! Hopefully I wont have to, but I will call them again if I need to. more

Finally A Trustworthy Plumber! 7/15/2009

Good: The whole thing was teriffic! The person who took my call all the way to paying the bill at the end! The service was prompt, the plumber was professional and knowledgable, and the prices were fair. I am a widowed senior citizen, and am scared of being taken advantage of. I felt like I was treated with honesty and respect!. Other: Thank you Jim Dandy for your great service. I will call on you again, and I will tell all my friends at the senior center about my experiance.. more

Beware - Somewhat of a racket 3/13/2007

I disagree with the other posting. The guy who came to my house was courteous and arrived right on time, but did far more than was required and asked, and charged dearly for it. I only wanted him to fix a clog in my drain....something anybody could do with a snake. I told him the clog was most likely near my tub drain as I'd tried to clear it myself and could tell by how quickly the tub would fill with standing water. He proceeded to pull out a bunch of large equipment, working outside my house, and ran a camera down through the pipes out to the street. Initially he'd indicated he was looking under the house but I later found out he was checking the condition of the side sewer. He did find a damaged pipe out by the street, but this was not the thing that was clogging the drain. Each time I asked him about the clog he evaded the question. He finally made it inside the house, ran a snake down my pipes, and retrieved the debris that was causing the clog (all of which took about 15 minutes). He also for some reason took apart the trap in my bathroom sink, although the clog was obviously not in that area. He lost the washer and forgot to put it back together; I reminded him before he left and it took him 15 or 20 minutes to put it back together, going back and forth to and from his van for the parts, etc....and he charged me for this. In total, he was at my house for 1-1/2 hours and charged me $325 to fix the clog that any other plumber could have done for under a third of that cost. I did find out about the damaged side sewer pipe (but, truth be told, since I share the line with my neighbors who are closer to it and at a lower grade it will probably be more of an issue for them than it is me) and charged me $50 for a video of the footage in the drain...something which was unecessary and unasked for. Yes, it's good to know that information, but he should've been more clear about what he was doing, and why, and not imply that this was being done in order to deal with the clog. I don't have that kind of money!! This guy said one of their people would be back to give me an estimate on the larger side sewer repair. I feel I was taken advantage of...I get the sense this outfit encourages their employees to go out an "find" another, larger, potentially more costly issue (sort of like the bad car mechanic) and then hope they can land that larger project as well. Even if I do decide to get the side sewer fixed, I won't be going back to them. more

Jim Dandy Plumbing is DANDY! 1/25/2007

http://www.jimdandysewer.com/ As being relatively new to the area, we didn't personally know any plumbers. All the reviews I read online were mostly mediocre to bad - esp bad from Those Who Advertise Heavily. Since the 'net (even Judy's Book) wasn't helpful, I decided to go through the classic Yellow Pages & called the first 5 plumbers who did not have full page ads. All we needed done was to replace our kitchen sink faucet. I had the faucet, and this could be a DIY repair, if we were the DIY types. But we're not. A couple plumbers would not quote me anything over the phone. They'd come out & give me an estimate on the spot. Nope, don't need that. The rest gave me their hourly rates (usually ~$90/hr) and a few told me this would not take more than 2 hours. So, I had a ballpark amount in my mind... and I went with the person who was most polite with me on the phone, not necessarily the cheapest rates. So, Jim Dandy Plumbing came to our rescue. They called when they were on their way (on time, I might add), and were very courteous. Michael, the plumber (the other guy was training? assisting?), looked at the faucet & said we just needed a piece replaced; we didn't need the whole faucet. He happened to have the piece in his truck. It took a whole 20 mins. He advised me to return the faucet I bought, and also suggested better brands. He even told me what kind of sink to get, since we're thinking of renovating too. This guy was very helpful. Mind you, this wasn't cheap. The bill was about $130 (part was $22, the rest was labor). But it could've been $100 more. And, I'm able to return the $100 faucet we bought, too. I really appreciate this guy's honesty. That's why I am recommending Jim Dandy Plumbing. more
