In & Out Moving & Storage

They are probably the worst moving company in the history of in and out moving. Hiring them was easy, but then the trouble started. On the move out, they were 2 hours late. When they finally arrived, they were quick in wrapping things up, but told me that I had more stuff than they had ancitipated and that I must pay more for storage. The kept my furniture in storage for three months and somehow managed to break the back board of my bed - which is made of massive plywood, 2 inches thick, and heavy. God knows how they did that. They also delivered some of the boxes upside-down, causing heavy items on the bottom to fall onto the light (and fragile) items on the top, killing 4 wine glasses and a lamp shade. Their claims process is a nightmare, too: you need to provide photos, original receipts of the items purchased, and a confirmation of ownership - all in paper, nothing electronically. In the end, they even wanted to charge me for the extra month of storage that they had promised me when I hired them. Conclusion: Stay away, save yourself some trouble. more

I have moved or helped family members move a dozen times, using movers about 6 times. Big names and no names. This move was from Chicago to south of Joliet, so there was a lot of opportunity for disaster. This is the first company that a)seemed to care about what they were moving, b)did what they said they would when they said they would, and c)had a firm price. I would use them again, for sure. Unreliable, non communicative, and even rude - I would like to dissuade anyone from contracting In and Out Movers. While seemingly helpful when we spoke to them about orchestrating our cross country move, after receiving our initial deposit and having possession of our belongings, Patrick and Richard did not make the minimal efforts to ensure that the move went smoothly. They did not communicate the weight of our shipment which resulted in the cost rising $500 and incorrectly communicated the cost of taking it up to the third floor (stating that it would be $50 when it was, in fact, $150), did not fill out the receipt of packages forms correctly resulting in our belongings arriving two weeks after projected (and causing many complications in our lives such as rearranged work trips and living without items such as kitchenware that we needed), were unresponsive to our emails then communicated incorrect (and perhaps even purposefully deceiving) information about the status and location of our belongings, ultimately acting rudely to us and blaming us for the complications in the move, and telling us that they would deliver our belongings at their convenience. Our experience with these movers was one of the worst business transactions that I have ever engaged in. Their lack of initiative caused our move to be much more complicated than necessary and, even more regrettably, communicated that they did not care about our business and, as they had possession of our belongings, we were at their mercy. In summary, our move cost nearly twice as much and two weeks longer than IN and Out Movers projected and was handled by placing the blame on us rather than trying to solve problems. I have just finished moving with IN & OUT Movers. I was amased by the team efficiency and hard work. I had to move from a third floor apartment to a second floor. The crew showed up around 2:45 and finished my move in less than 3 hours. I am glad that i hired this copany as i have researched a few and got estimated that were not accurate at all ( i realize that now). IN & OUT Movers gave me a quick quote and farely acurate. I would recommend this comapny service to all, sometimes it is better to pay a liitle more and realy get the service you are asking for. watch out from rogue movers it is E-Z to fall into other movers trap. My recent long-distance move was an absolute nightmarish experience and I urge you NEVER to use this company. Highlights: - Movers were evasive and dishonest regarding anticipated delivery dates. - Owner was verbally abusive, insulting, and dishonest when contacted about moving problems. - Movers lost 1 box and 1 suitcase, and did significant damage to furniture. - 3rd party independent claims company failed to settle our claim and will not respond to repeated phone calls and letters. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! They seem nice and they seem easy to deal with, but will come back and bite you in the rear. I hired them to move my girlfriend into our house and when they got to her apartment there was only one box that was not taped up they offered to tape it up and did so. My Ipod was in that box. When we got to my house and began to unload that box the ipod was gone. Their customer service called me a liar and said that none of their guys would do that and I must have misplaced it. I put it in the box 10 minutes before they got there!!! They refuse to do anything about it and have put it to their claims dept. which has yet to do anything. \r \r Again DO not use these guys. I have moved so many times - almost every year - and most of the moving companies I have used usually turned out to be a real nightmare regardless of many promises they make before they start moving you.
