New to Austin, only 14 years...Guero's was once a great place, yes, when Clinton frequented. BUT, over the past 4 years, I have had extremely bad experiences with the staff, the food, and oh my God! the wait. Our last person was parking and they refused to seat us until one of five showed up. Prior in another experience, I was told that I didn't have to be put on the list, only to be passed over and over by people streaming in, waiting on one person (of course!)...we left after an hour of not being sat down. And others, too much to mention. Most recently, on Sunday 7/22/06, we met some folks we hadn't seen in years, and who loved the place, so of course, we went again, against our better judgement. The fajitas were chewy, the food was served cold, and the wait staff was very unattentive and rude. We almost were run over by a waiter carring hot coffee. We had to wait again, for one person to park and show up. NEVER again! It just ain't worth it, not even the food is good any more. Avoid EVERY night/day.
Pros: Pros deminished over time, there are no longer any pros
Cons: cold food, loud, just as easily turned away as look at you
