Quality of work seems good, however, not any better than Baker Bros and costs for equivalent work was about 50% higher.

new unit 7/8/2012

My outside air conditioning unit went out and it took no time for frymire to send a tech out for a service call. I ended up have to get a new unit. The tech that came out for the service call was very nice and imformative. I got a new unit installed withina two days of my order and the men that installed the unit fast and courteous. more

Had an initial mixup on date of appointment. had a quick response and rescheduled. Their professional handling of this incident turned a negative experience into a positive one. They made no excuses a corrected it promptly. Service was excellent. more

My technician, Leo, was professional, courteous, and very well informed. He educated me on every question I asked. I was so pleased with his high level of service that I signed up for their regular service plan. The downside of working with Frymire is that their call center and scheduling team messed up the scheduled date of my service. I took a half day off because I was advised that the technician would arrive some time after Noon. At 4:30 I called to ask when they were coming and discovered they didnt have me on schedule. I insisted that someone come that night as I had been without A/C for a week (in Texas) and one week out was the best appointment I could get. The technician came at 9:30pm (which was very late, but at least someone came). Thankfully he was as thorough and professional as I described above or I would have never used their services again. more

I was very impressed. Sometimes when these "check-up" service people come out, they try to sell you on service contracts and unneeded upgrades. Not so with Frymire. Technician got to work immediately with a minimum of chit-chat and when he finished, he told me exactly what I needed to know about caring for my AC unit -- no jargon, no sales pitch, just the facts. I would definitely call them again! more

This past month I've used them for my a/c tune up which they installed 2 years ago, new water heater and plumbing. I won't ever use anyone else for my repairs. more

A check-up maintenance call was performed on one of our air conditioner units. Work was completed quickly and the technician kept me informed of his finding. A component was starting to go out so it was replaced before any damage could occur to the fan system. Technician was polite, well groomed and very careful about not bringing dirt into the house or letting any attic dust get walked into the house. Would gladly use Frymire again. more

There was quite a bit of confusion as to just when the technician was coming. When I originally called for an appt, I was told between 1-3. Tech called that morning at 10:20, said was coming then. I said no, we were planning on afternoon so my husband could be here. He said okay, would put down for afternoon but couldn't give a window and appt-maker shouldn't have done so. Another scheduler called around 4, when no one had come. Then tech called again, came around 6. He was great once he got here -- the problem was just getting him here. more

I cannot say enough about Alex (plumber) who was at our home on June 6th & 8th. Very professional and went out of his way to get information for me to provide to family who is buying our home. I requested to have Alex do the repairs after he was in our home in Nov 2011 to fix a gas leak. Then too, he went out of his way to track down parts that were not standard. more

Bait &Switch 6/11/2012

Angie's List "bait" $69.00 check w/ 2lbs freon. Check revealed undefined leak in evaporator coil. Estimate @standard rate was $2,569.25 above the $69.00 paid. This did not include estimated repair or replacement of evaporator. FPS Tune-up Checklist did not show any condition that exceeded max ratings. Freon charge restored satisfactory performance at a final cost of $175.00.. RESPONSE FROM Frymire Services, Inc.: Mr. Lindsey paid an additional $101.94 for 2 more pounds of refrigerant - his system needed 4 total to be fully charged. The air conditioning system is 13 years old and our technician noted several items that will require attention, including a leaking evaporator coil. The condition of the leaking coil and other items were noted on the tune-up checklist. These discoveries are part of our normal tune-up inspection and all of our professional technicians are trained to note and advise our customers of their findings, enabling our customers to make an informed decision. It is always the customers prerogative to decline our recommendations, which is what Mr. Lindsey chose to do. more

Emergency service AC repair 6/7/2012

To recap the last 24 hrs.... Came home to a very hot house yesterday. AC was out. I have a frymire service plan for just such an event. Called Frymire about 4 pm and was told it would take 3 days before they could get someone to come by. That didn't fit with my expectations for emergency service so I was able to speak with a manager later that evening. About 8 am this morning I was called back and told that someone would be over before 5 pm. The tech got here about 3 and was gone by 5 pm with the AC back up and running. So, what started off as what I thought was going to be a major hassle worked out just fine. It's to bad it took some extra effort to get things lined up but once past the front desk they did a great job. I Had to ding thematic least one star for the 3 day scare. The techs they send out have always been very professional and friendly. more

The technician was early to arrive and assess the problem. The fan motor had failed and seized: he checked the capacitor to find it was OK. Able then got the pricing information and fully explained everything. Once the new fan motor was installed he also checked the system performance, which showed we were low on refreigerant. He gave us the option to fill or not, and we opted to fill it for better performance. At all times, our aTech, Able was polite, focused and gave me the quality of service I expect from Frymire. JOB WELL DONE !.... RESPONSE FROM Frymire Services, Inc.: A wonderful review and the kudos for technician Able is much appreciated. Too bad about the stars! more
