I have used Frymire a couple of times before for a/c service, and was satisfied. I liked how easy and fast the response was, which is important for a/c service in the summer. And the servicemen were friendly and helpful. However, my previous experience made me decide to call someone else next time. Our furnace was acting up and I called Frymire, because again, I needed a quick response. The serviceman finally came late in the afternoon and was waiting for me when I got home from picking up my young kids. As soon as I walked in the door, needing a minute to get my tired, cranky kids settled, the serviceman barked at me to tell him where the furnace was. I let it go because I realized I was probably his last call of the day and he wanted to go home. After testing the wiring connections on my furnace, he told me I that needed to replace the gas valve, probably the most expensive piece on my furnace. Retailing at about $250, he quoted me $650 for the part alone. Coincidentally, he became very friendly when he was telling me that's what was wrong with my furnace. I didn't get a good feeling from him from the start, even when I talked to him on the phone before he arrived. I definitely didn't trust him and I told him I'd let them know if I decided to replace the valve. I lived with a spotty furnace for a few days and finally got the time to do some research. I cleaned the flame sensor with some fine sandpaper, and it's worked perfectly ever since. Instead of offering advice that I'm sure the serviceman was aware of, he tried to get me to spend probably close to $1000 just before Christmas. No thanks. I'll find a company I can trust.
