The best in Raleigh 7/18/2009

I can't imagine the people who wrote negative reviews are eating at the same restaurant. Jeffry, the head chef is outstanding! If you are looking for meatloaf and mashed potatoes, you should look elsewhere but if you are interested in elegant seasonal fare, then this is your place. My wife and I have been coming here regularly and all our ""foodie"" friends agree that it's the best restaurant in Raleigh. Make sure that you set your mind for a relaxed dining experience - not that the pace is slow - it's just that you will want to savor every bit and every sip. You will find the menu varied enough to account for wide tastes but it is not vast. The selections are obviously prepared with great care and served with equal attention. Don't miss the duck and goat cheese gnocci - it's the stuff dreams are made of - if you dream of fine food. Frazier's is like having The French Laundry in our own back yard. Pros: Creative and delightful menu, excellent service Cons: NONE! more

Fantastic 6/3/2009

Have been twice and love the experience and food both times. Unbelievably accommodating. Still dreaming of the dinner I had there months ago! Pros: incredible selection, service, style more

Great dining spot! 3/29/2009

I've been hearing about Frazier's since I moved down to the Triangle but never made my way over there. I finally got to this past weekend and it was fantastic. Not only was the food tasty but also creative. The service was friendly and prompted. The portions were a great size and the price was cheap compared to a lot of the higher classes restaurants in the Triangle. An overall great dining experience and I am looking forward to eat there again. Pros: Service, quiet, creative dishes Cons: parking more

Excellent dining, great customer service! 5/28/2008

We went for a special Mother's Day brunch and were not disappointed! The food was absolutely incredible - the steak melted in your mouth and we have never eaten such fresh produce at a dining establishment! We had exceptionally good service and the management is very accomodating and pleasant, but not in your face. I would highly recommend a visit if you want a relaxing and wonderful meal. We will chose to dine out less often to go to Fraziers just once! Pros: Ambience, food quality, staff Cons: parking more

Always a wonderful experience 3/6/2008

I've never written a review for Citysearch before, but once again I had a great dinner at Frazier's last week and am writing to encourage anyone passionate about food to give this place a try - especially if you've read recent negative reviews. Pros: Service, cuisine, dining experience, decor/atmosphere more

Horrible! 2/28/2008

I went to eat at Frazier's with high expectations, but left severely disappointed. The food wasn't anything to remember- it was okay, but not good enough to justify going there. I don't intend to return (it's not worth spending that much!). Don't waste your time here. Pros: comfortable Cons: food is not worth the money more

Disappointed :-( 2/28/2008

I had eaten here almost a year ago and liked it enough to try it again this past weekend. I was very disappointed. I had hoped for a much more creative menu, but it just wasn't. As someone else mentioned, it relied heavily on pastas. The service was friendly...when we could get it. We waited several minutes to be greeted by our waitress when we first sat down, then about 10 more minutes just to get our water. It took us 2 hours from beginning to end and that is not because we were enjoying ourselves lingering. In fact, the cramped, stuffy atmosphere made it a relief to finally get out of there. The food was average, and for the money, it was definitely well below average. And, the portions are small so we both left slightly hungry. From my experience, there are much better places for fine dining in Raleigh. I'd love to be able to say great things about Frazier's, but I just can't. more

Not that Great 2/3/2008

Thought it was okay. I had heard Fraziers had a very creative menu, but it wasn't that interesting. The duck was very so-so. Too gamey and not very flavorful. more

Great First Time Experience 9/23/2007

First time at Frazier?s last night, a superb meal from the BLT Salad to the Gnocchi with Bolognese Sauce to the Fish with roasted corn to the superb cheese course for dessert. Pros: Great Food & Service Cons: Somewhat crampedand little parking more

What happened? 8/10/2007

I went to Frazier's last summer and was utterly blown away by the food. Not only was it excellent, but it was creative. I returned this past June, with admittedly high expectations. After a few moments studying the menu, I was disappointed. It wasn't nearly as ambitious or creative as it had been. It was very heavy on pastas. At the end of the meal, I asked the waitress if Jay Bever was still the head chef. She said that he had left (unfortunately). I have a feeling that much of Frazier's greatness was due to Mr. Bever. If you're looking for creative, avant-garde cuisine, head over to Piedmont in Durham. Pros: Still better than most Raleigh restaurants Cons: Not quite as ambitious as before more

Somewhat Disappointed 7/13/2007

My friend and I visited Frazier's on 7/11. The atmosphere was nice; cozy and chic. The service was good, but slow. We waited close to 30 mins. for a salad (that did not come with the meal). The food was average at best, so the small portion size did not bother me. I think I expected more for the money. If I'm in Raleigh again, I would try somewhere else. Any suggestions??? more

An Oasis of culinary competence 4/7/2007

The food, service and vibe of Frazier's are all outstanding. The focus on local and seasonal ingredients promote fresh foods, and inventive menus. The Hebe and Chef's seasonal vegetables were both tasty and well presented. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, and the decor is unique and really exudes a neighborhood bistro in a much larger city. The location on one of Raleigh's few urban thoroughfares is perfect for this type of restaurant. Pros: Excellent food and atmosphere Cons: Can be pricey more

WOW 2/7/2007

WOW is my comment for this hidden restaurant. Tucked on the NC State stripp this restaurant offers it all. The atmosphere is very artsy and relaxing. I took my boyfriend for his birthday and was very pleased. Take advantage of the online reservations, which we did and were promptly seated. The service was excellent and we wanted for nothing during our dinner. The owner, chief, and host visted our table to make sure our dinner was fine. The staff was great and help any table out without complaint. Try the steak it is mouthwatering and the crepes are too. The attention to detail is outstanding. I left a comment on my online reservation as to my boyfriends birthday and upon arrival the hostess wished him happy birthday and for our desert they even wrote happy birthday on his plate. It was great and we were thrilled. Try the steak, pork and the salads they are awesome. I don't know how I went so long without visiting this restaurant but it was definitly worth the wait. The photo online needs updating since it has been redesigned. Pros: Great service, great food, and great atmosphere Cons: Parking can be tricky but hey it's well worth it more

Excellent Upscale Dining 2/3/2007

Great food, service and ambiance. Went there with frieinds and had an outstanding meal. The ownser came over and introduced himself and we had a great discussion on variuos wines and some of the best places in the triangel to buy them. For a romantic meal this place works very well as the resturant has some cozy tables a date would enjoy. Pros: Excellent menu and wine list Cons: Location and the table spacing can be a bit crowded more

Great Place 1/23/2007

Awesome Dining Experience! I had a great meal, great service, it was truly exceptional. I recommend this to everyone! Pros: Great Place more

Sorry to burst the bubble, but... 12/8/2006

I wasn't that impressed with Fraziers. The food seemed overpriced for the tiny portions you get. While the food was ""different"", it was not spectacular and certainly not what I call gourmet. Salad is not included with the main course, so if you want your fill expect to pay extra. Sanity rating only 90.5 (Come on, Subway even has a 100) Waitresses were nearly knocking our table over because the place is so cramped. Seems to me like you are paying an awful lot for a noisy, stuffy atmosphere that's just not all that its cracked up to be. It's not on my favorites list, and I think there are much better choices in the triangle. Pros: New York Bistro Feel Cons: Food just doesn't live up to the hype more

Excellent food! 6/15/2006

Great pup like atmosphere. I was impressed by the very friendly wait staff. This place has an excellent chef. more

The food (especially the grilled salmon and roasted chicken) were superb....The service was excellent and added to our wonderful experience....No question, we will be back!
