This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I purchased a groupon and I called to clarify terms of the groupon before purchase with a secretary at the Roswell Rd Location. When I showed up to my appointment I was told that I was misinformed. So I wasted $250.00 on these groupons due to THEIR miscommunication. I called the manager, Dunia, who was very polite on the phone and told me she would ""work something out"" as it was not my fault and that she would call me back in 24 hrs. Five weeks, two emails, four phone messages, and numerous unanswered calls later she still has not called me back. The office manager, Essence, told me that she would be sure to call me back ""that day"" on two separate occasions. I was not called back. Needless to say I am out $250.00 but the customer service and business ethics and practice at this office were TERRIBLE. I am really a polite and tolerant person but I really and truly cannot believe how poorly managed this office is. UPDATE: Dunia DID call me back today and she apologized for what happened.I am happy she apologized. However she did not offer to fix the false information I was given to make it right. more

I spoke to Dr. McKenna prior to Groupon purchase and confirmed that they would do both upper and low back lazer, I just had to pay an up-charge fee of $160. I paid this on the telephone that day so that there would not be challenges. I went into the first visit and they told me I had to reschedule because I had to shave my back prior. They did not tell me this on the phone. I went back in for the appointment, a week later and the doctor wanted to see me in a private room. He said that he would not honor the groupon for the back and said that no part of the back was included. I told him to read the groupon, this was not the case. In addition, the lady I spoke to put notes into the system confirming the original discussion. Dr. McKenna said, I could pay for the full back $2000 and he would apply the groupon cost as credit or give me my money back. I chose my money back. I do not recommend this unethical bait and switch merchant. more

Under one of their very negative reviews, the Dr. offered a 30 day trial period to anyone reading it. I called today & asked about it; of course it’s no longer being offered. It was posted a little over a year ago, but the lady who answered today, said it was years old. Well, then maybe he should delete his offer!!! I was willing to try this place, but not now. I have 60 pounds to lose, so if I had been able to use this offer, I'm sure he still would have made money off of me after 5 or 6 more months. Apparently he doesn’t stand by his word or is now making enough money, to not care. There are other places out there that offer the same services, with out all the LOW ratings. I initially heard about Shape reading an article about Dr. McKenna's trip to the whitehouse to work with President Obama on Health Care Reform. First of all the scale is definitely calibrated to weigh you in 10lbs heavier, I went with my sister and both of us came in at exactly 10lbs over which conveniently translates into an extra month of their weight loss program. We purchased the groupon and received less than 1/2 of the services described with the skinny package. The staff and Dr. rushed us through the process. With medical weight loss I would expect more hi-tech measurements than a BMI calculated with an incorrect weight and a self reported height to realistically track results. They were inconsistent as my sister and I had different experiences (she saw the nutritionist although she wasn't eligible to participate in the program, I didn't and I am eligible to participate... using their scale). Have you ever experience a fast talking sales person - well this doctor is the same way. He lacks personality and rushes you through your first initial appointment. So if you have any questions forget it – he must have spent a maximum of 15 minutes with me. He did not ask me anything about myself or even go through my medical history. In a nut shell, I was disappointed. If you are looking for a nice, compassionate and sincere doctor then this doctor is NOT that. He seems driven by money and not building a solid reputable practice. As far as the dietician – wow – what a rude, know it all, disrespectful, spiteful, tactless, insensitive person. I was shocked by her tone and sheer bluntness about how I am an idiot and she is not.\r \r With all of that being said I hope that I get the results I am looking for unfortunately it is too soon to tell.
