Extreme MMA is the best school for kids to learn different styles of martial arts and self defense. The instructors (Sensei Mike, Sensei Gabriel and Sifu Courtney) are excellent teachers who pass on their expertise in different styles of martial arts. They show such patience and care with the kids!!! They genuinely care about the kids and with their improvement. And most importantly, they teach the kids how to defend themselves in real life situations. My eight year old son and nine year old daughter have been studying at their school for three months and both have shown such improvement in such little time. This is such a great place,What a caring staff.The facility is extremely well kept, have many safety precautions in place and have a great curriculum. My son is in his second year there and I am very impressed with the amount of learning that is happening. It is more of a learning school than a play-based day care. Well were to start like my cousin ricky said Extreme martial arts has done alot for me and my cousin it made me into a in shape jiu-jitsu fighter and one of the top teenagers in Florida. I highly recommend Extreme MMA if you are looking to get in shape as I took kickboxing classes there for a few months and LOVED IT!! The classes not only taught me a certain valuable self-discipline that I never knew I had, but also pushed me physically and mentally to new heights. The classes offered a well-balanced mix of strength training, punching and kicking techniques. I noticed that my flexibility and self-discipline skills greatly improved during the time that I devoted to training and I felt that I was lead by a great group of teachers under Sensei Cardoso. more

This is the best academy by far. I have trained at other academies and I always seemed to get lost in the crowd, here at Extreme everyone is like family, they make you feel comfortable and you are able to get that one on one training. Sensei Mike is a great teacher and has stayed after class many times for me and others to give his 110 % to work with us on some techniques that maybe we had been having trouble with. Sensei Mike Cardoso is the owner and the head instructor, he is an experienced martial artist and very knowledeable in MMA. He has competed in numerous tournaments around the world and his instructors are all great. The gym has an actual MMA cage, punching bags, very well equipped with everything you need. Where to start, where to start.. Well this relativly new MMA gym has shown me that a new business facility can reach the pinnacle of its career as soon as its doors open. I've been with Sensei Micheal Cardoso since he opened the school and i must admit that this gym is the most intense, dedicated, and diciplined academy that I've ever been involved with. I wrestled for a few years before i came to train with these people, and since the day I first drew sweat on the mat I've been at the top of my game. For 3 1/2 years I've been winning tournaments left and right and all i am is a product of Sensei Mike Cardoso and his training staff. Shout out to Javill, Ian, Ray, Orlando, and now juan and my cousin Ruben. Our gym is on its way up to surpassing all these academies you hear so much about. i've trained jiu jitsu for years at a couple of diffrent academys and this is the only acadmy were i have found the individual attention that i like...i like the classes but when i need that one on one training to perfect my techniques the intructors are always willing and able to help. this has helped me out a lot in my competitions. the school is well equipped with everything you need and has a cage and a bunch of guys ready to roll or spar...i have a great time at extreme, everyone is cool and down to earth, everyone treats eachother like family, its a great enviroment to train and to learn. Sensai Cardoso is a remarkable teacher, i always learn something new, and when i think i got it all down packed he teaches me something to make me even better....i love it, anyone interested in coming in, don't wait anymore come in trust me its worth it. more

I LOVE EXTREME!!!! I'M ADDICTED. I've studied martial arts for years and this is the first time in my life i go to a school where everyone treats you and trains you like your family regardless of the experience you have or don't have. Sensai Cardoso is a one of a kind instructor, not only is he extremely knowledgable about mma but he's a very down to earth guy. Great teacher....no matter how many times you don't get it he explains it to you until you do...even if it means staying late after class. Everyone at the school is great and welcoming, and the intructors are all great teachers. I wouldn't go anywhere....in tha mma world this is my home. more

Since the moment I stepped inside the gym to train and learn under Sensei Cardoso I was greeted with open arms & no egos. Just individuals around me trying to accomplish the same goals I had set before enrolling. Not only is Sensei Cardoso one of the best if not the best instructors out there. He is always willing to cover anything you might have not gotten during the class after the class has finished without making you feel stupid for asking. From my personal experiences this is very rare since most individuals would just like to finish and get out of there without having to do extra work. Aside from Sensei Cardoso there are multiple teachers found within the school which will push you and be a guiding hand during your training. All of the other instructors within Extreme MMA are class acts and all very experienced within there disciplines such as Javi, JB, and Ray. Before joining Extreme I had shopped around Miami for Jiu-Jitsu schools but what lead me to join Extreme MMA. Goes back to the first day I went into train and I saw how much time they put into me even though I had no previous knowledge of the sport. Apart from the superb Instructors the actual training facility is awesome. The gym has ample parking space so you never have to fight for parking which is nice. As well as a good size MMA cage, high quality floor mats, and the best part the biggest freaking Plasma TV I have even seen. Sensei Cardoso is now offering all the current MMA events to be watched at the school so everyone can hang out and get to know each other better. The gym is constantly being cleaned by gym personnel which is a big plus and is very important. There is no school in Miami probably in Florida where you will find more of a family environment than within EXTREME MMA. So definitely give it a shot and hope to be training with you soon. I Started training at Extreme MMA about 2 years ago. I was 27 years old 5ft. 9in and 280 lbs then. I was introduced to Sensei Mike Cardoso and his Extreme MMA through a mutual friend. Being THAT overweight and up there in age, as you can imagine, I was very intimidated/embarrased by any type of Martial Arts Training, group ""fitness"" class or Gym. Today I'm 194lbs, still losing weight and getting even more fit by the day. Thanks to Mike and his Team, I not only get to have the healthy body and confidence that any 30 year old dreams of, But I've discovered the Art of Jiu-Jitsu. Great MMA school in Miami. They've got good kickboxing classes as well as brazilian jiu-jitsu and the classes are 6 days a week. Couple this with a moderate price and I""VE GOT A NEW GYM! The space is great, It's fully matted with a octagon and several bags. more
