I was in town visiting a friend and failed to get my hair done before I left home (i.e. MI). After being referred to this shop by a friend with great hair, I looked online and noticed that they offered a 20% off discount for first time customers. Amazed by the prices, discount, and location; I tried to call to make an appointment to get my hair done but no one ever answered the phone. Determined to try this great shop, I walked to the salon from Brooklyn Heights and was greeted by the owner (i.e. Natasha). She was pleasant and told me about their different hair treatments. Since she confirmed that new customers received 20% off all new services in our conversation, I decided to return the next day to get a press and curl, conditioning treatment, pedicure, and Brazilian wax. My appointment was for 3:00pm but I didn't leave the shop until 9:00pm which I consider a long time to be in a salon even for services rendered. However, the worst part of my experience was when I got to the register and the staff told me that I would only receive the 20% off my hair style and none of the other services. Even after speaking with the owner about the situation, they didn't change their price to what she and I discussed in person in the salon the previous day. When I reminded her of our conversation the previous day, she told me that she had misspoken. I liked my hair but the other services were OK. I completely felt taken advantage of and paid the requested bill just so they wouldn't call the cops on me. :-/ Pros: Atmosphere, hair products, hair maintenance Cons: Customer service, integrity more

I went in last week after being referred by my sister and what an amazing job. Truly 5 star service, no wait, omg. I'm so sick of the typical salon with dirty surroundings and your stylist working on 6 other women. Not Here. They were on time, friendly, my stylist Tiffany was so amazing. They use organic products. The salon feels like a spa wow! wow! Finally, a true 5 star salon in brooklyn. Simply Amazing!!! more

I really enjoyed my experience here. Natasha is great! She's knowledgeable, courteous and respectful of your time. I'm growing my hair natural and she is very supportive of this process. She listens to what you want and infuses that with what you need. And the best part is that you're in and out quickly but you still get a great salon experience. The staff is great and the assistants give the best shampoos I've ever had. She's a little expensive but I'm learning to budget my money so that i can go at least every two weeks. I visited Evolution Green Room for the first time last week. I was in bad need of a touch-up and a deep conditioner.\r \r My sylist, Tiffany, exceeded my every expectation. She was kind, friendly and very careful in the selection of the appropriate relaxer for my hair type and the application of the same. \r \r I was also given a deep treatment which immediately resolved my damaged hair issues. \r \r I am very pleased with Evolution Green room and will be returning on a once a month basis. more

I went to this salon after researching salons in the area. I was looking for a place that would style natural hair since I have gone natural (without a relaxer) the last year. After doing my hair myself and getting frustrated, I went to the salon with my hair looking a mess!! I was a bit ashamed of its condition, but I have come to the conclusion that I can't do it myself anymore. I walked in thinking that I was just going to give up and get a relaxer but the stylist Shoshanna convinced me that I didn't need one. She was also natural and flatironed and cut my hair. I must say that it looks better than it ever has with a relaxer. It looks healthy and shiny. I guess I am hooked. Pros: Great stylists, friendly staff, clean salon... I was referred to Natasha by my good friend Renee. I had been going to another salon and stylist recommended by a different friend. She completed jacked my hair. She over relaxed and over dyed my hair. I was desperate. I decided to give Brooklyn a try. I sat in Natasha's chair in tears. I had what we jokingly now call a ""landing strip"". The whole middle of my hair was gone and broken off. This landing strip was due to the other stylist bleaching a strip down the middle of my head. Who bleaches and relaxes at the same time? I was duped by being told I was getting 'highlights"". Also, who highlights a patch of hair down the middle? I was floored and humiliated when I left the salon. I wanted to choke her. But when I met Natasha she calmed me down and told me very effectively what I needed to do. Since then my hair has grown out beautifully; healthy, thick, shiny and bouncy. So much so that my friends and family tease me that my hair looks like a wig. I love highlights but she warns me that I will have breakage (unavoidable with a relaxer and dye) and my hair will be dry. She is a true aficionado who studies and practices her craft. So I tried a new hair salon after being more faithful than not to my hairdresser of eight years. I usually get a press and curl and went in for pretty much the same thing but was open minded to something new. Well long story short Tiffany (the stylist that did my hair) was amazing. I have never seen my hair look so bouncy and full of life (far from the fried, died and layed to the side look that I often receive). She gave me a cut to die for and it honestly almost bought a tear to my eye because it just looked amazing. I am usually expecting the worst or mediocre results when people try to do my hair, but I see Evolution is not your everyday salon. I love the results, but the true deciding factor in my return was the fact that Tiffany was really concerned with the health and well being of my hair care and took the time to explain what she was doing and even provided me with some hair care tips. In addition, the rest of the staff was very friendly and pleasant and seemed to enjoy being there (which I often don't get at other salons). I felt so pampered and beautiful leaving the salon that I was happy about every last penny that I left behind for a wonderful hair evolution! Pros: Friendly staff, nice decor, amazing stylist. I can't begin to say enough about how pleased I am with this salon and their services! I researched hair salons in Brooklyn before moving here from California at the beginning of this year. This salon had consistently positive reviews, which spoke to the professional service and attention to hair care details, both of which, are extremely important to me. I had my first appointment with the owner today, and I was extremely satisfied with the skills and attentiveness of her staff. I had the best hair wash I have ever had in a salon. My scalp was thoroughly washed and massaged. I had highlights applied, which came out great, and my hair was finished with a nice glaze that helped my color pop even more. I was also very pleased with my final style, and the extra attention given to my dry scalp problem. I am definitely a salon snob, and this salon completely satisfied all of my hair needs today, so much so, that I felt inspired to write about my positive experience. Finally an inviting beauty salon with TRUE PROFESSIONALS!! \r The salon was warm and inviting. The decor lends itself to comfort and relaxation. The staff is amazing: skilled, communicative, customer-oriented!! When I walked in on the day before my wedding, I was greeted with a warm and sincere smile. I completed a questionare which was used by the stylist to better serve me. The stylist listened to me and responded to all my questions and concerns. She kept me informed about what she was doing and the products used the entire time. I felt good about being there. My maid of honor got her hair done as well. I started going here about three years ago and I have been hooked every since. After cutting off my hair to start growing it natural, I had no idea what to do with it. The staff at Evolution recommended great products that enabled me to control my curls and achieve the look I always wanted. My hair has grown beyond shoulder length in those three years and I know its due to the great hair care advice I have received. I have really learned how to manage my previously unruly hair and when I go to the salon I receive wonderful service and my hair looks amazing. My naturally curly puffy hair is transformed into a soft silky state and to top it off my hair is very healthy now. My hair has grown in length and strength since I started going to this salon. I came to Evolution based on the recommendation of one of my Sorority sisters (who always has great hair) after finally leaving a stylist that I had been with for more than 10 years. I was gunshy because of the complete lack of professionalism that my previous stylist had shown over the years. But I had no reason at all to fear as Evolution owner Natasha Paul, has created a top flight team of professional stylists. From the door I was welcomed and made to feel like family. I was charmed immediately when I was greeted by name and offered a beverage or a snack. In terms of service, I have come to expect nothing but the best styling, the best services, the best products and the best conversation. Natasha has enhanced my look tenfold in my brief tenure with Evolution. My hair is thriving and I love it. The key in that title is CARE. The stylists at Evolution, from the time you walk in the door to when you leave, actually care about the style AND condition of your hair. The first time I got my hair done here, they offered me a drink and asked me to fill out a consultation card relaying the state of my hair and the goals I have for it. Definitely different than anything else I had been to, and this was just within the first 5 minutes!\r \r Of course the style was GREAT. My stylist was truly a perfectionist and wanted to make sure every strand was curved and pressed just right. Unfortunately, because I had natural hair at the time and got a press, it reverted the same evening and I was very frustrated. I went back, and the owner of the salon gave me a free cut to make up for it.\r \r I finally decided to get a perm for the first time in my life, and I only trusted evolution to do it. I cried during the process, and instead of ignoring my tears, the staff comforted me. I truly felt like I was in a room with family. \r \r Even though I'm a working student and not quite balling outta control, I make sure to come here! It's pricey, but still pretty affordable. And for healthy hair, assurance that I'm going to get a great style without risk of my hair falling out, a staff that cares, and a warm, calm environment, I'd say it's well worth it. I have been going to Evolution for approximately two years. I first came to the salon after receiving a very bad perm. Since then Natasha and her wonderful staff have nurtured my hair back to health. I appreciate Evolution because of the individualize attention you receive, the stylists provide services that are just right for your hair at that time, you can't get anymore specific than that. My hair has never looked so great. Everyone in the salon is very friendly and welcoming, you get top notch service WITHOUT the attitude or pretentiousness. Natasha is a perfectionist who only uses the best products and can work wonders with a pair of scissors. Natasha and her staff actually cares about your hair more than making a quick buck. more

I've been getting my hair professionally done for over 15 years (it's a lot of hair to manage ;) and I must say hands down, that Evolution has provided me with the most consistent, postive and all-around beautiful salon experience. They always start on time which is very importnat. There's always someone to take your coat and offer you a tea or water. It's the little things about the salon that make the experience unique for me; for example, their fruit and cheese platters on Saturday mornings. The hair services and products are great. The stylists and owner greet you by name and are really into your hair health and you as a person!\r \r I've been going to Evolution for over two years and I don't plan on going anywhere. The Green Room was an absolutely amazing experience! I had Natasha do my hair and she was fantastic! She is very personable and great at her job. I had been growing it out, and it was just long and limp but Natasha made my hair come to life. My hair now has tons of body and she even showed me how to maintain when I do it at home. \r \r I would highly recommend going in, they really changed the way my hair is, and I am so grateful. I work for essence magazine and friend of mine told me about this great salon that I should visit, now if anyone are familiar with the magazine, you know our staff is constantly on the look out for the best thing, so I decided to visit. Well for starters the place is beautiful, I felt a sense of calm,warmth and tranquility when I entered. My stylist Natasha,greated me and we sat down for a consultation, that is rear these days in ethnic salons, half of the time you don't even know who your stylist is going to be untill it's time to style you. I truly felt pampered at Evolution, they even have a beautiful garden area where you can relax and have a beverage. Even though they are on point with the no waiting policy, if you ever had to, trust me you would not mine. I must say this salon out did there self and should be considered a 5 star salon. I came out looking fabulous, I looooove my hair. Thanks to Evolution, I finally found a salon family. I must admitt I was a little turned off by the last customer review I read when I was researching a salon that's convenient for me. However, I was very curious because it's hard to find salons that is top knotch when it comes to quality customer service, and then I said to myself in every salon there is always a stylist that is good but not great. To make a long story short I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very warm and friendly, that's always a plus for me, I proceed to schedule an appointment and the policy was explained to me so I won't recieve any unexspected suprises about price or anything else. I was givin an appointment with Natasha, the owner. Lets start out by saying, I am very picky when it comes down to my hair, but Natasha was able to exceed my expectations. She is amazing, not only does she listen, she was very knowledgable, which made me feel very comfortable. It's an unfortunate situation that the person who wrote that last review was unhappy, she could not have gotten her hair done by Natasha, because if she did, trust me she would not have written a review about sad hair. Not only does this salon exceed your exspectation only quality customer service they do great hair.
