l LOVE getting my hair done by Lisa!!!! she always knows just what to do and i always feel great when i leave. Although she is very popular and has a large clientle, i never feel neglected. Her assistant (lisa helped train her) is very well educated and they work together like a well oiled machine. best salon everrrrrr!!!! more

I've been going to Elon for many years and for the last several years I've been seeing Lisa. She is good at what she does. Friendly and talkative? No. She has an assistant (who is great), but Lisa works to get you in and out, that is all she cares about. I deal with that because they are so darn good at coloring my hair that I continue to go back. So during my consultation this last time, I let Lisa know I just wanted my hair colored, a few highlights but I 'couldn't break the bank right now', no haircut and could they please dry my hair. So the visit goes fine. At the end her assistant, Mia, dries my hair and then I go to pay which I notice is really expensive. After changing into my shirt, I come back out and question the cost and come to find out I was charged $28 for having my hair dried. WHAT??? You think you could have told me that upfront? . Especially when I comment on not being able to 'break the bank'! Never has she charged me for that before. They don't include drying your hair if they only color it evidently. I've learned over the years that they will charge for all sorts of things and not tell you. YOU have to be the one to ask.\r I called later to voice my opinion with the Manager, Erin, about this and all she had to say was ""Thank you"" and then hung up the phone. She only said that after I told her that they had lost a client. Shows you how much they care about their clientele. more

I have been a loyal customer for more than 6 years at Elon, but after service yesterday, no more! Don't trust the cashier (young girl with no apparent morals) with tip money for the stylist and assistant! Sad to have to report this: When I paid for services at the cashier counter, the cashier added figures incorrectly in her head with overcharge; then, once the figure was corrected plus adding a $30 tip for the sylist and assistant, she did not give me the cash! About 15 minutes after I left the salon, I called to be sure the cashier gave the $30 to the stylist and she actually stunned me by lying, saying she gave me the money! I was in my car and my wallet was empty! I am a doctor and know for a fact the young girl lied and did not give me ANY cash but instead handed me my bag of shampoo and conditioner. I asked to speak with the manager and was told they were not there. I insisted that the $30 be given to the stylist and the receptionist said they would count the drawer money later to determine if the $30 was there. Interestingly, I called back in the morning and asked to speak to the manager and was again refused. I wanted to ask if the $30 was given to the stylist and was angrily told by the receptionist that they found the $30 in an envelope in the smock hamper with the stylist's name written on the envelope. The receptionist further stated that they had me on tape receiving the money and tossing it in the hamper! Well, now that is a bold faced set of lies! When you actually think you can convince someone they not only received the money but forgot and now also forgot they put it in an envelope, forgot they wrote someone's name on it and also forgot they went into a room where smock hampers are when I NEVER went into that room after paying for services.....well, the lies are really adding up! The young girl clearly wanted to cover her tracks by hiding money in the hamper and pretending I left it there. I was again stunned by the angry receptionist's comments that I would no longer be allowed to book appointments because I accused their staff of taking the money. Really? For telling the absolute GOD's truth, they prefer to believe the young girl cashier over a doctor who has absolutely NO REASON to lie! So......final note here......as a well trained professional with immaculate attention to detail and absolutely no reason to play games or not pay someone.......it's very sad to have to report these facts so anyone else can make an informed decision and protect themselves from similar incidents likely to happen again with the cashier at Elon! Past behaviors and performance are a very good predictor of future performance! Beware and make sure you handle tip money yourself and give directly to stylist. Don't trust Elon cashier! YIKES!!!!!!!! more

I used to go to this salon back when I was in high school/middle of college. I started off seeing DeeDee(who is related to the owners, I believe she's the sister..or something), but DeeDee never actually did my hair she always had her apprentice, Nicole, do my hair. When Nicole was promoted to a stylist I eventually just switched and continued to see Nicole. After a while I felt like I was being over charged for mundane blonde highlights, and Nicole would never do exactly what I asked. That's my biggest pet peeve about hair stylists. I'M the customer, I'M paying you. You're not doing ME any favors by not giving ME exactly what I want. I can understand a few slight alterations here and there, but to give me something far from what I even asked? Unacceptable. I eventually stopped going here, they're way overpriced. The products named ""Acacia"" are for the granddaughter of the owner's, they're not even good products..and again terribly over-priced. I believe Acacia even works there, and she's extremely snotty. Many salons later I am happy to say I have found one that I trust and love. It's called Vivid Salon in the Virginia Highlands for anyone who is interested. Don't waste your time at Elon Salon! more

TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! I went in for blonde highlights and the stylist, Cheryl, turned my hair red/orange and very brassy. It was horrible. She didn't leave color on my hair long enough for it to lift and didn't use a toner. She offered to redo it after I had already been there for two hours getting it foiled. I decided that I didn't want the double dose of chemicals on my hair and scalp and quite frankly, I didn't want her to touch my hair again. She also offered to mix up a purple shampoo for $16 for me to buy so that I could correct her mistake!!! TRUST ME DO NOT GO THERE unless you want your hair ruined!!!! more

Found the best salon after years of searching 11/17/2012

I have been looking for a salon in the Atlanta area for quite some time, and have finally found the perfect one with Elon! My stylist listened to ever detail that I asked for, and really sat with me to make sure things got done to my liking. I have recommended Elon to many friends now and they all have received the same excellent service. I could't be happier! more

My hair was really messed up and they took me right in and fixed it. That's what I get for giving my friend (just out of beauty school) a try at coloring my hair. Thank you so much Lisa for fixing me! more

I love Elon! It just depends on who your stylist is. My stylist is Natalia and she is great! She is really nice and young, so I can relate to her. I have the most thick hair in the world and she made it managable. I also think she did m highlights and it was amazing! more

Do not ever go to Elon Salon in Marietta!!! 4/11/2012

Do not ever go to Elon Salon in Marietta!!! \r \r I had the most terrible experience with the stylist and manager concerning my visit 4/9/12. The stylist, Acacia, was 30-45 minutes late and never apologized. I told her about how I wanted my hair cut which she totally ignored, the color and highlights are not acceptable. It looks like she took a bowl around part of the top of my hair - this will take months to grow out. I cannot see any highlights - what I see is orange. I told her to leave the towel on my head after washing it as I have a cold. She did UNTIL she decided to sweep the hair off the floor - wet head - at the doctor Tuesday for antibiotics. I had a coupon for most of the services, but still OWED almost $100 - a rip off! \r \r When I talked to the manager he refused a refund - he would redo it - why would I want to?! Rude man who told me not to tell him how to run his business and he would not be threatened when I said I would have the charge on my credit card reversed, he sai more

Good style and color. 3/29/2012

I used to go to Elon regularly about 12-15 years ago, then my fave stylist left, so I did too. Recently, I receive a complimentary cut & color coupon. I had to wait about 2-3 wks for my appt, which was a bit of a let down. When I went into the salon, I was greeted and only had to wait about 5 minutes. My stylist was professional and listened to what I had to say. I got a nice cut and color. Overall the experience was OK. The salon seems like it is trying to be upscale and comes off a bit 'cold'. more

I am always happy with Elons 3/24/2012

I have been going to Elons for many years, I love this salon, it may be the best I have ever been to, anywhere!! It is clean, beautifully appointed, efficiently managed, and always friendly. Lovely people every where! Try Nina, she is my stylist... Best of all the prices are fair and the results are outstanding. I often get compliment and eagerly recommend Elons and Nina to friends. Some people can never be pleased, from some of these reviews. I encourage you to give it a try for yourself!! more

Stuck up! 2/17/2012

I visited Elon after receiving one of the mailers for a "complimentary" cut and color. From, the start the stylist was unprofessional, uninterested and unfriendly. The impression I got was that there were a lot of resentful stylists upset about having to deal with customers with these mailers. After initially reviewing their website, I was excited about an interesting cut and color. Turns out, I walked out with a trim and some boring blond highlights. To top it off, it wasn't even all "complimentary". Clients beware!! more

Only looking to rip you off!!! 2/11/2012

Long story short, I made an appointment for color with a Master Colorist, Flonnie (also the owner) I didn't find out she was the owner until checking out at the register. I wanted the balayse technique for color I'd heard so much about. She insisted on doing foils. Then asked if I wanted a cut. I said ""NO"". she insisted on trimming a few pieces anyway which took her all of 20 seconds. She said they were uneven. Not too happy with my color but not complaining I went to the register to pay. There I got a shock as I was told my bill was over $200. I asked why, and was told 49.99 for a hair cut I never got, nor wanted. 30.00 for a protein conditioner they put on my head (they don't tell you its 30.00) and $99.00 for the foil technique I didn't want and another 30.00 for color gloss. When I asked for a manager Flonnie stepped up and said she was the manager/owner. I proceeded to tell her I wanted the haircut charge and conditioner charge removed from my bill as I never got a cut and wouldn't have had the conditioner had I known the price. She refused. Never have I dealt with such an unprofessional business woman. I was completely ripped off. I will never return to that salon. Beware, sneaky and unscrupulous owner and staff. Unbelievable. more

BEWARE Training School Salon 2/1/2012

Went there for my appointment and found out my stylist, who I loved, had left. They offered another stylist who was a Master at highlights. She totally ruined the look I had loved. When I asked to speak to management, they were "not" available. I called the next day to complain. They said management would call me back. After speaking to Flonie, I was told either she or Don would do my hair as they would like to keep me as a customer. \r \r Don said he would fix my hair and I would be more than satisfied. He had a newbie wash & condition my hair. Someone else mixed the color, someone else put the foils in my hair. Don stopped by to look at my foils, while I was under the dryer and said "you are going to love your color". He snipped some of my hair, then handed me off to someone else who finished styling me. I never saw Don again. I did complain when they tried to charge me. The manager came up and said they would take care of the bill after I started telling new customers n more
