I think that they should be a little more upfront on possible details. When they got here they were trying to upsell me on everything. I wish that was disclosed a little bit mor...

Great work 8/6/2013

Chuck from Allied came out the first time to do a full vent cleaning and dryer cleaning with a Groupon deal. We had to pay extra because we had more vents than what was covered and I upgraded to the brush cleaning. He was very efficient and took pictures of our vents before and after to show us. Our house is 25 years old and never had the vents cleaned so the before and after were pretty remarkable. The only problem was that our dryer vent got plugged in the process because it vents under our deck and he wasn't able to get to it the first time to snake it out. We noticed a lack of air in the dryer and clothes weren't drying. We contacted Chuck again and he said he was just leaving his last job of the day and could be over in 15 minutes, which was extremely appreciated. He and his co-worker worked on the dryer vent from both ends until the clog that was located by the outside dryer vent broke free. They even crawled under the deck while it was raining to work on it. Now everything is working great and we weren't charged for the return visit. Overall, I have been very pleased with Chuck's level of customer service and the job he's done. more

Transparent process 3/11/2013

Hoffman Heating and Air was a good company. They were on time and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. The bill was what we expected, and the service was great. Happy to have used their service for a combination of repairs and installation. more

They could have done better. 12/17/2012

I wasn't home, nor was my wife, when they came to clean. When we got home and inspected the job, some things were cleaned but other things I would have expected to be clean weren't. RESPONSE FROM Duct Cleaning Twin Cities: Thanks for your honest review John. For this very reason we always request that one or both of the homeowners are present. Please call our office and reschedule when both of you are present and we will come out again to clean the additional items. We always recommend the furnace clean and check, but didn't want to do it without your permission. more

It was good overall. 11/19/2012

Duct Cleaning Twin Cities talked me into more work than I originally planned. They did alright cleaning the ducts. They noticed some furnace issues, and did a furnace tuning as well. It added an extra $200 to the bill, which was kind of strange, but I didn't mind too much. RESPONSE FROM Duct Cleaning Twin Cities: Thanks for the honest review. I spoke with the guys and reminded them to never leave a customer feeling pressured in any way. I apologize if the suggestions the techs made may have came across as seeming pushy or aggressive. They felt the added services they provided in your case, were very much needed and that the furnace definitely needed to be cleaned. In most cases, when the furnace is not functioning properly, the additional money you spent having it cleaned, will be saved in lowered utility bills.Generally, within the first 6 months or less. Thanks for your business and we hope you will continue to count on us to clean your heating and cooling system in future years. Sincerely, Dave Trosdahl Sales Manager more

They did what they advertised they would do. 11/13/2012

Duct Cleaning Twin Cities came out and cleaned the duct works in my house over 18 months ago. I've had no issues with any of the work done. more

Service was great. 11/8/2012

We needed our vents looked at. Duct Cleaning Twin Cities came in, looked at the vents, and cleaned them. They didn't even charge us the full amount because the problem was due to another issue and the vents were fine. more

No problems. 10/24/2012

I don't remember any problems with and not much specifically about the experience. It was a furnace clean and service, and they did duct work as well. more

Satisfied, but not wowed. 10/16/2012

Yeah, we got our furnace first from Hoffman Heating and Air, and that seemed like a smooth process. I had no complaints, but there was nothing outstanding or noteworthy also. We also got our air conditioning through them. We just had a little bit of a problem with that because the person that installed it did something incorrectly. We had to have them back later, and it was kind of a difficult, drawn-out process that shouldn't have been. Someone initially diagnosed the problem incorrectly. That just worried me for a little bit because it was such a big purchase to me made. I started to doubt the decision to go with Hoffman, but I did talk to the owner about things, and I guess he resolved them. We received no kind of compensation to help with the hassle, which would have been nice, but everything was fine. I'm hopeful the units won't fail or trouble us in the future. RESPONSE FROM Duct Cleaning Twin Cities: Thanks for the review Lindsey. We're sorry to hear that your air conditioner installation was less than you expected. Furnace and AC installation can be rather challenging since it's a retro fit of the previous equipment. Much depends on the way the old system was installed and what it is being replaced with. Generally, replacement goes very smoothly, as did your furnace installation, since we have very experienced technicians with years of experience. The AC caused us some unexpected problems, but it was fully covered under warranty and was rectified shortly after. As with anything, sometimes we are supplied with faulty components direct from the manufacturer which, as I recall, was your situation. We are positive you wont have any more problems and it has worked fine all season long for you. I'm not aware of any manufacturer who will "compensate" for faulty components, especially when nothing was damaged. You could try writing Lennox directly if you like, but am doubtful you would receive anything, since they were able to rectify it by using our company. more

Quick, Professional, and Reasonably Priced. 9/18/2012

I spoke with Tony and he worked with us to get a great price on dryer vent cleaning for our 65 unit apartment building. The technicians Jason and Chuck arrived on time and did an outstanding job. We recommend Twin Cities Duct Cleaning to our other properties and anyone looking for a professional company with great customer service at a great price. Thanks again Tony. I did like the work Duct Cleaning Twin Cities did. 8/15/2012

They were professional, and they actually came out to the house twice. The first time they came, they didn't want to do the work because there were still crews working there. They didn't want to come in, clean everything, and not have be perfect after it was done. So, they came back and cleaned out the cold and hot air ducts for my furnace. They cleaned the fresh air returns and the actual exhaust vents for both the bathroom and the kitchen. They scrubbed those out, sprayed air into them, and also cleaned them with a rotary vacuum system, which goes inside and sucks out everything. Then they sanitized them with a spray. Jay Ferris RESPONSE FROM Duct Cleaning Twin Cities: Thanks for the kind words Jay, the guys love hearing back from their customers and so do we. They were right in advising you to wait until afterwards, otherwise they could possibly get dirty again. We look forward to working with you again in the near future. more

They did not clean anything 8/6/2012

On 7/25, two men came to clean our HVAC system. They spent most of their time trying to convince my wife to buy extra services, some of which she agreed to. The final bill was: Roto Brush (air duct cleaning): $189.00 Furnace clean $65Outside A/C (Free bonus) Furnace chimney: $69.95Plus tax, which totaled $346.96 They spent all together about 45 minutes at our house. Couple days later, I decided to look into the system to see how clean it is and noticed that it is still extremely dirty. In the lower portions of the duct system, there is about 1/2 inch layer of dust and the outlets in the rooms are very dirty too. (I can provide photographs)The air-conditioning unit is still dirty too. In other words, they didn't clean anything even though they did bring a large hose into the basement from their car. I called them this morning and spoke to the owner Scot, who said he would call me back within half an hour but he never did. When I called back again (from a different number, because my original phone is being ignored) he said he would call back within an hour. He never did. From reading other complaints on BBB, this is their standard procedure. They ignore the phone calls. This is a total scam. Please be ware of this company or any of these associated companies: Allied Furnace Cleaning; CleanMyFurnace.com, Duct 911, DuctCleaningTwinCities.com, Hoffman Refrigeration & Heating RESPONSE FROM Duct Cleaning Twin Cities: Whew, where to begin. :P In business there is a saying that 20 of your customers will create 80 of your problems. We have had the pleasure over the years of having little or no real problem customers...until you, Pavel. As stated, you were not present when our techs came out to your home the first time. As you can clearly tell by our other reviews, Jason & Chuck aren't pushy sales people. They are duct cleaning technicians who spotted obvious things which needed to be suggested. Had they not mentioned them to your wife, they would have been doing your whole family a disservice. Your wife agreed to their suggestions, so our techs did the work. Our guess is you came home and discovered your wife spent more than you had planned and set out on a course to get your money back. We offered a re-clean, which you agreed to and was done to your satisfaction. When asked if the re-clean was done satisfactorily, you told our technician yes. Even your neighbor, who was present, said you were being unfair and hard on our techs. A white glove...seriously? Who does that? When we pulled your chimney cap off, it was full of rust! Of course you could write your name in it even after it was cleaned, it's rust. We're not in the business of metal restoration, Pavel. You need to get your chimney cap replaced. While we've had complaints in the past (generally time crunch issues), we've quickly straightened them out to the very best of our ability. You on the other hand, had us come out a second time, told us the job was satisfactory and then are still complaining and demanding a refund. After the way you treated our tech and the thorough job he did in spite of it, we will not be refunding your money. It is not easy to say this Pavel, but we think it is in the best interest of both parties if you bring your future business elsewhere. more

Extremely efficient. 7/30/2012

Overall, I had a pleasant experience with Duct Cleaning Twin Cities. They were professional, fast, and friendly. The service was extremely efficient. more

Really happy with them. 7/26/2012

Well, it started with my salesman, Steve, from Hoffman heating and air who was wonderful. He walked me through everything having to do with my furnace, which was from 1948, and that meant they had to do a lot of different things. When he went through the cost, it was right on the money. There were no overages or anything like that. The workers came when they said they would come to remove the old furnace and put in the new furnace and AC unit. They did all that in one day. They came back in the Spring to set up my air and sent somebody out to clean my ducts. Everything they said they would do for the amount of money I paid, they did. To me, that's great because I always run into companies that say one amount, then run into things they didn't anticipate, and I end up paying more. So I'm really happy with them. more

Always responded quickly! 7/10/2012

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/4/2012

We were moving out of our home of 10yrs and the closing required professional cleaning of the ducts. The ducts really didn't seem that dirty, but we had never cleaned them so...Duct Cleaning Twin Cities gave us a great price and then did a fantastic job by not spreading the dust everywhere else. more

Honest, professional, pleasant to work with 5/31/2012

Duct Cleaning Twin Cities was very nice over the phone, they showed up on-time for the appointment, and they even went over things we didn't think about that needed to be done. They were very honest about what could wait another year to be serviced, and they were professional as well as very nice. My mom was here the second year that they came and she said they were very nice to her-and she doesn't say that about anyone normally. Very easy and nice to work with. more

Late to do job, job done fine 5/8/2012

I called in the morning and Duct Cleaning Twin Cities gave me a time slot from 12-2. At 2:15 I called to see where they were and there was a misunderstanding and they couldn't come until 5pm. It was inconvenient to my whole day and they did not reach out to tell me the change. I felt they were in and out really quickly and the work was done just fine. RESPONSE FROM Duct Cleaning Twin Cities: Once again we extend our apologies. We had a flurry of jobs that week and one of our staff was out sick. Still no reason for it and that's why we made sure to get it done in a timely fashion, while still doing a thorough job. Next year when we come out, I guarantee that we will show up on time. Thanks again for your patience and your business. more
