I thought her website was good and just what I was looking for. An integrative md who was experienced with biodentical hormones and low thryoid. I have been treated by two other integrative mds for those 2 things. \r
I had filled out the intial patient forms, which were quite detailed. When we first met, she told me that she wanted to get a ""feel"" on when my symptoms had started, what were symptoms, how the symptoms had changed and what I had taken and how I had felt while I was taking those medications. \r
She started on the thyroid medication, which she looked up in a book. She told me that my dosage was extremely high. I've been told that before. She talked about doing another blood test to determine my current levels. I asked if she used body temperatures to determine thryoid levels. I have had 1 integrative md who did that and did not take blood tests. Her response was extremely sharp, change in tone and said that she just explained how she determined what my thryoid level would be. She obviously did not like that question and was obviously bothered by it. I was shocked by her reaction and change in deamoner. She had not said the only way I determine thryoid levels is by a blood test. Right then I had decided that I didn't want to have her as my doctor. She went on to ask about the biodenticals which we discussed for a while. We went into her examining room, where she did several things. During this time she again got very short and raised her tone when testing my reflexes. Again I was shocked. Why are you so upset, which was what I was thinking? At this point I'm thinking I should of just gotten up when she was intially became short, said this was not what I was looking for and walked out. However, I went back into her office. She said that she wouldn't be able to treat me. That she had never heard of my thryoid medication, which is C-Liothyronine(T3) a compounded prescription, 2 integrative mds had prescribed that to me in the last 2 years. She also did not know how to determine what dosage I should take, since I had been decreasing the dosage because I was running out of the prescription, The third reason was that I had a weak reflexes. She gave me a name of a thryoid doctor who would know how to measure what I should be taking. \r
I went to wait in line to pay my bill, She was standing close by talking to another patient. She came up to me and said she wasn't going to charge me for the office visit, I could leave and that should make both of us happy. I thanked her and couldn't get out of there fast enough.\r
\r
Was she upset because she didn't know my thyroid medication and what to do with weak reflexes? I don't know. Still that is no excuse for her behavior. Never during the course of this intial office visit did she apologize to me. Enter at your own risk!!!!!\r
