Both Matt and Rob were at my house doing the AC and Furnace installation last Friday. They did a great job working as a team and not stepping on each other when they were down in the basement with mid size space. They divided tasks properly and knew exactly what each other had to do to get the job done. I work as a project manager and know that some of the tasks were dependent of other tasks. They know how to fold the project plan very well. Great job for both of them. more

Beware of Doctor Fix-it!\r I called them for maintenance on my furnace. Anthony G. pulled out the blower wheel to show me it was dirty and it would be $200 to clean it plus $200 to replace the capacitor that was registering at 8.9 instead of 9.4. He also said the evaporative coil was very dirty, but could only be seen if I crawled inside to look at it, which I did not do. That would be $900 to clean.\r I asked why it cost $200 to replace a $6 capacitor and he said that is the minimum repair charge. \r I didnâ??t have him do anything beyond the maintenance work.\r I ordered the capacitor on line with 2 day shipping for $15 and replaced it myself in less than 10 minutes.\r After he left I could hear a squeal when the furnace came on, but not loud from upstairs. Quite a different story when I was in the basement a few weeks later when the furnace came on with a loud squeal, so I called them back out.\r Kevin said the noise could not have been there when Anthony G. left or he would have heard it then. He said the blower motor and the blower wheel were creating the noise; the system is in poor condition and recommended system replacement with furnace and AC running as high as $12,000. He also said he would be surprised if the system lasted two weeks.\r Of course I warned that I would be getting a second opinion.\r The second HVAC company that came out voiced a much different opinion. They said they donâ??t pull the blower wheel out to service it because it has weights on it, much like a car wheel, and they can fall off or be moved a bit if the wheel is pulled out, causing the wheel to wobble and eventually could lose the blades. This also has an impact on the blower motor potentially causing it to have play in it and replacement necessary. They could not say for sure that this problem was caused by Doctor Fix-it, but â??oddly coincidentalâ??. They replaced the blower wheel for $200 and the blower motor does now have some play it, but hopefully will last for a couple years. They also showed me that the evaporative coil was NOT dirty.\r Doctor Fix-it are crooks and tried to take advantage of a senior citizen. Shame on them. more

DO NOT USE these guys, they will quote you one price on the phone, and charge way over that upon visit. Get a 2nd opinion. I had them replace a $150 part on my hot water heater and they charged me over $900, while talking me around in circles. Management is not much better. I got one voice mail from a Tasha....that was it. No more will I use them. They have lost another customer and future business! more

We had water leaking out of the disposal into our cupboard and Chris H came out, replaced the disposal and the faucet which was rusting out. He also found a leak due to corrosion in the main shut off in the basement which he also replaced. Chris was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable. He also drained our water heater to get all the sludge out and checked that the water pressure was OK. Chris finished in record time and then explained/demonstrated everything. We were very glad to get someone like Chris to take care of our repairs and will request him in the future. more

My name is Cynthia and Adam was the plumber that came to our home to fix a leaking shower. Did I say leaking; it was gushing water, hot water. Adam went out of his way to make me feel at ease and did the job quickly and professionally. The work was expertly completed and we are so thankful for the wonderful job he did. We have other work that we will need to be done in the months ahead and we WILL be calling Adam. He was so great, almost wanted to invite him to dinner to meet the rest of the family. Great guy. Thank you Adam. more

I called Dr. Fix-it to fix a toilet that wouldn't fill. I called early in the morning and explained that I needed to find a plumber who could visit that afternoon, due to my limited availability. The dispatcher told me there were still several slots available and it shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately as the day progressed there were many calls and unforeseen delays. I kept checking in and explained my availability situation, and the company sent someone out that night. Help arrived 3 hours after the end of my window, but I was grateful that the company honored their commitment.\r \r Chris H. was fantastic. He diagnosed the problem as a frozen supply line, and thawed it quickly with electric current. He was competent, friendly, professional, and polite. He also was genuinely concerned about preventing damage to my home from frozen pipes, and took the time to show me how to take winterizing steps when out of town.\r \r Unfortunately the line refroze overnight. I had difficulty reaching Doctor-Fix-it on a Saturday morning (main line and emergency line were not answered), but I was able to contact someone through the website and the company dispatched someone immediately to make it right. Turns out it was Chris H again! He re-thawed the line and then creatively solved the problem by giving me a way to continuously run water through that line during very cold weather. I appreciated his creativity and expertise. \r \r All told, 5+-stars for the technician Chris H., and maybe 3-stars for the scheduling/support staff. more

Doctor Fix-It came out to fix the electrical in my guest room in my basement. Setting up the appointment was super easy. They called to let me know when Justin would be on his way. When Justin arrived he was totally professional and friendly. He was able to fix my problem in no time! On his way out, he asked if I had anything else to fix. I mentioned a light in the kitchen that wasn't working. Fixed that too! \r \r Great customer service. Quality work! more

Great experience with everyone starting with Clauda and continuing onto Claire, Tim M, and Justin B. What a great group of people. Truly there to help with customer service so wonderful that I can not say enough about them.\r \r Had emergency situation and everyone did everything possible to help me. Justin came to the house and tried his best to help me with the financial end of the work that needed to be done. Tim Mullen had noticed the inital problem reported from Excel was actually more severe that indicated. \r My daughter lives in the house and is on oxygen 24/7 and Tim and Justin took great care in my situation and did everything they could. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs electrical work. Due to my financial situation Justin was unable to perform the work however he directed me to another company that would be able to do in house financing. This alone was greatly appreciated. Great bunch of people, the owners should be proud of their employees. Thanks for everything more

We had Detlef clean our drains, and Jon showed up to check that we were happy with our service. They were neat and got the work done right, even did a toilet tune while they were here. No more jiggling the handle! Nice to have the service people so friendly, don't see that too much anymore. Thanks! more

My husband and I hired Doctor Fix-It to re-plumb our entire house. DJ came to our house and helped us decide what needed to be done. He gave us a fair quote (we got quotes from four different companies) and was very professional. During the course of the job we had DJ, Jim, Adam, Chris H, and Detlef work in our home. They were all very polite, friendly, professional, and knowledgable. We were so happy with the guys and the work they did, that we hired Doctor Fix-It to re-do the electrical as well. The electricians Justin, Tim, and Perry. Again, they did an exceptional job. I would recommend Doctor Fix-It to anybody. Thank you for a job well done! more

I had two wonderful technitions from Doctor Fix it Plumbing, Heating and Electric. My plumber was Chris H. Instantly in could tell he really knew what he was talking about. I called about one problem my water pressure gage that was recomended to be fix by my lawn sprinker guy from ColdSnap. Not only was that giving me problems it was the cause of other plumbing problems in my home. He was great, very courtese and explained everthing that was happening and why it was happen. Thanks Chris for all your help. I hope I don't have to see you again, but if I do I will call!\r Justin B came almost at the same time as I figure that if I am finally going to get inside circuite braker fixed so that I could use the sockets on one side of my kitchen I might as well get that done. Because Dr Fix It does electric too. Let kill two birds with one call. Justin be was great. My neighbor tried to fix it and couldn't but Justin came to the rescue and did fix it. My house got hit by lightening several years ago and blew out the circuits. The fire company came checked the inner walls for fire and reset the circuit breaker outside. Everything went well, however the outside circuit breaker was scared and that was what was causing the problem. He put on a surge protector, fixed the indoor breaker and explained everthing to me. He is a great guy and professional. Thank you Justin B.\r I will definitely recommend Doctor Fix-It to all my friends and neighbors.\r Irene Resnick more

Unfortunately for me I recently had to replace my hot water heater. Fortunately for me the technitian, named Drilon, was very professional, courteous and patient. Having many questions regarding my choices of water tanks, including tankless, he was very knowledgable and patient in explaining my options. Once we agreed on what direction we were going to go, he set about immediately to task. He did encounter some unexpected situations with the vent due to the age of the house and original configuration vs. the new codes that needed to be implemented. With that in mind he explained our new options and then proceded accordingly. All in all he still completed the project in approx. 5 hours to our amazement. My hats off to you Drilon. May you continue success in your chosen field of employment.!!! more
