BED BUG INFESTAION FROM THEM!!! 4/17/2014

Huge Mistake! I purchased a Groupon Special for discount home cleaning offer from this company. Within 2 days that Distinctive Cleaning came to my home, my WHOLE family was covered in bug-bites. Turns out, our home was COMPLETELY INFESTED with BED-BUGS as a result from using this company! I have called SEVERAL times to complain and NO ONE will return my call. I was promised that Jennifer Carr, the owner would speak with me directly, and still no contact from anyone. This has cost me HUNDREDS of dollars to have these NASTY bugs eradicated - and we are still uneasy. It is the worst feeling in the world to think they are still crawling on us as we sleep. CALL someone, ANYONE else but Distinctive Cleaning. I should have read the google reviews - but I didn t and now we are suffering. Please, don t make the same mistake we did, just don t take that chance. more

Steer Clear 10/26/2013

My experience with Distinctive Cleaning started when I purchased a $150 voucher from Crowd Cut for window cleaning for my two-story home. This was in April 2012. I tried to schedule the service and got no answer once, was asked to call back once, and was told someone would call me back (and didn't) once. I finally got to talk to someone who was willing to schedule an appointment for the cleaning and was told that they would call to confirm the day before. When it got to be 3:30 the afternoon before the scheduled cleaning and I hadn't heard from anyone, I called them and discovered there was no trace of me on the schedule for the next day. The person I spoke with asked me who I had talked to. Due to his distinctive voice, I was positive that it was the person I was currently talking with and told him that. He denied it. When I said that I had had numerous hassles trying to schedule this appointment, he said that that would never happen there and he hung up on me. I didn't want to be out the $150 I had paid upfront so when they called me to "fix the complaint," I rescheduled but had to give them a credit card number to cover the tax. Two guys actually did show up in June 2012 and did a reasonable job. I was glad and had no desire to see Distinctive Cleaning again. Fast-forward to this afternoon when I looked at my recent credit card statement. There is a charge from Distinctive Cleaning on this month's statement for $164.15 -- the amount I paid Crowd Cut plus the tax. I haven't had any communication with this business since June 2012! Something criminal is going on here, and I've alerted my credit card company. Unfortunately, I haven't heard the last of Distinctive Cleaning! Steer clear of this place! more

Love Distinctive Cleaning! 9/7/2012

I read the above complaints and am very surprised as the experience I had with Distinctive Cleaning was nothing but pleasant. In fact, I called them in a panic as I was expecting company the upcoming weekend and came home from work that Wed to find that my kids had made a big mess - which with work, I could not fix myself prior to our company coming. I called and spoke with Nykole (very nice lady), explained the situation and she was able to get me in that Friday afternoon - miracle! They came out as expected - they do provide a one-hour time window for arrival which was no problem, and they did a great job! I had no issues or concerns and I would absolutely recommend them and use them again. They saved my life that weekend and I found their customer service to be exceptional. ~Shirley more

sloppy, smoke smelling cleaners- No Don't hire!!! 10/7/2011

First off I was impressed with the website! Jennifer was the contact who I discussed my cleaning needs with later I found out that she is the owner. She told me one price and then charged my account $45 more because of taxes. This was her explaination of extra charges. The house cleaners smelled of smoke and did a terrible job cleaning our house. They were fast and sloppy at what they did. They took a break to smoke and when they returned to the house they really were smoke smelling. They were not good at all with cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen floors. I should have read the posts here to see that they were not the best option to have clean my house and carpet. The carpet cleaning was done well but that was all I can say that was done right..... I suggest contacting another cleaning service.... I agree that their own employees must be doing the reviews- Jennifer is the owner and many reviews are done by Jenn or Jenny or ....you get the picture.... more

Be careful of reviews 5/9/2011

Most of the 5 stars that you see on here are their own employees who are trying to cover for the massive amounts of HORRIBLE reviews that you see here... believe the horrible reviews! Julian, the fact that you rated yourself as having good customer service is a complete joke! Maybe if you guys actually started caring about us - the customer - you would get the ratings you deserve! Distinctive cleaning deserves every single bad review that is out there. They were always late, skimp on the details and somehow we the customer get hit for it. Do youself a favor - use a different service! more

Crappy job 4/27/2011

I hired them for a move-in cleaning. For starters, they were late. The cleaners that showed up in our house were not very professional (answering personal phone calls instead of working), and did only a mediocre job: some areas were not even touched (I have pictures of some cobwebs in the living room window!), and in others they did their job halfway--some closets were cleaned, some other still have lots of dirt and crap. In any case, I DO NOT recommend this company and, certainly, they will never get my business. more

I don't care what business there in - just worst business I have ever tried to work with! The first time they cleaned my house was not happy they left my house and oven dirtier than before they began. Besides the fact they BROKE my oven! The person who cleaned I was told was a "bigger" person?! REALLY? I am now forced to take them to Small claims court because they wont fix/replace my oven. They sent out repair service and after he said it was unfix-able, they stiffed him and tried to offer me $150. I wont go into the 3 weeks of brutally horrid customer service and stupid comments like "Isn't your Oven Under Warranty". Really - does it matter when you lay on the door- do you think the manufacturer is gonna cover that? Or the fact they say there "FULLY" insured and that's why they cost a little more- but when they break something you get the shaft... Or the fact they bill you days before they come out to clean or the fact they said they would re-clean my house for free to make up for the first time, but bill me anyway?! HORRIBLE COMPANY AWFUL MANAGEMENT, use at own risk!! P.S. It's not about the oven anymore, I will replace it - but when someone tries to shaft you it becomes more about the principle than the actual damage. I doubt I will collect but hopefully someone reads this and takes note. more

Distinctive Cleaning - Not sure about the quality of work 4/4/2007

I will start off my review by saying that I have never used a maid before this – so maybe my expectations were off or maybe I didn’t instruct them correctly regarding what I wanted cleaned. Earlier this Spring I decided that I wanted to have a maid service come in for a one time cleaning of our home. We live in an older home in a wooded area and we don’t have forced air heat, so we have a lot of cob webs and dust that accumulate. I keep my home clean, but I don’t do the extra stuff very often – like cleaning the ceiling fans or getting the cob webs off the ceiling. So, that was what I wanted them to do. When they arrived, I walked them through the house to tell them what I wanted cleaned. It was the kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, and 2 bathrooms. I didn’t have them do the bedrooms since ours was under construction (we are removing wall paper and painting), my daughter was napping in hers, and the other is a storage room. I asked them to clean the insides of the windows, get rid of the cobwebs/dust from the ceiling, and then do any usual cleaning tasks. Then they went to work. When they were done, I walked around and thought the house looked good. The kitchen faucet was shiny, the ceiling fan was cleaned, and the floors looked clean. Then, after they left I started to notice everything they missed. There were things in the kitchen that didn’t get touched. There were still cobwebs in every corner of the house. They bent the window screens when they cleaned the windows. And there were many other things that I would have expected to be done that weren’t. Again, maybe I didn’t make my needs clear enough when I walked them through the house, but I would have expected a little more out of the price I paid for this service. I did notice that they had other really good reviews – so maybe it was just the people that came to my home. Not sure. more
