This salon has given me the best experience. The atmosphere is always professional and efficient. Not to mention the convenience of same-day appointments, the owner Ms Grace is ...

I am in love with my senegalese twists. I was so impressed at how fast it went. Grace and Ruth are excellent! They are super nice (and funny). The work they did on my head and of those I saw in her shop, is the best I have ever seen. If you are looking for any type of style, CCFAB is where you MUST go. It has to be the best in the Triangle, hands down. Thank you Grace and Ruth! You have made me very happy...and hubby loves it too :-) more

I got Kinky Twist on yesterday with Grace... Love them... 2/12 hours in and out... Grace is awesome, professional and friendly, she makes sure you are comfortable and the thing I loved the most, I did not have to take tylenol afterwards... she did not try to pull my scalp out, very gentle and very knowledgeable about hair, hair texture and what braids are best for what types of hair to insure there is no breakage... Oh and did I tell you, she will remove them for free.... Well Raleigh and surrounding areas me and my girls will be back again and again and again...AWESOME experience... Thanks Grace and I pray your continued success, I am so glad to know there is a braider in Raleigh who cares about their customers. more

I've never had braids before and never used any color in my hair, and I wanted both, so I did alot, I mean ALOT of research to find the best braiding salon in Raleigh (where I now live), and the most top reviewed place around was Customers Come First African braiding. So I called made my appointment, and now I will never go anywhere else but here and no one is allowed to braid my hair but Grace. The color combinations she picked out for my hair and style fit my face and personality perfectly. Her new book she just released has saved my relationship 10 fold, and I am so grateful for her in more than just a hairstylist - customer type of way. I told my friends and family about this place and now my sister will only come to her as well. Grace is fast and efficient. I've never had a problem with my hair and she answered every question I asked her without hesitation. I've never had a braid come out and my hair grew over 2 inches with just one set. I Highly recommend anyone and everyone looking for an amazing hair braider to GO SEE GRACE! Fast reliable service, guaranteed! Amazing doesn't even describe the type of work she does. Just go and see for yourself :-) more

Visiting the Customers Come First African Braids, Inc. salon on August 3, 2013 was a real treat for me. I drove to the salon from SJAFB, NC to this Raleigh-based shop and I was not disappointed. \r \r Grace and her staff members (which included Julia, Jerri, and Ruth) were so pleasant and professional. The salon was clean. The atmosphere was peaceful and jovial and they did a phenomenal job. The braid styles that Grace and her staff created were absolutely breath-taking and beautiful. It is clear that these professional hair stylists take pride in their work.\r \r I will definitely recommend Customers Come First African Braids, Inc. to “braid lovers” no matter where they live in Eastern North Carolina. The salon experience is definitely worth the drive!\r \r May God continue to bless Grace, her staff and Customers Come First African Braids, Inc.\r more

First time here today but I'm thoroughly impressed. Grace (owner) is very professional, kind and knows her stuff! Extremely gentle (I'm tender headed) but quick and efficient. Other staff were courteous, shop was UPSCALE and very clean. I'll definitely be returning! God bless you ladies. more

By far THE BEST experience I've had at any salon ever. This is no exaggeration. Grace made me feel very comfortable the entire time, I never felt out of place, and she made sure that I was okay for my appointment. She's also probably the fastest braider I've ever seen. I got senegalese twists and she was done in about 2 and a half hours. GO SEE HER! :) more

After a bad customer service experience at my usual braiding salon, I set out to find a new one. During my quest, I came across Customers Come First African Braids and decided to visit. Prior to making an appointment, I visited the Cary salon and met with Mary regarding styles, hair types, etc. I decided to give CCFAB Salon a try and could not be happier with my choice. My appointment was at the Raleigh location and I must say that it is the most upscale braiding salon I know. The decor and ambiance are absolutely amazing! Grace was very friendly and, as the name states, I felt like I was a priority. In addition to receiving amazing Senegalese twists, Grace showed me different ways to style my twists. Now that I know THIS shop exists, I will not be patronizing the ""other"" shops. Prices may be the same from salon to salon, but good customer service is an important distinguishing characteristic. Appearance, professionalism, and good customer service have earned my business at Customers Come First African Braiding Salon. more

Was serviced with Senegalese twist the day before Christmas and Grace did a wonderful job. This is the most UPSCALE African Braiding Shop in NC, and I highly recommend this salon! The staff was extremely professional, I was even offered a glass of Moscato wine (which was really rare for a braiding salon). I definitely would re-visit this salon for all of the future services. Grace is the Bomb! And guess what ya'll they play Jazz music on their all-star Google TV, light incense, and offer complimentary refreshments. My braids were not tight (usually when I go to a braiding shop, my brains feel like they are coming out). The atmosphere was very comfortable with Grace and Lady Mara a.k.a. Oprah and Gayle of the Natural Hair Care Industry(LOL). It was pleasing to my heart to see an African and a African-American working side by side to serve their own people in such a professional manner. I truly appreciate Customers Come First African Braids (CCFAB) for showing society that we all can work together. more

First off, I never write reviews but I had such a great experience at CCFAB yesterday that I have too. I am new to the area & I was looking for a braid shop. I came across CCFAB online & saw all the great reviews & decided to call. They answered all of my questions & I scheduled an appointment for the followng day. I got the amazing Grace. She did Senegalese twists for me at the Cary location. It was a neat & comfortable environment. She provided great customer service by being friendly & making me feel welcome. She made sure she knew exactly what I wanted. We discussed the style, size of braid, length, etc. My hair is fairly long (midway my back) and thick. Ms. Grace did my hair in under 6 hours. (in other shops it usually takes 8 or more hours). Ms. Grace also asked if she could choose the color for my hair & I trusted her. I'm glad I did bc she mixed a beautiful color for me. I usually play it safe with standard black/dark brown. But she mixed a small amount of an auburn like color & it came out lovely. She made great conversation with me & was unbelievably funny. I walked out a very satisfied customer. It's a good feeling when you feel like you got the best service & product for your money. I will definitely be returning. more

There is non like CCFAB*************** ""THE BEST!"" 4/16/2012

Come on people, your should be a shame of yourself writing all this craziness. This is the prefect example of black on black crime. You have a African braiding shop with an African American Braider of which this is the first time I have ever heard of this. It sound to me that Ms. Grace is doing more than most of us in our own community. I don't understand why is it that we as people are so stupid and selfish that we can not read between the lines. You have one of our ""sister"" doing what she need to do to survival while making a difference. She have a business that create jobs for black employees, and that cater mostly black customers. From what I know of this woman, she is a one of the best people when you get to know her. From speaking with her, i know that her intention is good and she is trying to help by bring a positive change in her own ways. I have been into many African Braiding shops and I mean ""MANY""! CCFAB is the first of their kind that do so much and go the extra mile to do what they do for their customers. When will ever have something good worth fighting for? When will we stop been the slave and become the master of our own communities? Most African braiding shops that I have been to, they don't even come close to the lever of professionalism that CCFAB provide. We have to build and encourage CCFAB to become at their best, not work over time to break them down. We move from one African braiding shops to another doing the same thing we do. Never been satisfied because most of us don't even know how to act right. The sad thing about all of this is that we never judge or complaint when we get service from the chinese, the Whites or other race, except our own. if we keep bringing our own black people down, who can we turn to? Is this what Dr. King (MLK). fought for? Is this how we will go down in history as people? How will our children ever do better, or get the respect they desire if we can not represent them or teach them well? ""Our action speaks louder than word...""! I love Ccfab and they have my business for life. Ms. Grace and the others are great and I know I will always have the best of time when go there. I have been to CCFAB at least three times, each time that I have visited the salon i have been pleased and my hair was done with in a reasonable time. The?conversations are always educational?and life changing. They offer me free wine, refreshment and drinks. Great entertainment on their google TV, they offer coupons, free braids takeout, hair included and best of all the environment is very impressive. The environment is very impressive so that I forgot were I was, I thought I was home or at ""White"" salon. Ms. Grace, you have customers for life and you keep doing what you're doing. Because you know ""GOD"" I know you will be more than alrigth. Just know that ""No weapon form against you or/and your business shall ever prosper. I love you guys and I know there're many people like me out there that appreciate and respects what you guys do. Every time I with your, I feel like I am at home and I thank your for everything. Thank you for making a different and I apologize for those who don't know what they do. more

I get so many compliments & I so love my hair! 3/24/2012

I am new to the area! I called CCFAB and Grace took the time to answer all of my questions. I had a lot of questions mostly bc my hair was damaged and my hair line is weak. The responses I obtained were detailed, made since and Grace was knowledgeable and confident in speaking about her product. Two days later I arrived for my appointment and was very pleased with the end product. I then returned about a month later for my free pin up..l she oiled my scalp, made my straight ends curly and gave me a wonderful pin up style for a wedding I was attending in NY. I will return in about 3 weeks for a touch up for new growth. Free pin up, free take out, quality hair and quality service...I love it. Most of all the energy of the place was right! Peaceful ..God's love was there! Definately, a place I will-recommend!!!!! more

RUN AWAYYYYY!!! PLEASE READ AND SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY 3/21/2012

First off let me say that I NEVER write a review. NEVER! If I'm not satisfied I just suck it up and not return but I genuinely want to save you all $180. I just feel as though it is the right thing to do. Money is too hard to come by to give it away to business' that are not going to offer their best service and best employees. I have no idea what these other reviews are referring to. I'm guessing they haven't had their braids done by really good people before to know the difference. The only reason I came to this place was because I go to NCSU and needed a place close to campus. The place was very clean and the workers were nice however, that does not make up for the poor job that the did on my microbraids. To be completely honest, if I'm paying $180 for African braids I want African braids. The young girl that did my hair was African American. Again, to be completely honest if I wanted American braids I would've went to a normal salon and paid a cheaper price. Even after I noticed that she was not African, I still allowed her to do my hair. After all it is not about ethnicity but skills! I want to also point out that it is not family ran like a lot of the African shops. She hires people and trains them which would explain the poor skills that were expressed through my braids. I feel as though African braiding requires an innate skill that you are born with and can't be taught. Let's be real, we can always tell who went to Africans and who went to ""homegirl up the street"" even if their hair was nice. The worker began by complaining that my hair was too thick and too long and my hair is neither!! I get my hair braided all the time and no one has ever told me that it was too long for micros. My hair barely touches my shoulder! Ms. Grace still came in to help her but she just initiated the braids by putting the weave in and left the salon for the other girl to do the braids (we were in the Western Blvd location). I thought this would sure speed the process up. It still took 8 hours to complete (shaking my head). If you are familiar with African braids you know that the braids are neat and the braid is done very tightly (the actual braid, not referring to the tightness of the edges). My braids were fresh but I noticed they were done loosely. To give you a visual, think about when you were little and practicing on your barbie's hair. It wasn't close to that bad but just to give you a visual of how the braid was loose. Usually when taking out African braids, you need the smallest tooth comb to undo the braid. These braids won't need that at all. A week later I'm noticing my braids look as though I've had them in for at least a month. I tie my hair up every night and take good care of my hair (I paid $180 so of course). I called Ms. Grace to let her know and she said they just needed to be trimmed. I know the reason is because the braids were done loosely and it has caused them to frizz up. I still came in and let her trim them but I was still not satisfied but there was nothing I can do. A week after having that done, I went to visit my hometown and people were shocked that I had my braids in for only two weeks. I honestly couldn't blame them and this just made me even more heated. I have now had my braids for a month and I am about to take them out. Please don't waste your money coming here!!! Save yourself the headache and drama. more

Highly Satisfied! A Service 3/7/2012

I am one who is quite leery about trying new places for my hair but from the moment I spoke to Mrs. Grace on the phone I knew this is where I wanted to go. She is very professional, down-to-earth, and personable. I could not have been more pleased with my hair. I called on a Tuesday, had an appointment on Wednesday for Senegalese Braids. The speed and skill that she did my hair with is incomparable to anywhere else in the area. She is knowledgeable and will always be up front about what is best for your hair. Most braiding salons they just do your hair no matter what but she cares about her customers and is always honest; treats you like a person and not a $$$ sign! Seriously if you are considering getting your braids done, visit CCFA, you will not be let down! If I could add a picture I would but I will be referring her salon and visiting only her salon for my braid styles :). (On a side note, the customer's do come first as they offer refreshments and wine to their guests which is always a plus) When she tells you that you'll be satisfied, she is not telling a lie! more

Very displeased with the owner!!!! 3/4/2012

I went on the website and read the reviews. After reading all the great reviews I filled out an information form on the website, not asking for a call back or anything. The owner, Grace called me two days later so I asked her about doing a sew-in for my mom and explained to her how and what she wanted on the phone, she said they could do it she even said they do the invisible part, But when we got there i found out differently and they don't do invisible parts. I asked her about doing kinky twist for me and she said they could do it also (never asking how long my hair was). She told me to go to her location on Western Blvd at 9am and she would come by to take a look at my moms hair and tell us which sew-in would be right for her before she go to her salon in Cary. more

Best Service Ever!!! 2/6/2012

I went to this place after reading various reviews in an attempt to find somewhere to go to get Senegalese twists. A co-worker of mine came in one day and she had just gotten hers done the week before. this salon came highly recommended. They were also the only salon that had hours that were flexible with my demanding work schedule. I called and made an appointment and was seen the same day. It took only three hours to get my hair done and the service was impeccable. I will definitely be returning to this place! Grace and her staff have left a lasting impression on me. I plan to refer others to visit this salon as well. more

One of my best experiences yet 1/9/2012

I searched all over Raleigh, Cary, and Durham for a place to get my hair done. A lot of the places I looked at were either in a place where I didn't feel the least bit safe or the person I spoke with was rude or short with me. When I went to CCFab I spoke with two ladies. They were EXTREMELY helpful. They answered ALL of my questions and didn't make me feel dumb for asking. They showed me a book which told you what the price would be for getting braids of a certain size which was VERY helpful (This way I knew nobody was going to change the price on me). I went to their Cary location to get my hair done. The lady who did it was named Mame (pronounced ""Ma""). She was really friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The people here are so helpful and kind. I believe it took about 7 hrs for her to do my hair, but it looks GREAT! Such a wonderful quality of work. It has been about a month and I am still very pleased with how great it looks. The prices are DEFINITELY reasonable and they will reset and take out braids for no extra cost! This has been my best experience yet (and I have had A LOT of experiences). more

AMAZING GRACE!!! 11/3/2011

I met a young lady at a grocery store and asked her where she got her braids done. She told me that she got them done at CCF. I looked it up on the internet and saw all of the reviews. I called and spoke with Grace and she gave me so much information. I set up a consultation with her for the next day. My daughter and I made the drive from Pittsboro to Cary to see Ms. Grace. I was greeted at the door with a welcoming smile. Ms. Grace spent a lot of time talking with me and telling me what I could and couldn't do with my hair. She informed me that she could just do what I wanted and take my money, but she stood behind her service 100% and wanted to make sure that I was going to be happy with her services. I have never been to a braiding salon where everything was explained to me. Ms. Grace pulled out her book and showed me what I was looking for, I was able to pick out the size and look of the braid. She also gave me the prices so there wouldn't be any surprises when I got my hair done. I made my appointment and it was on and poppin from there. Ms. Grace met me at the salon and proceeded to put in my natural twists. My hair was fairly short, but she worked it all out. I was so happy that they weren't in so tight that I wasn't able to smile, cause believe me, when I got finished, I was grinning from ear to ear. When we finished, Grace showed me how to take care of my hair. She also showed me how to style it, curl it and everything. I have NEVER been to a braiding salon to where I got half of the service that I got at CCF. All I ever got was some too tight braids and a ponytail when I went to any other salon. I had such an enjoyable time while I was there. Grace had me laughing the entire time I was there. That's another plus, she actually talks to the customer!!! Never experienced that in any other braiding salon except when they wanted my money. It was such a great experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back again and bringing my daughter for a service. Grace, you are truly amazing and what you do! I hope that other salons step up or you will have all their clients knocking on your door. One more thing, Grace believes in giving back to the community by offering free services to women who are trying to get back on their feet. Help yourself out by checking out the coupons that she has available online! more
