Service was spectacularly friendly and fast! Keep up the great work for our neighborhood. We need more businesses like you!

Worst

I've been to this place twice as it's in the neighborhood and convenient. Both times I have gone to get my NYS inspection, they recommended my shocks be replaced. The first time...

Very patient and helpful 8/17/2010

I have had a good experience. When I bring my car in and ask questions or get a call about what is needed to be repaired, the persons in charge are very patient and explain in terms I can understand. Also I am an older lady with arthritis in my hands and ask to have my tires checked. No problem. I would recommend Cobble Hill Super Service. more

This place tried to rip me off a few years ago. 8/11/2010

I brought my 3 year old car here for an inspection. They called me with an enormous bill of insane problems to fix. I called their bluff and went back to their shop for an explanation of the work. ( I'm a licensed aircraft mechanic and I understand how most mechanical things work). Once I showed up the crew backed down and said the 1000+ bill would be 300+ to get it passed the DMV inspection. Being a mechanic, I saw the scam alert going off and I took my car out of there after paying my 37 dollar inspection fee. I warned my friends but when I was alerted to this last post , I needed to make myself very clear.... STAY AWAY from this garage!!! more

**WARNING** STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! CROOKS! 8/3/2010

I took my vehicle to the Cobblehill Super Service station on the corner of Atlantic and Henry for the NYS emissions inspection. WARNING: This guy is in the business of ripping people off!!! About 2 hours after I dropped the car off I received a call from a Tony, who proceeded to ramble on quickly about what was wrong with my vehicle, which added up to $441 worth of issues. First off, I purchased this car from a family friend in Florida and my father owns a shop in Florida and had new tires, brakes, oil change, new alternator (the whole nine yards) performed before I drove it back up to NYC. I then had our shop mechanic call Tony and explain to him what was done on the vehicle. Tony quickly backtracked on the issues with the car and the $441 estimate dropped down to $250. He then became extremely aggravated over the phone call and began to get aggressive with my boyfriend and I. He even went as far as calling my boyfriend names and screaming across the shop asking us to leave. We would have loved to leave, but we needed to pay the $37 fee to get our keys back! I tried to give him $40, but he kept telling me I needed to wait for a receipt. In the mean time he continued to scream violently at my boyfriend and I finally said, ""Just take my money! I don't need a receipt."" I just wanted to get out of there at this point. I felt very uneasy and even felt like my life might be in danger at this point. Tony is not only scamming people left and right, he is extremely volatile and irate! I contacted the DMV shortly after I got home and a woman there looked up the shop in the system and was shocked to see how many complaints have been filed on this place. Please do not give this place your business. Cons: WILL RIP YOU OFF! more

AAA referred me 7/21/2010

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me on Friday. As I told you, my car developed some serious trouble in Brooklyn Heights Thursday. AAA contacted the closest service member, Cobble Hill Super Service, and they arrived with a flatbed within fifteen minutes. Not only did they arrive in record time, the driver, Abu, was helpful, careful, knowledgeable, and provided excellent customer service. I went back to the service station with him. Mind you, I was literally stranded in Brooklyn. The staff was so kind and directed me to the closest subway which took me directly to Grand Central Station. Tony Platanias, the owner, and his staff are fixing my car; which, as it turns out, is a huge and costly process. He has been patient and informative with me on the phone. I understand from him that his service comes with a twelve month parts warranty which will be honored by any AAA authorized service station if such a need should arise. Luckily, he and Jose had my car repaired today, saving me the expense of a rental vehicle. I must add, Jose was extremely kind and let me know immediately when the car was ready. I hope never to be in this situation again; however, I consider myself lucky to be a member of AAA and when such situations occur, have the unexpected care of service members such as Cobble Hill Super Service. Sincerely, Nancy more

STAY AWAY 1/3/2010

These people run a scam!! They overcharge, they lie and they are condescending crooks. I hope this place gets shut down. It is a shame. Please stay away - they are horrible business owners. I've read and heard too many horror stories ... don't let yours be next. Cons: everything more

Please stay away! 9/13/2009

I still regret the day I ever took my car to this place. The AAA towing went well enough. But it was all downhill after that. Unfortunately it took me a while to catch on. But over $1,000 later, when they still had not fixed the problem and had practically torn up my car, and after putting up with unbelievable rudeness (these guys actually put me down when talking with my husband, telling him that women have no business making decisions about cars), I finally caught on and took it to another place. They told me I did not need what Cooblehill was recommending (this time at a cost of $750). Instead I needed a small adjustment, Total: $50. My car has worked perfectly ever since. I hate to think that anyone else is giving their hard earned money to the thieves at Cobblehill Superstation. Tell everyone you know to stay away. more

horrible repair shop --- never go there 6/24/2009

I took my Plymouth Turismo to Cobble Hill repairshop for \r a 'simple' spindle bearing replacement..... WRONG!!!! The idiots actually pulled\r the WRONG side axle shaft... then rammed it back in, destroying the lip of the\r oil seal. Then I suppose they fixed the CORRECT side.... anyway, I picked up\r the car, drove a couple miles to a store. When I got out to my car, there was\r a GIANT oil puddle under it... and still dripping!!! When I complained to the \r shop, they gave me some BS about trying to get work done for free, ie. fixing\r the DAMAGE they did to the WRONG side!!!!! Not trusting their STUPIDITY\r anymore... I fixed the DAMAGED side myself(you could plainly see greasy\r hand prints on the WRONG side shaft!!!!!) NOTE TO SELF::: Fix my car\r myself next time... 'cause I had to rip it apart to fixed there GOOF anyway!!!!\r HESS TRANSMISSION=a bunch of freakin' IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r Pros: nothing Cons: everything!!!!! more

Thank God for Cobble Hill 5/18/2009

Last week, my car was towed to Cobble Hill station through triple AAA. I had a 2004 Honda that wouldn’t start and I wasn’t sure why. I was kinda of panicking about it cause I love my HONDA and it is my only means of transportation between school and work. During this time I went online and read the reviews for this place and starting having an anxiety attack. Some of the reviews were not so good and quite frankly I really hoped that i wasn’t gonna get screwed out of money that I didn’t have! The tow guy was very polite and nice to me but hey you still never know. Anyway, the next day I recieved a called from someone who worked there and he said that I needed a new fuel pump. I asked him “Is that it?” he said ” Yes Honey” and told me that I could even pick the car up after 5pm that day. I was confused because some of the reviews about this station said that it is a ripp off. The mechanic was in a perfect position to screw me out of money and he didn’t! I didn’t question it and picked up my car and thanked GOD!!! In return I am posting this review on several sites because I feel that people should also read about my GOOD experience with Cobble Hill on Atlantic and Henry!!!:) Pros: Honest11 Cons: Always busy11 more

BAD REPAIRSHOP 4/16/2009

I've had a very bad experience with this place, as did the rest of the people. The mechanis tried to come up with unnecessary repairs to charge more money. \r \r When I sensed something was wrong, they told me to pay the diagnostic fee even though no work or diagnostics was performed on the car.\r \r The mechanisms in Park Slope confirmed my suspicions and told me none of the repairs Cobble Hill Super Service came up with were needed!!\r ----\r NOTE: all good reviews below, are coming from this stations' staff, who are trying to hide the truth. Cons: high prices, unnecessary repairwork, rude staff more

Thanks for the warning 3/27/2009

I was about to take my car for annual inspection and this is the most convenient location. So, despite the fact that I have had encounters in the past with rude service - I thought that I would just go to get the car inspection done. However, after reading the other reviews I am reluctant to use this station and my feelings about it from past use have been confirmed. I don't even like to get gas here because I'm afraid I'll be ""barked"" at. Pros: location Cons: rude service more

Great Place to bring your car 3/2/2009

I was passing by their shop and noticed a sign outside that says FREE OIL CHANGE. I was amazed, I thought there is nothing free in this country, guess I was wrong. They changed my oil with no strings attached. They said it was just to meed people and make new customers. I've gone back to the a few times in the past couple of months and was extremely happy with their service. They take care of my car as if it cost a million bucks, they put seat cover, steering wheel cover and even put a paper mat on the floor. Last time I was there the mechanic explained that I will need brake pads soon but I still have a month worth of riding. In another place they would never suggest for me to come, they would try to rip me off right away. These guys are honest and great. THe best of all are their specials. more

Awesome Job 2/25/2009

My car was making funny noises and it could have been a number of things. On a recommendation of a friend I went to see Tony at Cobble Hill Service station, he diagnosed my car and told me exactly what was wrong with it and no more. Within a matter of hours I was back on the road and my car wasnt making any more noise. In fact, it hasnt made any noise since. Thank you Tony for treating my car like it was your own. Pros: fast reliable service more

Great Service 2/25/2009

I have been sitting here reading these reviews and have become very outraged, I have lived in brooklyn heights for many years and I have been going to cobble hill service station for many years and I dont know who these people are talking about. I have been treated with nothing but respect and so has my vehicle. This is an outrage, and people need to know the truth. At Cobble Hill Service Station you get treated well, your car gets fixed the right way and you get charged a fair price. Pros: everything more

Excellent Service 2/25/2009

When I was towed in to cobble hill service station , I did not know what to expect. My car had broken down on the BQE and I was worried that I was gonna be taken. After having read all the other reviews, I must disagree. At Cobble Hill Service Station I got the best possible service you could. I was worried that they would tell me that things were broken that didnt even exist. It turned out to be the alternater. They reccomended that I change the battery as well but didn't force it upon me. In fact after having the work done, i priced around the job and found that their prices were more than fair. I would go back there anytime. Pros: honest, reliable more
