I have to admit: my very first experience with Cobble Hill Super Service was great - my bumper was loose and they fixed it for free. But I was recently rip-offed by this company. My battery had died, and I was told that I simply had to have my alternator replaced. I'll never know for sure, but other auto mechanics have told me that it was unlikely that my alternator needed replacing, especially since the alternator light on the dash had not come on (my fault for not knowing about that). Anyway, it cost me $600 for a ""new"" alternator (a subsequent mechanic told me it was refurbished) and a new battery. I've been told this is practically highway robbery. more

I would use them again 10/25/2010

Very courteous and professional. They answered all of my questions and did not pressure me to have additional work done to my vehicle (but did suggest some recommended maintenance, which I appreciated.) They finished the work quickly and stuck to the price quoted. I would use them again. more

I have had a good experience. When I bring my car in and ask questions or get a call about what is needed to be repaired, the persons in charge are very patient and explain in terms I can understand. Also I am an older lady with arthritis in my hands and ask to have my tires checked. No problem. I would recommend Cobble Hill Super Service.- VBrown more

Go somewhere (anywhere) else? 9/20/2010

My car's steering pump went; AAA picked it up and brought it to this dive. When the diagnostic quote finally came back, the parts he recommended I replace were literally twice the price quote I received from the dealer, not including labor. When I questioned them, they backpedaled, then called me back to say they could match ""some"" of the parts prices with used or refurbished parts. So I called my own tow service and got my car out of there. I will gladly pay extra for a tow somewhere honest then give these crooked pricks a dime of mine. If your in a pinch with AAA, refuse to be brought here. more
