Best

My partner and I found this restaurant a few years ago and loved it so much the first time we ended up going one a week for 5 or 6 weeks straight! Needless to say our dining out ...

Worst

Because of the glowing reviews I took my finace' to The Cellar. The decor was a nice try but really skimped on some finishing touches, like picture frames and attention to detail...

Anniversary Delight 1/1/2006

OH, WOW!!! What a find this restaurant is! My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. We wanted a quiet romantic place, and we found it. With four rooms, you can have a quiet dinner for two or take the whole family out.The service was, to say the least, excellent. The wait-staff was unobtrusive, but seemed to appear when we had an empty dish or when we needed something, then disappear again. The food was delicious. I had spaghetti and meatballs, my wife had chicken serrano. Everything was just right. The wine we had, a Salice Salentino - Feudo Monaci 2003(yes we kept the bottle) was a superb complement to our dinner. We had dined at The $pace Needle the night before. The chefs there could take some lessons, so could the waitstaff. We WILL be back to enjoy The Cellar Bistro experience Pros: Great Food, Great Staff, Wine Selection Cons: No view but who cares, None more

The Perfect Combination 12/22/2005

Seattles restaurant scene is filled with many fine restaurants, but few find the perfect combination of cuisine, service, atmosphere, location and price that The Cellar Bistro provides. I have been here on multiple occasions, both in groups and on dates, and I have never been dissapointed. Service has always been prompt and friendly no matter if it was a busy Friday night or a slow Tuesday. The owner, Ken Slack, seems to never leave the place and is always willing to offer up a good wine to go with your meal. The value at this place is amazing. My favorite dish so far is the PENNE FROMAGGI. Enjoy! Pros: Atmosphere, Price, Service Cons: Space Limitations, Hard to find more

The Cellar Bistro ~ Cozy and Homemade!!!!!!! 12/16/2005

The Cellar Bistro had a kitchy Italian romantic feel. There weren't many low-fat, healthy items on the menu, but the Dec. specials were GREAT! The minestrone was a bit limp (thin & watery, the veggies & pasta mushy), but our pear salad was divine! The black pepper shrimp tasted great but wasn't much on presentation. The stuffed chicken was the piece de resistance of the meal, & was FANTASTIC!!!!!!! The veggies & pasta that accompanied it were phenomenal as well. We split the red velvet cake for dessert, and while it is spelled out on the dessert menu be prepared as this is not a true red velvet cake. It was a plain brown devil's food cake with red frosting ~ BUT, it still tasted homemade and terrific, I took the leftovers home with me! We'll be back to try again, we enjoyed the cozy neighborhood feel. more

My favorite Italian Restaurant!!! 6/23/2005

This place is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. The location is in a quiet little neigborhood, and it is underneath another restaurant. It feels like a hidden gem. The atmosphere is superb with great pictures on the wall and very cozy. It is made up of four or five little rooms, each with only 3-5 tables each. This allows for a lot of privacy. The service is great and I always ask the owner, Ken, for a wine recommendation. He is a wine expert, and will often pull out something fun and interesting that isn't even on the menu. All of the food is done exquisitely, especially considering the price. The lasagna melts in your mouth, their appetizers and salads are tasty and thier desserts are wonderful. I am going tonight and want to try the Chocolate Pear Tart. Pros: Price, Quality, Service Cons: Hard to find more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! 5/17/2005

this is a little known Capital Hill Gem. It used to be spagetti reds & even with the change in ownership-has retained it's original charm. I have gone here about 8 times over the past 3 years & have loved every visit. The dining area is set up into 3 distinct rooms (one with a large velvet pic of the godfather) & it is dimly lit, romantic AND great for larger groups too. The food is excellent no matter what you get & the price is just right! Try it-you won't be disappointed! Pros: food, price, ambience more
