I was in a bind. No car, both down at the same time. They took me RIGHT in by tow, knew right away what was up, quoted me, ordered parts and next morning, EARLY, it was done. I found them pleasant and thorough. I will use them again. more

The service I was provided by Dave and Charles could not ha very short order. They were very accommodating and reassuring that they would be able to fix the problem. And they did. They fixed a rather complicated transmission problem in short order and had me back on the road again. I can't thank them enough. Bob Lewis more

A fun & knowledgeable mechanic!! 8/3/2012

Car repair is never a fun time. But I always leave laughing from Dave. It's rare to find a mechanic you can trust, and one that you don't leave wondering if all that work "needed" to be done. Without a doubt in my mind I know Dave and his team treat me like their own. I can't thank them enough!! :) more

Outstanding 7/30/2012

Gateway in Oak Harbor and Mt. Vernon has rebuilt 3 transmissions for me in vintage vehicles. I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else. more

Great Experience! 7/15/2012

With a new to us F250 and a husband on deployment, it was not surprising that the check engine light came on. I was a little stressed out, as we have never owned a diesel truck before. I didn't have to worry! Dave and the guys at the Oak Harbor store took great care of my truck and took the time to explain what was going on and how to fix it. The kids and I are back on the road with the horses in tow. We will definitely be bringing our vehicles to Gateway, and recommending Gateway to anyone needing work done on their vehicle, from now on. Thank you! more

Professional, Fair, Thorough & Trustworthy - Highly recommended! 7/4/2012

Very knowledgeable, and thorough 7/1/2012

We first brought our 1995 Ford Aerostar to Gateway for transmission work. It had not been run for around 7 months. Gateway was very thorough, (and even removed a nest from a non-working vent!) and we were able to drive it again. We again returned to Gateway when the same vehicle blew a headgasket. It did not matter that the Aerostar was 17 yrs. old, we were treated with respect (and humor) and our Aerostar lives again! We live 45 miles away from Gateway, but would return there again. We highly recommend their work. more

Excellent service and Customer Service 6/28/2012

My Wife first took our van in for transmission service while I was out of the country for work. She felt very comfortable and well taken care of. In all of our dealings, Dave has been very open and upfront with us regarding what he felt was needed, or not needed, regarding our van, including with an incident when our Son ran over a curb, damaging the transmission pan. Dave and his business are definite assets to our community. That is why we have recommended his shop to several folks. Thanks Dave. more

Dave and Charlie are walking automotive encyclopedias, with a resource to meet every automotive need. As a customer, it's great to see how easily they meet complex mechanical needs and collaborate on solving them. Their mutual respect, knowledge, fairness and follow-through with customers is greatly appreciated. I've been a customer of Gateway for over ten years. What Dave and Charlie achieve is "trust-building"other companies are in business too, but Dave and Charlie go out of their way making it a pleasure to show up at Gateway. more

Dave (Mgr) and Charles (Mechanic) have been a pleasure to work with when I have needed various transmission services. They give honest assessments of your vehicle condition and realistic work projections. I find they are responsive to my requests and do their best to meet my timelines. Transmission shops can be a source of distress as we wish we never needed their services, but I have found Gateway a pleasure to work with. I actually take my vehicles to them for other repairs as I trust their word and feel they are trying to keep my expenses to a minimum and realistic. Thanks guys for all the help keeping me towing successfully down the road to my favorite fishing holes. more

They're very capable 6/14/2012

I take all of my cars to Gateway Transmissions. On my big diesel truck they rebuilt the entire engine. On my smaller diesel truck they fixed the suspension. They've also done various things on my Suburban. I'm happy with the work they do for me. more
