Overall, I was happy with the service and felt it was a smooth move. I felt I got a good rate. One issue was that I did get an estimate where the guy rounded down the size of my storage space based on the dimensions I provided, and when the movers came they charged me extra for the additional space which were the original dimensions I provided, although I had a solid quote. I didn't get a response to my inquiry on that, and I felt pushed into the additional fees. The movers on the NYC end were a bit aggressive about getting tipped more and I was pretty generous, that made me feel uncomfortable as I was giving what I could afford. They did do a good job packing my furniture. more

We recently moved from NY to LA and were very happy, from start to finish, with CA-NY Express Moving. Our estimator arrived on time (whereas rep's from other co's were 25-40 mins late for appts, with no calls and no apologies...) and gave us a very thorough and accurate estimate (which was exactly what we paid in the end). They were the best price we received and we felt really good knowing that they knew both NY and LA very well and had offices and crews in both places. On moving day the 4 man crew showed up on time and made quick work of the job, moving everything efficiently and wrapping all the furniture beautifully (we'd packed our own boxes). more

Their bid for the job was also nearly 30% less than the cheapest bid we had received to date for the same job. I made several calls to the company to check on the progress, and there was nearly always a person to answer; if not, they called me back promptly and took responsibility for any issues. I would recommend them highly for companies moving anything East-West or vice-versa. more

They were on time to pick up the luggage in CA and delivered it on time in NJ. The moving people were great and very professional. There were not even single damaged goods. The customer service at this company is second to none, and that is a very rare attribute these days. I was impressed every step of the way from the first phone call, to the in-person and accurate estimate, to the packing and receiving of my items. I had no worries about my stuff as it traveled cross-country. They really are there to help and do a good job and I can't recommend this company enough. There is nothing I would have changed. Every company should take lessons from these folks on customer service and efficiency! more

I recently moved from Brooklyn to the Bay Area and was so happy with my experience with California New York Express movers! The price was great (no add-on fees or surprises), the service and staff were very professional, efficient and on-time, and best of all: my belongings arrived in just 7 days! Love love love! This company has perfected the art and science of moving. They take the worry and hassle out of the process, and their rates are very competitive! Every last Q-Tip was in its place when my stuff arrived (after being stored for over a month) in LA. Super professional from soup to nuts...NYC to LA...head to toe...you get the picture! more

Amazing and easy moving 5/10/2012

These guys were fantastic. I only had 200 cubic feet of stuff and every other company told me I was way under the minimum and would quote me for over 2 grand. California New Yokr Express Moving were happy to accomodate and were extremely reasonable with their quote. Everyone I interacted with was helpful and professional. Movers were fast and kept track of EVERYTHING on both sides of the country, allowing me to sleep sound knowing nothing is missing. more

This was the first time I used a moving company and these guys were great! I used CNYX for a move from Cali to DC. Everyone I worked with was very professional and so accommodating. The price they quoted me on was significantly lower than the quotes I received from other moving companies. The movers were quick and on-time. Excellent movers 5/8/2012

We recently moved from LA to NYC and couldn't have been happier with the service. They were responsive to emails and questions before and during the process, kept us updated on where our stuff was during transit, and were accommodating to all our requests, including when we needed to extend our storage in NYC before moving in. The movers themselves showed up at our LA and NYC addresses in the time window given, and were both personable and respectful of us and our stuff. In my view, the cost was also very reasonable and there were no dodgy ""hidden fees"" or any demands for additional money. In fact, it cost less than we budgeted for. I can't recommend them highly enough. more

Fantastic- no surprises- service 4/25/2012

I moved recently from Glendale to New York City and used California New York Express Movers. I was delighted with the service. They were very organized and picked up placing a label with numbers and my name in each item. Gave me a copy and less than 10 days later they delivered everything intact. Not one item missing, everything carefully handled. The cost was very reasonable and very competitive. ABout half what it would have cost me to drive it myself in a rented truck.
