We knew from the other reviews that this would be an experience but went with the idea that we would get an idea of what type of gown to order from somewhere else. We did not have an appointment but were there early Sat morning and had a consultant right away. My friend wanted a mermaid gown and they had a whole section of them. The consultant's first pick was perfect, and she let my friend try on tons and tons. The gown was reasonably priced, and they took money off. However, we had an appt at another bridal shop and didn't want to buy the gown right then. But my friend really loved it, so they wrote up the order. Added on shipping, a garment bag, and alterations sounded like they could be really expensive. I can lend her a garment bag, and will get alterations somewhere else. Then we asked how much had to be put down. ""you have to pay in full, most bridal stores do that"" the consultant said. WRONG. We asked if she could hold that price until 5PM. She had to ask the owner who reluctantly agreed. We went to the shop where we had an appt. (See review for Belle of the Ball, even though they knew in advance we wanted mermaid gown, only had 3 after searching their one rack of dresses) Went to David's, poor quality dresses, very poor customer service. However, both said we could pay in installments. Went back to Bridaltown, got more money taken off the dress, and ordered it. NOW, the gown won't be in for 6 months so if that becomes a problem, I'll have to change my rating but I was pleased with the selection and price, and knowledge of our consultant. Obviously, they make money off of the extras so BE PREPARED and shop around before deciding. Will update when (if?!) gown comes in,
Pros: Big dress selection
Cons: Overcharge for extras, pushy
