I've chosen Bridaltown not because I have a problem with Bridaltown but because they are well known in my area. I went to Bridaltown but I ordered from a different internet site. ...

This was the first place I went looking for a prom dress. I didn't know how much it would cost or what it would be like, and I had no previous biases. At first I was greeted and...

HORRIBLE PLACE..SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! 10/8/2009

THE ONLY REASON I WENT HERE WAS BECAUSE I AM A PLUS-SIZE BRIDE AND THEY HAD A GOOD SELECTION OF PLUS-SIZE DRESSES AND I COULD BUY OFF THE RACK. I DID GET MY DRESS THERE BUT THEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED. Pros: ALTERATIONS Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE..UNCARING STAFF, OLD STOCK, RUN DOWN more

Not so bad 10/3/2009

We knew from the other reviews that this would be an experience but went with the idea that we would get an idea of what type of gown to order from somewhere else. We did not have an appointment but were there early Sat morning and had a consultant right away. My friend wanted a mermaid gown and they had a whole section of them. The consultant's first pick was perfect, and she let my friend try on tons and tons. The gown was reasonably priced, and they took money off. However, we had an appt at another bridal shop and didn't want to buy the gown right then. But my friend really loved it, so they wrote up the order. Added on shipping, a garment bag, and alterations sounded like they could be really expensive. I can lend her a garment bag, and will get alterations somewhere else. Then we asked how much had to be put down. ""you have to pay in full, most bridal stores do that"" the consultant said. WRONG. We asked if she could hold that price until 5PM. She had to ask the owner who reluctantly agreed. We went to the shop where we had an appt. (See review for Belle of the Ball, even though they knew in advance we wanted mermaid gown, only had 3 after searching their one rack of dresses) Went to David's, poor quality dresses, very poor customer service. However, both said we could pay in installments. Went back to Bridaltown, got more money taken off the dress, and ordered it. NOW, the gown won't be in for 6 months so if that becomes a problem, I'll have to change my rating but I was pleased with the selection and price, and knowledge of our consultant. Obviously, they make money off of the extras so BE PREPARED and shop around before deciding. Will update when (if?!) gown comes in, Pros: Big dress selection Cons: Overcharge for extras, pushy more

Buyer Beware -Please be careful 8/20/2009

Gown came in 6 weeks late and the wrong size, missing buttons, Had to fight to get corrections -Different story every time we called. Now less then 1 week until the wedding and no dress that fits. No apology, just more stories. No one knows how to track a shipment or call a manufacturer. This is not a place you want to trust with something important because they will not work hard to get something for you. The owner seems to not care at all as long as he is making money. He needs to get out of the wedding business, stop ruining people's weddings, and buy a gas station. Pros: Lots of beautiful gowns Cons: Too many people have problems here more

horrible place 7/30/2009

Let me just say this - I'm no bridezilla. I rarely let things get to me or had any bridal meltdowns... more

Dresses are still not here... wedding 3 weeks away! Ordered 7/22/2009

Do not waste your time... the selection was minimal, and the consultants are ""pushy"" desprate for a sale! I was called at least 4 times within 2 days about a dress I inquired about. All of the bridesmaids selected dresses and made deposits, we were told from Linda our consultant that the dresses will be here the last week of June or the 1st week of July. @ am still waiting. When I call none of the representatives can answer any question... they always say "" I can connect you to the manager"". He is always ""out for lunch"". They said that they can not even locate the dresses & confirm where they are... Simply do not add any stress to the planning of your big day! Do not even consider... YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME! more

Shivers 3/23/2009

This was the first place I went looking for a prom dress. I didn't know how much it would cost or what it would be like, and I had no previous biases. At first I was greeted and taken care of right away, but I never got the impression anyone was very friendly. My sister and I were taken to a small room and shown a few dresses. I told the woman I wanted a white dress, but she was not interested in showing me anything but the prom dresses at all even when I tried to go look elsewhere in the building. She watched over and took care of my sister and I, but I either wanted her to leave us alone or to actually help us find something we wanted, neither of which she did. I told her over and over that no dresses would fit me bc they didnt have my size and she made me try them on anyway, and they were humongous! I did find a dress that was too big that I liked for 60$ on clearance which is a good deal for prom so I was pleased and I figured I could get it altered elsewhere. My sis didn't find anything, there wasnt a very good selection, I'm just not very picky. I wasn't crazy about the dress, but the lady really pushed me into it, and then charged me a 20$ incoming gown fee, which is about 33% of the cost of the dress! That's outrageous and I almost cried when she told me. She made me fill out a form of my address name telephone number which I completely BSed bc they had no business asking me in the first place. I JUST HAD A WEIRD FEELING I COULDNT SHAKE THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN THERE. I had the urge to drive away really fast bc I got the shivers and felt funny just being there; it was weird. DON'T GO! Pros: able to get a good sale price Cons: service, incoming dress fee, setup more

Terrible selection for bridal party 3/18/2009

A group of us went to look at birdesmaid dresses. The only thing that the bride wanted us to do was get black, other then that, she didn't care what dress we picked as long as we liked it. Sounds easy, right? To start with, the woman at bridaltown was very rude to us. Lady, if you don't like your job, find another! Second, they had 1/2 of one wall dedicated to bridesmaid dresses. When we asked where the rest were, she got annoyed with us and said that this was it. So we asked if there was a section for special occasion dresses and she said yes but we didn't need to look at that because these were the bridesmaid dresses. We explained that the bride wants us to all have different dresses and she actually said, well that's just weird. We asked again to look at the special occasion dresses. Two of the girls wanted to keep looking at the bridesmaid dresses. The woman told us that we all had to go together, she couldn't leave two of us in the bridesmaid section while the other two went to the special occasion section. Like we were going to steal one of those hideous, butt ugly things? How? Were we going to stuff a fluffy dress in our handbag and make a run for it? Maybe this place is great for wedding dresses because they had 2 buildings of those but for bridesmaids, they were TERRIBLE! more

Horrible Experience! 2/13/2009

The only good experience I had with this place was Anna Marie the seamstress. The only reason I went here in the first place was to get my dress that I bought online altered. We happened to see a bridesmaid gown that we liked. I think most of these gowns have been hanging around since the place was rebuilt back in the early eighties.....there is no maintenance happening on these building,,,,our salesperson who seemed quite knowledgeable during the sale ordered all of the gowns at least 2 sizes too big....and my wedding date of December 13th rapidly arrived without the dresses. We bought off the shelf the first weekend in December so my girls would have dresses. When I called about the dresses I was told they would ""definitely ship tomorrow probably"". (this was December 2nd)Nice conflict of terms....I filed a dispute with visa....My girls were never in formed that the dresses ever arrived....they magically showed up on my girls doorstep a month after the wedding.....when I received the paperwork that Bridaltown was disputing my dispute it was clearly marked on the invoice that the gowns arrived at the store on December 12th! Pros: Seamstresses Cons: everything else! more

I can't believe this place is still in business. 1/29/2009

I can thank Bridaltown for causing me months of undue stress. I ordered my bridesmaids' dresses in August for my June wedding. They were guaranteed to be in by December. I called three times in December to be given different answers each time about when the dresses would be arriving. It is now the end of January, and I was recently told that they ordered the wrong size for half of my dresses and they won't be in for another 8-10 weeks. These people are out to make a sale, and once they get paid they do not care whether or not you even get your product. There is NO WAY they will ever get business from me or my bridal party ever again. At this point, I don't even know if I'll have dresses for half of my girls. more

Bridal Town is Great....don't listen to the whiners 12/17/2008

I am not sure who all the extremely high maintenance brides are that go to Bridal Town and then write these terrible reviews but I am certainly not one of them. Yes, the decor is ridiculous but it gave us something to talk about while we waited for our salesperson. The selection of dresses was great. I never felt rushed and was able to haggle on the price. I found a gorgeous dress that I absolutely love and it was cheaper than anything else I looked at. Also, the sales people have alot of knowledge and help you with undergarments so your experience is more positive. I dare anyone to go to a David's Bridal and get this kind of service. These people know what they are talking about. So, if you want the right dress for you, check your overblown ""I'm the bride"" ego at the door and go check out Bridal Town. Pros: large selection, reasonable prices Cons: wouldn't do a mother of the bride from there more

Somewhere in between previous reviews 12/8/2008

I was neither impressed or disgusted. It is in old building with dust but I found the dresses to be clean and lots of variety. I too was told by the sales woman that the dress was a Bridaltown exclusive when it was a not. They dont even put done the model number until you sign a contract. I am very against dishonesty but was naive so didnt pick up on it. I would probably be more upset it I hadnt gotten it for less than online. My particular dress was ticketed at 1000. Which they so graciously brought down to 800(which is the price online). We worked them down to 700 so it all worked out. I probably will not get my alterations done there as I am peeved about being misled. Overall I am very happy about the dress and the price and I suppose thats what matters most. I was told that Sundays are slow if you are thinking of going on a weekend. Pros: Variety, Large sizes, sample sales Cons: Ripped out tags, intentional overpricing to provide ""bargains"" more

Great Bridal Shop 9/21/2008

I recently went to Bridaltown to look for my wedding dress and my brides' maid dresses. Before going like, most people do I check out the reviews. I was amazed and intrigued by the bad reviews. It was the thing that really pulled to go check it out to see for myself if it was so bad that I would have a good laugh. I set out to maybe find a Amityville Horror Show, but instead the town it was in was so quaint and nice not at all like what the reviews said so thing were looking up I thought.. I was so right!!! The store was very pink and it is in an old hotel, but it was tastefully done. I walked in to the reception area and found the same. Tasteful wall paper that was a nice pastel floral it had a very Victorian look to it with pink mauve carpet to complement it. I found the staff very nice and helpful. My consultant was Catherine; she was so sweet and more than willing to accommodate my every whim. I had such a great experience there! So after my trip I had to write a review correcting what other people were saying. I don?t know where these other people have gone to look for their bridal wear, but in Pennsylvania this is a wonderful place. If you want to get picky you might not go to any of the bridal shop in PA because some are in old houses and others are in what use to be a funeral home like the Bridal Chateau. My advice is give it a try and don?t judge a book by its cover or by some bridezilla?s reviews. It is such a nice place, in very nice town, with extremely nice staff that I am so glad I went. If I had believed or what other people had to say about this quaint bridal shop I might have missed out on a potential place to buy my gown. Pros: everything Cons: prices are little high more

Words can't describe how horrible this place is... 9/17/2008

First of all...just looking out the outside of this run-down, outdated building should have been our clue to drive away, but we gave it a shot. I could honestly write pages upon pages of how awful everything is, but I'll just state the worst. It is the dirtiest, smelliest, dustiest bridal shop I have ever been to. I feel bad for anyone who actually has this as their memory of buying ""the dress."" The dresses ALL have the tags ripped out (which by the way is illegal). When I asked what the brand name of a particular bridesmaid dress was, they say that they will look it up (which they never do). They do this because they charge you more than what the dress actually costs. The employees (which change just about every day) are rude, lazy, unintelligent, and could care less about anything but making a buck. Just wait till you check out their ""accessories""...shrink wrapped plastic picture frames covered with dust, and just the ugliest things you've ever seen...I don't even feel like wasting my time writing anything else. This place should just close it's doors. Cons: dirty, overpriced, smelly, horrible staff more

bridaltown 7/29/2008

I am amazed at all the negative reviews of Bridaltown. I had nothing but a great experience there. My salesperson was Catherine and she could not have been more accommodating. She allowed us to try on as many dresses as we wanted and then to try them over again without a problem. Granted, the pink decor is a little cheesy and outdated and the exterior is old but well painted and taken care of. The interior of the main entrance can use a revamp too. That part of the store is old & not very welcoming. But traveling upstairs to where the dresses were was clean and the carpeting appeared to be newer. It was comfortably air conditioned. I read some comments about stained and dirty dresses. The dresses downstairs are those dresses that are samples which can't be ordered. So you have to take them as is, stained, dirty, whatever. But that is the bride's choice and if she chooses this dress, then she should not complain that the dresses are stained and dirty. The bridal rooms upstairs are for those dresses than can be ordered. If you want an elegant setting to try on your dresses, then may I suggest going to Kleinfelds in NYC. They will give you the ambience you want plus an exhorbitant price tag. Or try local bridal salons in your area. I did price comparisons too. I tried on dresses that I saw in other stores for a higher price and Bridaltown was cheaper by anywhere from 200-400 including alterations. I would suggest going on a weekday to get the attention you want. I understand weekends are crazy. I would like everyone to know that I do not know anyone at Bridaltown nor am I affiliated with Bridaltown in any way. I was just a bride taking a chance on entering a cheesy pink building but suprisingly finding 3 dresses I loved. (by the way, they were all current styles that were listed on The Knot under the wedding gown search. I took the pictures with me and searched the racks for them.) Pros: friendly salesperson, nice selections, value for the price Cons: cheesy decor, stairs with no elevator, entryway could use a revamp more

GREAT PRODUCTS AT A GREAT PRICE!!! 6/23/2008

Visited Bridaltown to select the bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. I was a bit hesitant at first, due to some of the reviews I?ve read. But decided to go because a good friend of mine assured me of the large selection, great prices, and good experience they had. When we visited I was surprised at its visibility from the road, can't miss the pink. Upon arrival we were assigned a sales consultant, Sandy. Our consultant was knowledgeable, friendly, and made me and my bridesmaids feel welcomed. After an hour or so, agreement upon a dress was made and we place our order. Since a number of my bridesmaids were not available that day, Sandy suggested having the remaining girls contact her to place their order. Even though one of my girls called in extremely late, Bridaltown was able to place our order and have all the dresses arrive in record time ? hassle free! Additionally, when one of the dresses arrived it didn?t fit, but that?s because my one bridesmaid was pregnant and did not give me a heads up until she complained about it not fitting. Even though she didn?t think ahead, Bridaltown was able to fix that issue promptly. (I?m guessing my bridesmaids are similar to a lot of the brides and BM?s who have left negative feed back ? by not taking any responsibility for their own actions which cause the problem they blame on vendors!) From my experience Bridaltown?s costumer service was fantastic and the delivered products were beautiful. I would recommend Bridaltown to anyone who wants a great product at a great price. Pros: Great Prices, Large Selection, Customer Service Who Does What It Takes to Get the Job Done! more

WORST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6/18/2008

Back in January I found a flower girl dress that was the mini version of a bridal dress I had my eye on. Since I found that dress in the size 12 months I ordered that dress and my bridal dress. I worked with one lady and one lady only (Sandy) to not have to explain myself everytime I called, and to make sure that one person was going to be accountable and take care of the order. Pros: none... How are they still in business???? Cons: EVERYTHING... THEY ARE LIARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

WASTED trip! 6/14/2008

We traveled 4 1/2 hours after seeing the ad in a bridal mag and looking it up online! Were we ever disappointed! First it was filthy and stunk like mildew. The service was nice enough but the gowns were dirty. Stained even. One we found had what looked like a grass stain on it. PRICEY was an understatement and what they tried to pull off as ""Exclusively"" for bridal town we found out was actually Allure gowns with the tags cut out! YEP found the exact gown online and it's allure not bridal town! Pros: NOTHING! Cons: DIRTY, run down, smelled, and dresses were dirty! more

Worth a shot 6/8/2008

If you live pretty close to Bridal Town, it wouldn't hurt just to stop by. Once I had finished laughing about the pink decor, I found the service pretty friendly (we worked with a lady named Diane) and the selection pretty wide. Don't expect a beautiful bridal parlor or 5 star service, but the prices were reasonable and they didn't try to con us out of money with hidden fees. I found my perfect dress there for about $500. Pros: good selection, nice people, fair prices Cons: weird decor, not too many staff members more

Worked for me 6/4/2008

I'm not sure about all the negative reviews but i went to bridaltown and my experience was just fine. Pros: helpful Cons: in the middle of nowhere more

Avoid at all costs!!!! 6/2/2008

I went to Bridaltown to find a cheap dress because their website said no dresses over $1,000.... Trust me... that is by far not true!! The lady who helped me said every dress looked good with my figure, even though she knew I was not happy.... I was not alowed to take pictures... Then I thought I had found my dress... so my mom put it on layaway.... might I add that at Bridaltown the dress cost $1,600 on sale... anyway... I went home and got on my comoputer and was extremly upset.... I called my mom right away and she canceled the layaway the next day.... I found the exact dress for $700 cheaper.. and the lady I am getting my dress from does alterations for FREE... not 100 here and 100 there... plus 100 to store and shipping even though my dress was off the floor and dirty might I add... The only things I am getting there are my viel and tiara.... after that I am done with them..... I will never ever go back to them and I really hope none of you do!!! Go somewhere else... trust me I would rather pay a little more for a dress than pay $600 in alterations at Bridaltown! more
