A Prime example of why Chrysler should declare bankruptcy 3/12/2009

Mr. John Rys Eddins: Read your reply to another disatisfied customer. I am another! My 2006 Jeep Liberty had a break issue. Car made a moan-like sould when car is first started cold during light or nor brake application. The sound is very loud. Brought car in under warrenty at 25,749 miles.. 7/14/08.Rears were 20-30% had pads replaced, machined rear rotors and serviced parking brake system: Cost $276.00 After service car made an extremely loud moaning grating sound when cold....got worse took back to your shop with complaint on 11/28/08 at 28,576 miles. They said they inspected rear brakes. 80-90% remaining. Pads and rotors now slightly glazed. They heard noise when we picked it up but said that noise was normal? and not to worry??? Noise continued to get worse...called and spoke to Rick service manager....no help. Returned car on 3/9/09, same complaint...now noise is really bad. They inspected the brakes and said that the pads and drums were completley gone. and wanted to charge for replacement of drums an additional $303.00 My argument. That the pads failed because of defect or improper installation and that caused the drums or rotors to fail. This service manager, Will, did not seem to accept the logic that the pad failure caused the drum failure. After 4 phone calls he agreed to send the pad back to the manufacturer and replace them at no charge. However, the Rotors were at our cost at $303.00 because they should have been replaced in July at first service. neglecting the fact that the rotors were ok at that time and the mechanic machined them....How can this be my fault: He said that if I didn't pay for the rotors it would come out of his pocket. HELLO! Are you people in business or not? I called a different Chrysler jeep dealer and they gave me a copy of Technical service bulletins 05-004-06 dated July, 19 2006 and Bulletin 05-004-06 Rev A dated September 8, 2006 that applied to Liberty/Cherokee 2003-2006 models for the condition of a rear brake moan like sound....my original complaint.... and attached to this a detailed instruction sheet on how to fix the problem. Both bulletins were issued BEFORE WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN. If you people were on top of things in your service dept my problem would have been taken care of in July, 2007 one year after Chrysler notified you of the problem. Do you require that the service dept reads technical bulletins or do you just fly by the seat of your pants? So explain to me how your dealership ... a family owned...business allows this behavior????? If I pay for the new rotors I will see all of you in the Van Nuys Small Claims Court unless you can defend this action by your dealership Cons: unethical do not stand behind repair work more

Bait and Switch 3/31/2008

The service department gets you in the door by offering one price, then switching to twice as much. They claimed they didn't know "who would've quoted that price because (they) don't work at that rate," but AFTERWARDS I called from my roommate's phone to ask how much the service was and they quoted the same price I was told originally, calling it a "coupon price." Obvious bait and switch, tell about the coupon price on the phone (they quoted it as the regular price initially), then claim ignorance when the customer shows up. I got out of there. This place has a "D" rating with the better bussiness bureau, mainly for contract disputes. The owner, or one of the upper managers I spoke with, and who inspired me to write this review, said, "We don't like to serve customers that will write reviews on the internet." This tells it all; They don't want word of mouth about their service. They could have made thousands off me legitimately but instead tried to nickle and dime me at the start. I would not recommend this dealership. Pros: It's in the Valley. Sounds nice on the phone. Cons: Rude Owner, came out quickly more

Rip-off Artists !! 3/17/2008

I took my car in to this dealership for it's 60,000 mile service. Not only are they rude, but they over charged me by $300 for the service. I called around to their competitors after paying them $838 for the service...... Cerritos Dodge (818) 787-0800 $595...... Reseda Dodge (818) 345-4001 $459...... Dependable Dodge (818) 883-9060 $550...... DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE THIEVES !!! I called the service manager to discuss this and he laughed at me and told me he didn't care if he lost my business. more

Mark was the best salesman ever 2/8/2008

I bought a Dodge Neon SXT from here January 2007 and Mark was my salesman, he was so helpful and even drove to my job for me to sign the paperwork to get the car. I was very pleased. Unfortunantley I dont have the car anymore but when I have the money to get one again I am deffinently going to go here and get it. Pros: Everything was excellent Cons: There are no cons more

The true car salesman 7/2/2007

I bought a new Subaru Impreza WRX Turbo at Big Valley Dodge Subaru in 2004. I love the car today just as much as I did when I drove it off their lot in 2004 !!! Sure the salesmen may have been what you call "high pressure salesmen" but their just trying to make a living and it is their job. They were doing their sales pitch on me showing me all these preowned nice cars but it just wasn't what I wanted until I saw my beautiful WRX ! It took an hour or so to do all the paper work but taht's normal; there's a lot of requirements in buying a car and they made sure that all was covered. To me the employees at Big Valley Dodge Subaru were real people , no gimikes. Thank you Big Valley Dodge Subaru for the coolist car I could have ever asked for. Pros: Great car selection Cons: Staff could use a new wardrobe......ha, just kidding. more

Big Valley tries harder to please than any other dealer with whom I have been affiliated. 12/3/2006

Good Afternoon Mr. Skakel, I would like to say that I am extremely sorry that you received such "HORRIBLE" service at Big Valley Dodge. I do wish, however, that you had the forethought to reach out to someone before you threw the entire organization under the bus. There are 165 hard-working folks here whose families' livelihood depends on Big Valley's survival. It always seems such a shame that people want "get even" when they feel they have been wronged. Wouldn't it have been much simpler to go to the General Manager and explain what happened? That certainly would have taken care of the business at hand. But I guess it was more important to put your rant on the net so that everyone considering coming to Big Valley could see how you felt. Big Valley Dodge is a family owned business which has been in operation since 1962. Obviously the store must have treated some customers well in order to stay in business that long. By the way....your letter is being investigated at the moment. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the behavior you endured at the hands of these salesmen. I shall notify you on the outcome of this situation. Have a safe and sane holiday season! John Rhys Eddins VIP Programs Dept. Worst Experiance EVER!!!!!!!!! 12/2/2006

In response to Big Valley Dodge, I don't take back one word of my original review. It is absolutely mind boggling to me that my girlfriend's original salesman or his partner hasn't called her to say anything along the lines of sorry we got caught up,sorry it was hectic or any excuse but to not even call he is inexcusable to say the least. I left out several other discouraging occurances from that night but if it's your stance that your sales staff handled themselves accordingly that night I really see no reason in delving further into a very dissapointing experiance. I have bought around 8 cars in my 38 years on earth and this by far and away was the WORST experiance I've ever had. My girlfriend had bought a Charger there about 2 months ago from Israel and said although it wasn't the greatest experiance for her that she would reccomend talking to him. We make an appointment with him, he keeps us waiting for awhile and then pawns us off to his cousin Walter who then proceeds to have us wait on a very cold night for 10-15 minutes by the Magnums which I said I'd like to look at. All of a sudden, this bafoon who is straight out of central casting for a cheap used car salesman comes out and says Walter sent me out to help you. Very frustrating as I told Walter that I wanted to look at the TOP END Magnum and we are treated like dirt. They must be making great sales this month to treat people like that at the end of the year. I would't buy a hat from them and I hope you don't either. To top off the poor service if you can even call it that, it's been 4 days and no contact to from anybody from Big Valley Dodge to say sorry we were busy or it was crazy that night, you talk about a negative experiance. I would reccomend NOBODY buy from this place, they are the perfect example of why people hate the car buying experiance. I mean I go on their lot with checkbook in hand ready to buy a $40,000 plus Magnum and was shrugged off like they could care less. Pros: None Cons: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE more

Oz has it right... 5/19/2002

Bought my Subaru here last year, and I'd have to agree. I got a good price, but I wasn't treated particularly well. Went through all the standard salesman gimmicks before finally coming to a sensible deal...tried to pull a bait and switch, tried to tell me I was misquoted on the phone, etc. Pros: good selection, good price Cons: pressure sales more

After sales service disappears 5/19/2002

This dealer gave me a good price on the car I purchased from them, to go with a lousy trade-in (which is my fault for taking $1000 less than blue book trade-in value), then I very distinctly got the feeling that I went from an opportunity to a liability as soon as I had all the paperwork signed. Going back the next day to finish up some business with my trade was a nightmare that could have been handled in minutes, but took me over two hours. I would not recommend this dealer unless price is your only goal, you aren't planning to trade anything in and you don't plan on going back. Pros: Good new car prices Cons: Uninformed salesmen, Sales managers, Poor coordination more
