I will trust my spine to only this doctor! 9/2/2010

Wow, did I ever spend too many years doubting the competency of chiropractic. It has made such a positive impact on my health! Since I have made Dr. Mindel my ?general practitioner?, I no longer waste time with so-called medical doctors who always just want to address my symptoms by writing a prescription. Dr. Mindel actually helps me heal the source of my problems by addressing my nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and especially my spine. Dr. Mindel has also seen my out-of-town sister whenever she visits me. He has alleviated her pain and surely has prevented future problems that she would have suffered....she now religiously makes appointments with him whenever she is in Seattle. Once when I was in his office I saw Roger Daltrey (lead singer of The Who)! He was in Seattle doing a concert, and it didn?t surprise me a bit to learn that of all the chiropractors he could have gone to see, he chose to be in Dr. Mindel?s care. (I later found out that Roger returned for another spinal adjustment before flying out to continue his tour!) more

Excellent Care and Service 7/27/2010

I've been a patient of Belltown Spine and Wellness since September of last year. When I first walked in I noticed it wasn't like other places that provide chiropractic services. Pros: Individualized Attention more

watch out for the billing of the service 7/12/2010

Short story. For whatever reason they did not give me a bill till my 6th visit and guess what, they are charging each visit (20-30min with many people at the same time) as 1 chiro and 1 PT in my insurance. We all know that we have limited of number of those in my quota in a year and did not expect to use so many up. So basically for 6 SHORT visits (normally 1 chiro is 20 min and 1 PT is 1 hour), I used up 6 chiro and 6 PT. That is very surprising. I did not get informed about that till my 6th visit which I did not appreciate. Long story: well, I met Dr. Scott at the green festival and he seemed to be knowing his stuff. So I checked his place online and so far only good reviews although a bit outdated. So there I went. Did not like my 1st visit since I waited 20 min while showed up on time and got 5 min of Dr. Scott's time and then waited another 15 min and got another girl doing some general measurements which did not seem that useful at all. The office has many people and Dr. Scott sees (works on multiple at all times) many patients in any short period which I feel he is not really focused and was rushing definitely many times that I was there. I did not feel the exclusive service I got from other chiropractice at all. So I had my concerns for a while. When I asked about my billing, they keep saying the person who does that just was not able to get around to get that done. I did not have any doubts since a chiro is a chiro and they seemed to be doing OK although the assistants were doing a lot of the work I felt Dr. Scott should be doing. Well, I guess it is a little different. I thought well, if I can get my neck and back better, who cares as long as I get better. THEN, I got my billing at my 6th visit and then I found out for each visit which is like 20-30 min with many clients waiting around for their turn, I am being charged for 1 PT and 1 chiro using up my quota double time faster than I thought. OK, I got premera and that is a pretty standard insurance and I have seen chiro and PT with this insurance before. It just does not make any sense. When I called, the person kept saying that is how they do the billing with whatever code. I also questioned that there is no certified Physical Therapist there though. However, she kept saying they do the billing according to what they did in the office. OK, I guess this is what they do. In summary, I am using two slots for each short visit to get 5-10 min of chiro and some not so qualified assistant charging at a PT rate for another 20 min. I am not sure if this is a good choice. Plus, it is always so busy in the office in the not so good way, all the assistants trying to help multiple patient at any given time and Dr. Scott has everyone lined up for him and sometimes he is so busy, I felt he is not even listening so much about my concerns. Which is what happens if you are too busy. So in conclusion I would not recommend this place. I am not going back there myself and I felt I would appreciate someone wrote a review for me here so that I do not have to make this mistake. So that is why I am here writing this. I usually do not write reviews. Guess I am now. Pros: Dr. Scott seemed to know what he is doing Cons: busy, each visit (20-30 min) used 1 chiro and 1 PT slots more

Thorough and thoughtful care 9/10/2008

As a 27 year old marketing professional, I never would have thought that my spine was so out of alignment. After the original exam where he went down my spine checking each vertabrate and letting me know what organs it touched, I was amazed that all of my chronic ""normal"" conditions were tied to vertabrates that were out of alignment. If you have the insurance coverage, you should at least check this out. He has a solid view of the spine's holistic value to our entire body. He infuses eastern medicinal practices into adjustments without preaching or rambling on. It's an incredibly comfortable environment. They have flexible scheduling. And you learn a lot about just how important a healthy spine is. Pros: Flexible Scheduling, Free Parking... in BELLTOWN, Quick service, usually 10-20 minutes total. more

Best all around general health care. 8/23/2008

I have known Dr. MIndel for over 14 years. He was the second chiropractor that I have seen in my life. When he first started treating me, he was still a student at Life Chiropractor school in Marietta, Gerogia. I had tremendous migrane headaches and lower back problems. In no time at all, my migranes were gone and I haven't had any to this date. Dr. MIndel decided to move to Seattle after graduating from chiropractic school and that deeply saddened me. He had made such an impact on me and my overall health, I decided to move to Seattle too with my family. I continue to see him for regular maintenance of my spine and any other problems that might occur. Dr. Scott is truly an amazing, caring doctor that actually takes the time to listen to his patients. He has such a positive attitude about his work and life in general. He keeps updated on new techniques in an ever changing world. Once you have started seeing him for your chiropractic care, you will want to keep coming back because you feel so much better and who doesn't want that, especially when you get older. Pros: Love to read what kind of positive inspirations Dr. Scott picks to put on his bulletin board for his patients. Cons: Can't get enough of a good thing. more

Credible and Talented Chiropractor 8/1/2008

I did not know Dr. Scott Mindel from Adam and had limiting negative beliefs about Chiropractors going into my first appointment. Dr. Scott did not send me away from my first appointment with prescriptions for hardcore narcotics to cover up the pain. Instead he took X-Rays and put me through a sophisticated technologically advanced analysis of my spine. He correctly diagnosed the source of my back pain and has eliminated the pain I have been struggling with for over ten years. Dr. Scott is a good communicator and will teach about not only what is causing your back pain but how you can realistically maintain a healthy back in your daily life. At no time have I had anything but complete confidence is his knowledge of his craft and I can attest first hand to Dr. Scott's abilities. I had never been seen by a chiropractor prior to my first visit and I feel fortunate to that I made an appointment at this particular office as my overall health has much improved. Pros: Free parking out back, Flexible scheduling with walk in appointments, nice facility. Cons: Realistically Zero. more

Helped me tremendously 11/14/2007

About a year ago I was in a lot of pain due to complications related to scoliosis. I found myself looking at a strong possibility of invasive surgery to fuse a bunch of my vertebrae together. So I started looking at alternatives and ended up at Belltown Spine & Wellness. The results have been phenomenal. Pros: Innovative, Friendly, Effective Cons: Dave Matthews was playing on the stereo a couple of times... more

Excellent, skilled care 7/27/2007

My husband and I have been going to Belltown Spine and Wellness for about 2 months, and we're both feeling much better. I had neck problems after a car accident and I haven't had any pain since I started seeing Dr. Mendell. He uses a variety of techniques and all his patients use weights too to strengthen the muscles supporting the spine which has also made a huge difference. Pros: Parking in Belltown, willing to work with your financial situation, skilled doctors more
