Ornamental décor 2/5/2003

Food was great, drinks were better, but the service was kind of slow. Some entrees were a little overprices, but everything was superb in taste! Don't forget to check out the butterflies on the ceiling! more

Sunday 2/5/2003

Last Sunday night I stoped in Bar Marmont at about 11 pm. I had been to two bars that night and they were both dead. To my suprize and releif Bar Marmont was great! There was a DJ and a very cool croud. Good food and drinks. I was happy to discover the kitchen is open till 2am. more

Let down 1/31/2003

Perhaps the reputation and polularity of Bar Marmont has caused them to loose sight of the fact that serice does matter. From the obnoxious host to absolutely NO service in the bar. With a reservation we were still asked to sit in the bar for our dinner. The host failed to inform us that we were on our own in terms of ordering food and juggling drinks from the bar to our table. A common theme throughout the place. Once one of our favorites but I would be reluctant to return. more

I frequent the Marmont, and have only seen a couple of people...Sarah Gilbert and Laura Prepon...not the Leo and Johnny sightings I'm always hoping for. But, the atmophere is wonderful and the people are to die for... Pros: Mood Lighting, Great food, Hip and trendy more

Worth a Visit... 11/23/2002

Attended on a Wednesday evening. Parked right in front of the place. Walked right in past the bouncer (I'm 20 too). Nice atmosphere. Dark and private. The food was really good. I was impressed. I was playful on the couches with my date and no one paid any attention. I recommend visiting. Pros: Good Parking, Nice atmosphere Cons: Crowded, Expensive more

Good times 9/9/2002

I cruised up to this place on a sunday night because I wanted to check this place out on an off night. To my surprise the place was packed hipsters and sexy ladies. The people weren't fake, actually they were pretty friendly, not the Hollywood type personalities I would expect from a place on the Sunset Strip. I was surprised to see they had a DJ too. But apparantly its only a sunday night thing. The DJ was spinning a nice mix of funk, soul, and downtempo that kept the vibe just right. If you like good drinks and good times, a place to sit and enjoy the company of your friends, this is it. I had a nice time here. I brought some friends from London here recently, they loved the laid back atmosphere. Just the type of place you want to get some drinks before going out. Pros: nice atmoshpere, good drinks, good food more

The Best Apple Martini's 8/19/2002

The food at this place is awesome. The Salmon Rolls and the Banana Wontons are to die for. The Bar itself is a tad bit on the trendy side, but the staff is wonderful. I recommend trying this place if you never have. The outside can be a bit deceiving, but once you get inside you won't believe your eyes. It's NOT a dive! Yippy. You've probably driven by and never realized that this place actually exist. more

I just have one short recommendation for people stopping in at this bar. Order the number nine. This drink, along with the fabulous decor, is one of the reasons i come to this bar. If you get there early enough (before 11, when the crowds start coming in) you can even get a table. more

Overpriced, but interesting 5/19/2002

The atmosphere of Bar Marmont is interesting, to say the least. From the oh-so-jaded hollywood crowd, to the more-than occasional celeb or personality, this is definitely the most accessible of the "scene" bars I've been to. Even if you don't buy into the whole Hollywood act, the atmosphere and the bar itself are worth the trip. They're very proud of their alcohol and have to be convinced to part with it, but you get a large martini glass and enough in the mixer cup for a refill, so it evens out. Pros: atmosphere, celebs, decent portions Cons: attitude bar more
