The owner (of the Puyallup store, not sure if he owns them all) is dishonest and doesn't stand by their products. They sold us a stove that was missing a part. We had a repairman from their store come out to look at the stove and he was shocked that a major component was missing from the stove. \r \r We called and told the owner what happened, and that he sold us a stove that was missing a critical part. Shockingly, he said it was our problem because *we* should have disassembled and inspected the stove when he sold it to us to determine whether or not all of the parts were included!!! I've never heard of anything more ridiculous. \r \r I would never recommend anyone buy anything from this store. If you do, you'll be expected to become an expert on the pool or stove, and you'll be expected to disassemble it to check whether or not they are trying to defraud you.\r \r Now they will only add the part if we pay for it and for two visits to our house to install it. \r \r Basically, the message we got from the owner was, ""sorry Suckers."" (He didn't say those words, but that's about what the situation amounted to.)\r \r I don't know whether or not these people care at all about their reputation, but I'll be happy to update this review if they change their minds and fix their own mistake (or fraud?) and put the part in our stove. If I don't update this review, you'll know that even when their abuses are made public this company couldn't care less. more

Bought a fireplace insert three years ago. It had issues, but Rick and John G. were great about getting it right. Barb and I decided to purchase a hot tub this year from them after shopping around. We made the right choice - we LOVE it! Thanks again John & David at the Fircrest store. more

Should have read the reviews before going to these people there still as dishonest as ever. I have been trying to get me deposit for over 6 months, Guess a trip to small claims court is in my futrue. Do not deal with these people or you will get burnt. It is to easy for the to pad the reviews in there favor. Stay away and save your money... more

Aqua Rec Pools and Hot Tubs deliver the full pool experience. We had been deciding between two other companies. Our pool was finished last week and we are still on cloud nine. Everything from the initial introduction, to the consultation, design, and best of all, installation of the pool has been nothing but smooth sailing and we love every minute of our new backyard! They are as creative as they are competent, and it's no surprise they've remained successful in the pool business for as long as they have. Had my spa fixed by Byron at Aqua Rec's that I bought from a ""spa manufacturer"" in the Des Moines area. The thing was always leaking and used incredibly cheap equipment. I thought I was smart and getting a lot of jets for my money. Like a knothead, I realized later that all equipment and parts are not the same - Byron used Mercedes vs. Kia comparison. No kidding, I felt really dumb not doing my homework. The sales guy at Puyallup store (David) was great and knowledgeable. They gave me a trade in and I got a new Marquis hot tub. It's awesome, and three times more powerful than the old one. Lesson learned - quality matters. more

We ordered a free standing gas fireplace the week prior to New Years. The salesman told us we could have the stove installed within 2 -3 weeks. we are now at mid march and our stove is just now being installed. more

Avoid them at all costs. I am spreading word to all businesses and throughout the local community their complete lack of integrity. more

We used AquaWreck at our complex for pool maintenance. Big mistake. They are dishonest. Their people would not keep the required log for pool chemicals, then come back and fill it in months later, charging us for chemicals they never put in the pool. They installed a double drain improperly and it did not work. They installed a panic alarm that didin't work. They resurfaced the pool and it is horribly stained. They refuse to stand by their work. They are COMPLETELY dishonest and unreliable. Do not use these people if you value your money and your pool. They suck. more

I want to thank Bruce and the Aqua Rec team for building our gorgeous swimming pool. Not only did the finish product exceed our expectations; the team at Aqua Rec made the experience enjoyable. It is rare to experience a large scale construction project that goes off without a hitch - THIS WAS IT, schedule, quality and budget all on the mark.! And the credit definetly goes to Aqua Rec. We bid all the big pool companies for our large pool project and we chose Aqua Rec based on the secure feeling we got during the bid process that they would do right by us. They delivered on all levels We would highly recommend them to anyone for any scale pool project. more

There was a bad review written under my name that was not submitted by me, and I am retracting it. I bought a hot tub from the Tacoma store and I had some problems with it. The owner of the company met with me personally and has bent over backward to help me resolve the issues. I know that he has a lot on his plate and I appreciated his personal help so much. It has been almost a year since I bought it and he is still available for me if I need it. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a hot tub. We've had a nearly 4 month ordeal with this company. They have terrible service, they don't return phone calls, their installers don't show up and don't call to tell you. When they finally did show up they installed our gas piping incorrectly. We had to call another plumbing company to come out and re-do the shoddy work. And when I approached Aqua Recs about paying for the re-work they said they would, but we haven't heard from them since. I have contacted lawyers, so we will get it straightened out, but i want to let everyone know do not use this company!!! more

We hoped to get it before Christmas but the manufacturer delayed delivery due to the holiday. Luckily we got it for our anneversary and it was installed. Our pool went from bad to worse under their care. Their monthly contract includes pool cleaning and PH maintenance, among other things. Our plaster is permanently stained, our heat exchanger cost $400.00 to repair due to PH imbalance, all of the tile had to be scrubbed clean, our deck is permanently marred from an embedded rubber mark almost 40 ft long caused by a dragged tire. Our attempt to discuss the contract violations were met with contempt by their cocky know-it-all delusional service manager who defended his employee even though he never once came and verified his service. I am SO not impressed with Aqua Rec on Puyallup ave in Tacoma. We bought our first tub at the fair, and the Tacoma Office was our main contact for our order. We waited patiently for several weeks for our order to be shipped to our house. The delivery men were nice, but they were not going to give us our step that we paid for, and I had to remind them that it came with a complimentary chemical testing pack... Which I got 2 bottles, and thats it. We had it less then 2 days and the tub started leaking. Ok so this is a manufactuing issue, but it took them 2 weeks to get it resolved... Which during the repair process they took out a good portion of the insulation. I was concerned about this and when I voiced that concern, I was told then it would not be an issue... ya... it later became an issue, when we found out in mid winter that they broke a nut and sealed it instead of replacing it, and it froze... The office is RUDE, and NON HELPFUL! I liked the Federal Way Location, but they have gone out of business... I will drive the 45 minutes to the Puyallup location from here on out. I would not even refer my worst enemy to the Tacoma store.... and when it becomes the time to replace our tub, IT WILL NOT BE BOUGHT FROM AQUA REC... We would not recommend this business to any friends. We put a deposit on a $5100.00 repossessed 34 jet hot tub July 6, 2008. The sales guy (General Manager) told us we would have our tub within a week, it actually took over three weeks for them to install a pump and get it delivered. When it was delivered it was obvious the cover was too small (which the delivery guy pointed out and said to call his boss if we wanted a new one) and the circuit board (heating) failed the first night while waiting for it to heat. It's taken over a week to get a new board (we were told it would be 2 days) and we haven't heard anything from them. Their customer service is very poor and they will tell you anything you want to hear just to take your money. Any service they do provide is at their convenience. We have yet to see a warranty although we were told it had one. It has taken a month for them to address any issues that are wrong w/this tub and have resolved nothing. In the meantime we are stuck with an expensive birdbath on our patio. We would recommend going to the Spa Warehouse in Des Moines, WA. We are having a new one built in less than 2 weeks( 40 jet at $5500.00). They will build one to any specifications you want for less money . A friend of ours also went there and had a very good customer service/spa experience. Or another option is the Spa Depot in Olympia. Aqua Rec has been the worst customer service experience that we have ever had and would not recommend them to anyone! Thanks for your time.
