Almost two hours since I ordered and the food still hasn't arrived -- with an estimated delivery time of an hour ago. I wish I could could bookmark this restaurant as "least favorite" to avoid ordering here again. See, once you order food, you can't order from another place because you don't know if your first order is going to come. Effectively, this has ruined my night. And the restaurant never called to give me an update, either. Just charged me for food and never showed up. When I got a revised delivery time from Grubhub after calling for customer service, that time passed by as well without any delivery. Grubhub was kind enough to give me a coupon toward my next meal. Thanks Grubhub; Anarkali, you're the worst. more

I've ordered from Anarkali quite a few times, simply because the food is so good. Sadly, however, I cannot continue to do so; it's just too frustrating. Many times (5 to be exact) the orders have been delayed by 30-45 minutes and 4 times the order have been incomplete (main course or bread not in the order) or missing key condiments (e.g. the sauces for the various dishes) - they don't come back to fix the order, they offer (when you can get a manager on the phone, twice none was there and the people on the phone were unhelpful and rude) a "Free Samosa the next time you order" - which isn't helpful because I'd rather have the food I ordered. I just don't trust that when I order from them they will deliver on time or that anything I ordered will actually show up and I'm tired of the "free samosas" as a solution. more

Great Food & Service 6/21/2010

My friends and I love going to Anarkali, they have the best Chicken Tikka Masala in town. I also love their Shrimp Vindaloo, it is balanced perfectly. We love Anarkali, because they know how to take care of their customers. They are very accomodating to everyone's needs. The service is very friendly. I love the ambience of the restaurant. Anarkali also does delivery service, which is perfect for me when I want to stay home with my lady. \r MY FAVORITE INDIAN RESTAURANT IN LOS ANGELES!!!!!!! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Best Indian Restaurant in LA 6/13/2010

I love Anarkali. The food and service both are amazing. The food is fresh, everything from the snacks to the main courses to the desserts. This is one of my favorite places to go to, and I would pick it over the other restaurants in the area. Also, the decor is very pretty and provides a natural and comfortable feel. People have lost touch with what good Indian food tastes lik 12/15/2009

We were visiting from the Bay Area which by no means is the mecca of Indian food. However the service and food at Anarkali in Los Angeles were absolutely terrible. Being from India my family has plenty of experience in Indian food \r \r First of all we had a 50 off 100 coupon which the restaurant itself offered on a website. Not only did the waiter make it a point to remind us that certain things didn't qualify EVERY TIME he came to our table(we know how to read thanks), he was loud enough to make others know we were using such a coupon and in a way were inferior to others. I am sorry for being diligent enough to find a deal you were stupid enough to offer. \r \r The food was terrible( i think the fact we had a coupon played a role ) . Everything was ordered very spicy. In return we got oily ( we could see the oil floating on top of every dish) , bland and an excuse for food. In fact the service was so poor that they forgot to bring the sweet dish for the already expensive thali. Pros: the waiter was very eager to pick up the credit card Cons: terrible terrible non-spicy, oily food. Never again more

Simply Delicious 9/24/2009

I have to say that two of my favorite dishes, Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimp Vindaloo were exceptionally great. Vindaloo was nice and spicy and you can taste the flavor of the dish. What can I say about the masala? It was perfect. The service was great, which sometimes can lack at some Indian restaurants. Thank You Anarkali!!! I am a regular customer of Anarkali and I have to say that their food is absolutely delicious. They are very friendly and accommodating to the needs of their customers. Sometimes you have to wait for a table because they are very busy, but the wait is worth it. I highly recommend Anarkali to anyone looking for a good Indian restaurant that does not disappoint. Great Food, Just like England 4/21/2009

I had to try Anarkali, because everytime I am here for business, my colleagues would tell me how great the food was at Anarkali. Finally, this past weekend I went there with a friend and I was amazed at how good this restaurant was. The food reminded me of my favorite restaurant in London. The Chicken Tikka Masala was excellent and Shrimp Vindaloo was simply superb. The restaurant is very beautiful and for a very busy place the service was great. Stays True to Indian Cuisine 4/19/2009

I am of South Asian descent and would consider myself a connoisseur on Indian food. With that being said, the food at Anarkali is an excellent blend of herbs, spices, meats, and vegetables. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, the staff was very attentive to our dining needs in spite of the fact that it was busy. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The price isn't bad either.
