My favorite restaurant in San Francisco 8/20/2010

Whenever I'm in San Francisco I go there at least once. I went there for the first time 5 years ago and I keep coming back. It's always just fantastic. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything. I've always had a wonderful experience each time I went. The food is always amazing, they have some pretty cool cocktails and one of the best wine lists I've seen around. They always have a tasting menu of some kind and they're always the best deal, but everything on the menu is just fantastic. It's heavy on seafood, but non-seafood eaters can also find wonderful items on the menu. They can't do anything wrong for me. I'm in love with this place. Ask for Hoang as your waiter and you'll be in good hands! more

Whenever I'm in San Francisco I go there at least once. I went there for the first time 5 years ago and I keep coming back. It's always just fantastic. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything. I've always had a wonderful experience each time I went. The food is always amazing, they have some pretty cool cocktails and one of the best wine lists I've seen around. They always have a tasting menu of some kind and they're always the best deal, but everything on the menu is just fantastic. It's heavy on seafood, but non-seafood eaters can also find wonderful items on the menu. They can't do anything wrong for me. I'm in love with this place. Ask for Hoang as your waiter and you'll be in good hands! more

This is a great restaurant to experience a night in a far away land. The food is over the top tasty. The drinks are superb. Attentive wait staff. Large tables, little away spots for groups and large places for events. Pros: Atmosphere-drinks Cons: cost-parking more

Horrible service! 9/2/2008

Watch out diners! The waiter added on extra portions of appitizers, (not informing us of course.) And when we questioned the check, he said ""well you ate it!"" then stormed off and slammed the check book on my chair. The manager was worse. We let him know that the waiter insisted we try the appitizers, although some of our group are vegetarians. In this place patrons are NOT first. The food was not even close to good. The banana boat desert was bitter, pork chop was dry, lobster was dry. At the end our 40.00 appitizers turned out to be 200.00, and the manager only took off 50.00. If you insist on going here, please watch your check! Pros: many available tables Cons: lousy service, dishonest with check amount. more

I?ve been here before and each time, I have had a very pleasant dining experience. On top of that, did you know this restaurant is teaming up with StreetSmart4kids? It?s actually really cool what they?re doing. I just heard about how SS4K is a nonprofit organization that helps underprivileged teens stay healthy. They are running their ?Dine Out and Donate? campaign here (as well as approx. 70 other restaurants in SF) during October and early November. After having a fabulous dining experience, just fill out the donation form when paying the check (minimum donation $3). This is perfect for people like me, who love to eat out all the time and also like to give back to the community. Check it out for yourself on the StreetSmart4Kids website!\r \r more

Fabulous Wedding Venue 1/23/2008

I got married and had my reception here a couple of years ago and the service and food were fabulous. The ambience is spectacular and the food is mouth watering especially the appetizers. I will be forever grateful to the management and staff for creating such a beautiful memory. more

tasty food, great price 1/20/2008

very nice place, and the food was tasty and unique. wasn't as upscale as people are making it out to be, i felt it was a nice date place, or a nice evening out. upscale but not upscale enough where you warrant stuffiness. i think between me and my girl the bill was like $150 (drinks, appetizers, main and deserts) so very reasonably priced...lots of people claim it's overpriced/expensive, but it's what' i'd expect for a 5-star type of place. i'd definitely go back for special dinners or if i'm just in the mood for a nice meal. they had a jazz band playing too, which was a classy added touch. nice bar upstairs, separated from the main dining room visually.\r \r whine whine whine. the service was fine...in fact any place of this type of caliber is going to have good service. that's the standard at restaurants like this. i find that when people go a nice place, they expect servers to jump around and dance for them or something. no the service wasn't like a ciprianni or gordon ramsey restaurant, but it wasn't a TGIF. Pros: great food, good prices, classy atmosphere...nice but not so nice you feel awkward Cons: none really more

Kind of dressy place but the ambience is super romantic that worths dressing up for. Food is great too. The combination of Vietnamese and French are blended very well. Wine selections is good too. more

The restaurant itself is stunning. The decor is very elegant, as is the food (vietnamese fusion). But, it's a bit overpriced. And I had a shrimp dish that was really lovely, but really underdone. There's a certain attitude that comes with poshness, which I don't find very welcoming. I would recommend this place for a special occasion. more
