Amaci Salon

I went to Amaci to get Brazillian wax for the first time ever. I was, of course very nervous, but Anna made the experience comfortable (as much as possible) and not awkward at all! As a college student, I was not in Boston over spring break and therefore had to go to a local salon in my hometown. I was very upset with my experience there and it made me realize how great Anna really was! I will definetley make the trip up to boston to go to Amaci when I go home for the summer because it is that much better. more

Oh I know other reviewers have said how wonderful Anna is, I just want to have my chance to reiterate it. Anna is absolutely wonderful! I moved to MA this year and have been looking for a place to get my eyebrows threaded for quite a while. I read about Anna on citysearch and seeing the rave reviews, decided to give her a try. more

Anna is exactly what they say and much more! She is so warm and engaging! And knows exactly what to do when it comes to threading! I am very picky when it comes to my brows so I was thoroughly impressed when I saw how they turned out! She is now my eyebrow threader for life! lol ( or as long as I remain in the Boston area :-) Thumbs up for Anna! more

My experience at Amaci is the WORST i ever had the people who work there act as if they never seen an AFRICAN AMERICAN person before having me feel really uncomfortable when I enter the salon. They do not have the slightest clue on how to do my type of hair. I felt like i was being coerced into getting a boatload of other services and recieved an attitude when i declined. I will say the receptioist was friendly however the staff made me extremely uncomfortable. If i were you I would look for another salon. more

I need a quick hair cut and Amacis was around the corner from the Hotel (Copley). I was obviously a walk in customer, and I was directed toward Michelle, who is a beautiful asian lady who looks like she is 30, but confessed to me that she was over 40. She is stunning looking, yet is very warm and genuine. I recieved a trim, but I could have sat there for over an hour. The hair was great, but her professional conduct and pride in her work were very evident. I travel around the world, and I have my hair, nails, face etc done in many places. The salon is narrow and not that spacious, so the people who work there need to have personalities to brighten and broaden the space. Michelle was terrific in making me feel comfortable and important. I was going thru my emails and saw a link to Amaci's, and it reminded me to send in a note to the salon and Michelle. She is great, and the salon is lucky to have her. Her manner and style match her skill very well. more

As good as it gets is SO right and if I could give Anna more than 5 stars I would. I've been getting waxed for years and I have finally found someone who can efficiently, professionally, quickly, entertainingly and awesomely give me a Brazilian wax without taking hours!! Anna is the best at what she does and I would recommend her to absolutely everyone! more

Overall really great experience! I was taken right on time... even offered coffee and water. The place has a really good atmosphere and friendly staff.Amad was my stylist and he knows exactly what he is doing.I really am happy with everything. Colors great, cut is perfect and i even got my eyebrows threaded for the first time with Anna, who is such a sweetheart! I would definitely recommend trying out Amaci Salon! more

I've been seeing the same hairstylist on newbury street for years now, but honestly money has been tight and i just couldn't afford to pay what i had been paying for my hair. I searched Google for a more reasonable priced salon with good quality work and Amaci Salon kept coming up. I booked kind of last minute but i still got an appointment for the very next day. The color came out just as good as my previous stylist had done but at a much more reasonable price :) ! The reason i gave it 4 stars rather than 5 would be because the salon was so crowded i had to wait 15 minutes after my original appointment time to be seen.overall im really happy with my hair and experience at Amaci! more

I feel as though all these reviews that keep saying ""number 1 priority"" and how wonderful the salon is must be made up because like the privious review I had one of the worst experiences of my life there. I went in over the weekend to have a trim and my stylist Adam suggested I try a body wave. My hair was a little past my shoulders and bone straight so I thought it would be nice to give it a little body. I am beside myself with what happened next. He used small rollers that made my hair extremly curly and frizzy (a body wave isnt suppose to leave your hair curly!)! Once the solution was on it was only suppose to stay for 25minutes but when he decided to take a client while I was processing he left it on much longer. I think thats what had made it the straw-like texture it is now. I cant begin to explain how awful it looks. I paid full price for a haircut when I left there with soaking wet hair and barely a 1/4 of an inch taken off. Pure laziness. Adam told me I wouldnt have to do a thing to my hair, no product or anything. Thats a lie, without product it has no control and becomes huge! I went to a salon today for a consultation to fix this horror of a hairdo, they said my hair was over-processed and the cut was uneven too! they also said that most salons would never take a client inbetween a chemical service like I had done. If he didnt have time to do my hair correctly he should have never suggested to do it in the first place! He ruined my silky soft hair and now I have to pay $400 to have a keratin treatment done to fix it at another salon of course! I'm just really upset. They knew I was upset too just by the look on my face because everyone that worked there kept saying how great it looked, when it clearly does not! It doesnt even suit my face-shape, when its dry it gets big on the sides making my face look extremly wide. I never had curly, frizzy hair in my life and dont know what to do, I wish I never went there and wish I would wake-up from this nightmare. more

I would have given this salon a negative star if i could. How horrible is this place everytime I go in there are new people. The owner finally decided to do my hair, and the price was dramatically different than what i was quoted, he asked me very casual if I wanted him to do additional services and forgot to mention that he was charging me for the services. I ended up paying over 200 dollars when i just wanted a haircut. the coupon i used he said wasnt valid for what i got and i went home and cried. He was in a huge rush the whole time and i didnt even know what happened until it was over and he was working on more than just my hair and bounced me around the whole salon to have other people wash and dry my hair. I thought he was gonna do MY HAIR instead i had the ""help"" who is probably still a student finish my hair. What a joke. When i got to the desk i asked for a price breakdown and he had a breakdown yelling and being rude and told me i can come back instead of adjusting the price. Ill never be back and warn you not to go there. For GOD sake stay away. more

I found a picture of the EXACT hairstyle i was ready to try out, i brought it with me and showed my stylist, Adam. i cant even explain to you how happy i am with my hair!! Not only did i get what i wanted but honestly it looked even better than the picture! While i was at the salon i got my eyebrows threaded as well, i will never go back to waxing! Anna is great and really knows what she is doing! she gave my eyebrows a great shape and an arch i never knew they were capable of! more

Ahmad was my stylist, he took me right on time and treated me as if i was his # one priority! I didnt feel rushed or anything. I was absolutly impressed with the end result!! more
