Hey ACS, quit calling companies that don't want your business 5/7/2015

This company has been calling and harassing my employer and its employees for months on end. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor today and the woman I was connected to was outstandingly defunct of any common decency. They are telemarketers who don't care that you don't want their business. We don't even have a Point of Sale for which they are peddling a new card reader. We have told them this for months and to stop calling us for months to no avail. Reputable companies do not peddle their wares to people who tell them no. They just don't. The individual that I had the displeasure of talking to today basically said she was going to keep on calling our company because the law said she could. There is zero chance we will do business with her shady company and her rude employees. This is harassment. Only voting in legislation with expensive penalties will get entities like this to stop. The dismal truth is because companies like this exist, call blocking exists as well. We are at our end. We have blocked your number ACS. And, it was a pleasure. See, I "had a nice day" after all. more

my acs experience 3/22/2012

I used to tell people who want to work at ACS not to work there, as I would not recommend it. Now I advise them to try it out, go to the orientation, do the training, and if you are still interested, by all means, go for it. However, I would strongly suggest that even if you make it to the floor, please keep looking for a job. Just because you make it to the floor doesn't mean you will survive and be there forever. You have to be on your toes all the time, because as some of my previous posters commented, you could, can, and will be fired at any time for any reason. In fact when I was there, we had a couple of people that were fired in Training Bay, in my training class, there was a guy who was rehired (what? huh?) at ACS, and of course there were the people who either quit or were fired right after making it to the floor. I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did. As far as salary goes, when I was there, I started out at $8.50 an hour and after three months, I got a whopping 25 cents raise, and it went up 25 cents every three months after that. The last I heard, the starting salary was about $11.00 an hour. You can make extra money for selling phone plans, mobile to mobile, etc., however, when you got your paycheck, the money was not there. You know why? Because the sups had it in their paychecks. You made the money and they take it away from you. It's like they took the call and resolved the customer's issue. If you have a customer with a complex problem that you have to research, do it as fast as you can, as the sups are listening to your phone conversations and if it takes you a long time to get your answer and get back to the caller, after your call is over, the sup pulls you over to discuss the call and they will ask you why it took you so long to resolve the issue. When you set your schedule, please be sure to keep it, as you are pointed for every minute you arrive late or leave early for any reason. This is just my brief summary of my ACS experience, I could go on and on, but I think you get my drift. more

Waste of time, but paid training is nice 6/19/2011

The employment with ACS was a complete waste of time. The four or so weeks of paid training was nice, but as far as the job was concerned, I could've learned more in a week with proper coaching techniques. The environment is horrible-tiny desks really close together...there were times I couldn't hear the people I was talking with because the other people around me were so loud. The training, once you're on the floor, is horrible as well. You're expected to get on the phones, do it, and keep your average talk time below nine minutes. For one, learning can take some people more time. For two, you can have people like me who refuse to transfer calls all over the place if i can take care of it, even if it takes me a few more minutes. The other problem with training is if you ask a question of five different people, you'll get five different answers. Those answers also sometimes contradict the tools and resources. VERY unhelpful when you're trying to do a job, especially when you have a customer on the line waiting for you to get help. That would be the other time with the nine minute handle time...how do you achieve that when at any given time a question can take up to five minutes alone to get answered-all the while with the customer on hold waiting for you to give them a reply. All in all, I would not reccomend this job to anyone, unless you're looking for easy money for four weeks, or you can put up with the chaos they call a work environment. more

Not a good company 1/23/2011

I was fired after having a wisdom tooth taken out and not being able to talk. I told them i would be willing to do anything else but just couldn't talk for a few days. I had been there for more than 6 months and the fired me because i couldn't do my job any more. And they lie a lot, you never know if you are getting the truth. more

Its not as extreme as all that 12/4/2010

The place works for a client, Sprint/Nextel, and you do customer service for them. The only people who've been there a long time are the ones who are making minimum wage. The way that that works is simple. If you reach certain performance metrics (nearly impossible, but i did it), you can earn up to fifteen dollars an hour. That actually makes sense from a business standpoint, the more you produce, the more that you make. But if you're a less-then-talented rep, they actually make MORE off of you. The worse your surveys are the less they have to pay you, but they don't want you to be exceptionally terrible, they'll fire you for that, just mediocre, so that you're not making more than nine dollars an hour or so. The reason for this is simple. They are paid by the client (Sprint/Nextel), for every call that they take. But they're also paid for every rep on the floor (whether or not they're taking calls) AND every rep that they train. Its actually more profitable for them to hire and fire you, OR keep a terrible rep on the floor for years, then it is for them to have a center full of exceptional reps, just based on the way their contract with Sprint/Nextel works. So, if you're a talented rep, and you're not interested in promotion (the floor supervisors make less then the top reps), they find any and all reason to fire you. Since oregon is an at-will state (no workers rights, you can be fire for any reason at any time). They just fire you the second you've been consistently doing well. Just make up a reason. If you get fired or even quit from this place, because of its business practices, they have to give you unemployment, legally a hostile work environment, because of the way it operates so don't count on a future with the company. However, if you need a quick buck, they'll hire anyone and training lasts five weeks. Just need 2 years of customer service experience (which you can lie about, they hire too many people to check) good luck. more

ACS 10/10/2010

Bullet Points *They lie in big time before they start any thing saying lot but nothing in real. *In this company they have lot of hitches getting the work as people don’t share just to save their job. * This company follows Hire / Fire policy not officially but they project in a different way * This company managers are the least unethical people you or me have seen (They do this in a very contradictory diplomatic Statements all the times) it’s some thing like its not good or bad but not at all good. Its like saying a simple sentence in 10 different ways so that you don’t either understand or they will confuse for ever so that you don’t poke them. * They don’t know what is happening about the business as there is no clarity to any one. But they talk just to show that they are doing some thing * HR is one key joker who don’t or can’t implement any thing for taking care of employees * They say openly that if you work for 2 years that is more than enough .we have never seen any Hr saying like this…. * They make sure you leave the company before 5 years except few and they see to that you don’t be in the company for longer tenure as they can do some cost cutting on your gratuity as they don’t have to pay you. * They have a prism policy in general. that means when they need they pay you 10 to 15 lakhs just like that but you are trapped . They fire after the transition is completed saying your expertise are not up to the expected and you are not taking initiatives and boss get the order to some how kick off the resource so that they save money. *They hire some flocks just for showing to client that we have some dedicated resources just for only for billing. * Some people who know in and out of this company don’t leave and this company can’t run with out them as this is a fact. They have made it like that so that only few guys stay enjoying very high salary and rest flocks join they have to make their way out. *Good thing about this company is if you don’t any great life and no challenges to take and wor more

ACS Inc Scam 4/17/2010

Does this company receive federal funding, or does any of their associated companies: LiveBridge, CyberRep, Telemark? The job posting is really a method to collect information about your previous employers for telemarketing purposes. That is why applicants are turned away that are not presently employed or don't list good marketing references as previous employers. It didn't make sense that they wanted to keep my "pre-screen questionnaire" when they didn't hire people with a criminal charges. And why they demand that you be available at anytime, for any schedule, at any location so they have a reason to not hire you when you can't, but only after you have provided them valuable marketing informaiton. Upon further investigation and sorting through the lies about them reporting my information to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision, I learned that they report the questionnaire to Recruiting Metrics. They essentially are using unemployed people (who can't afford to waste time on decietful job fairs, applicaitons, and interviews) to provide them with names, numbers, and more information about previous employers to be to be used for telemarketing. The quiestionnaire does not ask about race, color, creed, sex, etc. It is a scam, and I will be following up via the proper legal channels, and hopefully help other people from wasting their time and being decieved into giving ACS marketing leads. I feel sorry for the few people that do get employed with them, who then have to conduct such immoral practices to get a paycheck. more

Challenging work but a good company 6/26/2009

I've worked at ACS for over a year. It is call center work with typical customer service calls. What sets this place apart is that the goals are tough and pay - both base and bonus - it extreemly merit based. If you are talented and dedicated to doing good work you will make very good money on a regular basis. But not everyone is a good fit here - even if you have done well in other call centers you will need to be pretty talented to do well here. Also, you will need to have a strong work ethic. People without the ability and/or work ethic will make very little money here. All pay is merit based - there are people taking calls making minimum wage and there are people taking calls making $15-$20+ an hour (with bonus). It all depends on your ability, and work ethic - tenure is not a factor -you can be here 3 weeks and make $20 an hour or you can be here for 5 years and make minimum wage, it all depends on performance. more

Lies Lies Lies 2/27/2009

I would not recommend this job to anyone. They lie about everything and every person you ask a question to will give you a different answer. I only worked for this company for a month and a half and it was a nightmare. They have you take three weeks in a training class that teaches you absolutely nothing about what you'll really be doing and nothing about the products they want you to sell. I have to agree with all the other bad reviews left, I came across the same exact scenarios with this place. Do Not Work Here If You Want To Keep Your Sanity!!!! more

Never work here 10/6/2008

Lies and misinformation are the creed of this business. On top of being lied to about how easy the job is supposed to be and how much money was to be made, I was lied to about my work schedule and supposedly not called in sick when I did. If you care about anyone and know they are applying for a job at ACS stop them. more

DEFINATELY DON'T APPLY FOR THIS JOB 12/21/2006

I have to agree with the previous review. This business IS A JOKE! They expect you to work for dirt cheap, and promise raises but never come through with them. They tell you about ALL THIS MONEY you can make, but I was making 400 dollars a paycheck for a full 80 hour paycheck. (How is someone supposed to survive on that!?!?) Their payroll they can't ever keep straight, I was supposed to get some "bonuses" for selling extra stuff to customers, and my "bonus" was a whopping 19 bucks given to me AFTER I QUIT on a paycard (which didn't work so I never actually got my 19 bucks). They truly do treat you like crap, expect you to work overtime constantly, and when you call in sick, they act like the world came to an end. They are completely unwilling to work with you on schedules. Needless to say I had to drop out of college because I couldn't work around their schedule for school, and I had to have a job, and couldn't find anything better. When I quit to move to Alaska on minimalistic notice for myself, I had 3 weeks to pack up my entire house and make it up to Bellingham and on the ferry. (I made sure they got their two week notice), but they still considered me NOT rehirable (which my stats were fantastic, so why I was considered not rehirable??) I will NEVER work for this business EVER AGAIN. I don't care if it's the last job on earth... more

Do Not Work Here 10/9/2006

ACS inc is not a place I would ever recommend working. I got a job here a while ago and was totally lied to. During the interview, they tell you about all this money you can make and how easy it is ect. They will even tell you about their employee who made $25,000 dollars just by up selling, and thats not including their other bonus and pay. The training is a big joke. You spend all this time on these computers answering these questions that don't help you one bit when your on the floor. You'll hear people say that what you learn in the class means nothing when on the floor. I thought they were kidding, but they were not. The "BIG BONUSES" that they tell you about are incredibly hard to get and are not even available till after 90 days. You will also be told different things by different people. One person will say you need to transfer a certain situation to one department and then when you do, those people say its someone else department. Their insurance is a joke. What they don't tell you during the interview is that you have to use this one insurance that is crappy until the beginning of the next open enrollment. They act like its because your salary for the year will be low and they are doing you a favor. They are doing you no favors. The insurance is really crap. This company has a really really high turnover and now I understand why. They really do treat their employees like crap and they make it hard for you to earn any kind of bonuses. If you don't mind working for min wage while being treated like crap then working here is fine. If you want a job that wont make you want to go home and drink, then don't work here. Needless to say I quit that job really quick. more
