The place works for a client, Sprint/Nextel, and you do customer service for them. The only people who've been there a long time are the ones who are making minimum wage. The way that that works is simple. If you reach certain performance metrics (nearly impossible, but i did it), you can earn up to fifteen dollars an hour. That actually makes sense from a business standpoint, the more you produce, the more that you make. But if you're a less-then-talented rep, they actually make MORE off of you. The worse your surveys are the less they have to pay you, but they don't want you to be exceptionally terrible, they'll fire you for that, just mediocre, so that you're not making more than nine dollars an hour or so. The reason for this is simple. They are paid by the client (Sprint/Nextel), for every call that they take. But they're also paid for every rep on the floor (whether or not they're taking calls) AND every rep that they train. Its actually more profitable for them to hire and fire you, OR keep a terrible rep on the floor for years, then it is for them to have a center full of exceptional reps, just based on the way their contract with Sprint/Nextel works. So, if you're a talented rep, and you're not interested in promotion (the floor supervisors make less then the top reps), they find any and all reason to fire you. Since oregon is an at-will state (no workers rights, you can be fire for any reason at any time). They just fire you the second you've been consistently doing well. Just make up a reason. If you get fired or even quit from this place, because of its business practices, they have to give you unemployment, legally a hostile work environment, because of the way it operates so don't count on a future with the company. However, if you need a quick buck, they'll hire anyone and training lasts five weeks. Just need 2 years of customer service experience (which you can lie about, they hire too many people to check) good luck.
