74th Street Ale house really can't be beat for moderately priced gourmet pub food. The ambiance is purposefully reminiscent of an English neighborhood pub. This is a neighborhoo...

TIP- Either add more help, or get nicer employees! (check out YELP reviews)\r \r My boyfriend and I went here for the first time yesterday. We experienced the worst service ever! It actually was the first time in my life that I did not tip the waitress. We waited 30 min to get our drinks, and did not actually receive them until we notified the waitress that four tables that came in after us had already received their food! Then once we placed our order, we asked for water...after 60 min we still did not receive any water. My boyfriend ordered two tacos, he requested some hot sauce....the waitress never returned. We had to flag down the bartender to actually get our bill. The waitress comp'd us one beer....but we will never return to this place due the the service! I was shocked. PS. We were no the only ones to experience this. There was a group of elderly folks behind us that experienced the same issues. They had to flag down the bartender to pay their bill...the same waitress never returned to them after providing them their plates of food. more

It's in the neighborhood and it's really good for a nice quick meal or if we don't happen to feel like getting in the car and driving somewhere for lunch or dinner. Been here for both lunch and dinner and even when they are busy the service is great. We've tried the Mediterranean plate (fresh made muhammara dip, a traditional Middle Eastern dip made from roasted red peppers, red fresnos, feta cheese, cumin, garlic and walnuts. Served with grilled pita bread and Greek salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, kalamata olives and feta cheese), the blackened salmon sandwich (fresh salmon filet is coated in our spicy Cajun pepper and herb mix then ""blackened"" in a hot skillet and baked in the oven. Served on organic French baguette with dijon mayo, tomatoes and lettuce) and the fish tacos (our fresh ""seasonal"" fish is marinated in chipotle chiles, garlic, lime juice and cilantro then pan seared and folded into a warmed flour tortilla with lime-cilantro sour cream, shredded cabbage and corn salsa. Served with a side of wild greens tossed in our zesty chipotle chile and orange vinaigrette) - all were fresh, delicious and recommended. more
