Hole-in-the-Wall Heaver 9/30/2002

What a wonderful little nook to explore in Hawthorne! The best part about this place (next to the understated-elegance, chic-ambience you'd expect from a pricier place in Hawthorne) is the food....the most INCREDIBLE food. Lots of seafood treasures on the menu, but I headed for the MEAT. The glazed pork tenderloin was succulent and tender, so tender I could cut it with my fork, and spiced just right. A lovely port with my confection of choice provided the perfect finish to a perfect evening. Pros: Great ambience, Incredible food, Personable servers Cons: Difficult parking, No lobby, Smallish menu more

Best Food In The Rose City! 8/27/2002

3 Doors Down has the best cuisine in Portland. It's small and too noisy to be overly romantic, but the food is out of this world. Service is wonderful and the desserts match their wonderful meals as well. Just make sure to call a head of time and get listed so you don't wait in line for a couple hours. more

Some of the best Italian in Portland! 8/5/2002

Once we found 3 Doors Down and it was our turn to be seated (no reservations), we realized it was worth the wait. Absolutely delicious! More food than we were able to eat, plus, a great wine selection. A little over-crowded inside was the only drawback. Pros: Food, Wine, Cozy Cons: Long wait, Crowded more

Perfect Neighborhood Spot 7/25/2002

Regardless of what neighborhood you call ""home"", you'll always feel at home at 3 Doors Down. Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful staff (you know you've ""arrived"" when they recognize your face and know your name). Impecable wait staff that knows when you need them and when you don't. Yet, nothing stuffy or snooty about this place...just good food! more

All the Way From Hotlanta 7/25/2002

Traveling across the country is well worth the trip as long as I stop in to see Dave & Kathy at 3 Doors Down! I ate there nearly every evening when I visited Portland, and tried something new each meal. I was more that satisfied with each tantalizing selection, and amazed at the portions served, to perfection. 3 Doors Down is always at the top of my 'Places to See' list every time I visit, and my top recommendation to any friends traveling to Portland! Pros: Excellent Entrees, Attentive Staff Cons: Need to Expand more

Hawthorne hideaway 5/21/2002

I've only dined here once, but I still recall the wonderful pasta dish I had, with a creamy sauce and green garlic. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and intimate. We went for a late dinner during the week so it wasn't very busy, but I can see how the wait could be long. We enjoyed ourselves very much, and will definitely go back. Pros: attentive service, moderately priced Cons: small space more
