After feeling a little rushed the last time my husband and I had dinner at 3 Doors Down, I sent the restaurant a letter describing our experience. They promptly replied with the nicest and most polite apology/response one could imagine. Thank you 3DD -you know what customer service is all about!!! We will be back soon! A wonderful experience for all 2/20/2003

As a former server I rank Valentines day right up there with Mothers Day as the day that I would least likely wish to dine out (or work at a restaurant). My friend talked me into going to 3 Doors Down on Sat night and while I was initially dismayed at the wait, I was subsequently impressed by every aspect of my dining experience. Our pre-dinner cocktails were wonderful, the service was crisp and attentive, the wine list extensive and the food was absolutely out of this world. I will definitely return with friends. Pros: the food, the value, the service Cons: bit noisy more

Great value, wonderful service and ambiance too! I enjoyed the bean spread served with the bread as well as the salad with toasted almonds. My husband had the penne with vodka sauce and saugage. He said it was good, though a bit spicy for some. My stuffed prawns were slightly overdone, but overall the meal was well presented and worth trying again. Pros: Reasonably priced, Romantic, Attentive service Cons: Can be crowded, Hard to find parking, Chilly by the door more

Just about everything was outstanding. From soup through appatizer, main course and dessert. I moaned like Graham Kerr in delight with every bite. The Grouper main course topped off all that came before. The service was wonderful and well timed. We had a GREAT time here being taken care of and served by really nice people. The only thing was that place is quite noisy. Regardless, the decor was really cool, down to the water glasses. Their call ahead style of reservations worked well for us. Pros: Delightful food, Terrific staff, Great portions Cons: Noisy more

I have been here twice and both times the food was outstanding. So far it is my favorite place to dine for a nice meal in Portland. The menu seems to change with the seasons and they have a few consistent items. The quality and the flavor the food is great. It can be a wait for a table and you would want to plan to take some time when you go because it is not a fast paced meal where you are in and out. Pros: good service, great value the $$$ Cons: Crowded, Long wait for table more

The chicken with caramelized onions pasta dish was heavy, but very good. The cod-potato appetizer is also recommended. Wine selection, service, and prices were more than adequate. A little gem of a place that's no longer undiscovered. Cons: No reservations, No lunch more
