Review content:
wow. totally blown away by the lack of accountability for the defective products they sell. tried to take a video camera back, with the blessing of the store manager from another location who sold it to me (and assured me it was mac compatible). First attempt: 2 days after i returned from my trip, (2 days before the 30 day guarantee ran out) I was told to ""come back in 45 minutes"" insert frazzled man throwing arms up in the air proclaiming ""we're understaffed!"". Second try, ""call this guy at the la brea location, he'll help you with the camera"". This person gave me instructions to download some bootleg program to get it to work. Said bootleg program crashed my mac, and cost me $460.00 in repairs. Professional editors - by trade - informed me the camera was likely defective, and that anyone representing a store such as radio shack, who directs you to download unauthorized software for a product THEY sold you, is a moron. At this point it is past the 30 day guarantee, i have no footage, but was told they would ""waive the 30 day thing and LET me exchange it."" This coming from the GM Dan Guiterrez, who clearly doesn't care that his employee is sending people out of the store due to inadequate staffing, or of the financial repercussions to his unvalued customers. Despite providing the product in excellent physical condition with all it original packaging, and purchase documentation, and repeated attempts prior to the guarantee running out, i'm out almost a 1,000 for a crapy 178.00 camera. with all the accessories and extra warrantee, cost to repair computer, cost to have various IT types try unsuccessfully to retrieve the footage of an entire 3 week trip, and of course all the footage that's what i'm looking at. Where is the customer service? Don't you want to take good care of your customers who buy all the extras, instead of just stopping in for headphones and batteries? don't know if you can't trust radio shack, or their house brands, or just this location, but i will NEVER EVER be a radio shack customer EVER again. sad. shop at your own risk, you've been warned. Don't come back in 45 minutes. p.s. the brand new camera i bought, still has the first 5 minutes of footage on it. some drunk kids fooling around on the street. they must live in the box.
