Businiess name:  RoSal's Italian Kitchen

Review content:
St. Louis Missouri and Boston Mass have the BEST Italian food---hands down. No kidding. I had been searching the city for GOOD tasty grandmas cookin' italian in Chicago. Not the fancy schmancy or the ""concept"" italians that keep popping up all over the place. I happended to stumble upon the restaurant off of open table. Just did a search for affordable and something that looked kid friendly. I wasn't expecting much. Wow--what an unexpected find. The servers are all very warm and friendly--honestly, like family. The food is exceptional--from the crisp and fresh house salad. You can tell that the owner is VERY particular about his/her produce. They get the best (and in the middle of winter). Just plain yummy. And our entrees--fabulous. I had the pasta with shrimp, spinach and tomato. Awesome. The shrimp was perfectly cooked so that it was just succulent--and the tomatoes were sauteed perfectly. Wow. My husband had the pasta with chicken, peas and proscuitto. We had a favorite at a place in St. Louis that served the same pasta--this blew it away. We were just pleased all around. Yes, the service is PAINFULLY slow--we have a 2.5 year old that wanted OUT. BUT--take a look at that kitchen. It is the size of my college bathroom--just tiny. Give them a break. Yes, parking is a pain--but so is just about everywhere in the city AND they DO have a valet. We liked the bread---it isn't spectacular but it is pretty darn good---better than most places. I'd give it a 9/10. For the price and what you get---this is a great value. We are all the way up in Glenview and plan to return on a fairly regular basis. I think thats saying something!!!!!!!!! Pros: Great food, nice people, good value Cons: slow preparation, parking
