I first met Art back in the early-mid 80s when he set up a genuine ""EVH Frankenstrat"" that I came by as a basketcase. He turned it into my prized possesion and favorite player until it was stolen. He also did a replacement bridge on my Alvarez Yairi doubleneck acoustic that you couldn't tell wasn't original to it.
Art is THE master! We spoke for far longer than he needed to and was just a wonderful guy. He shared stories of all the guys he had done work for and had nice things to say about everyone, from Clapton, Gene Simmons, Charro... I wish I could have recorded it cause he IS music history!
I Haven't been there in years, but I think of him all the time. The man should have his own STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
