If you are wanting to adopt an animal you should check out Bishop shelter. They offer either tattoing or computer chipping to ensure that even if your animal wanders off you will be able to get it back. They try their best to find every animal a home. I have adopted several animals from here over the years, they are well kept and healthy animals. I would recommend this to anyone that isnt looking for a high end pet.
