Big Lots is one of those stores that you have to frequent a lot in order to find a real gem. But, the visits are worth it. They have a very big variety of things - from toys, food, furniture, cleaning supplies, kitchen, and even clothes.
Make sure to check out this store's ethnic and "gourmet" section. I've been able to find quality jarred roasted peppers here for 1/3 of the price of HEB or Central Market.
This is an excellent store for recent graduates who need the essentials and don't have much money to spend. They also have the regular Dollar Store items for the same price but it's a much cleaner store than most of those stores.
