The Asgard is a cheesy Irish Pub in the heart of Central Square. It's located near the Star Market and University Park hotel near MIT. The pub is frequented by both MIT grad students and random cambridge residents. Beer prices are not cheap--expect to pay six to eight dollars for a glass of Bass or whatever beer you're looking for.
They serve dinner at this place too. You can get food that is classic american fare. You'll find many different choices of pub food including burgers (around 6 bucks) and shepard's pie.
