One of my neighbors kept recommending her contractor, and it looked like he did a nice job on her kitchen, so I gave him a call. She warned me: he's surly. He's gruff. He swears like a sailor. But I got a good vibe from him--he seemed like he cared about doing a good job (not to please me, mind you, but because he's just that kind of guy). So we went with W.D. Andrews, and I can't say enough good things about him. He's a real craftsman--conscientious, reliable, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. And as for the surly thing, that's never been a problem--below the gruff interior lies the heart of a creampuff. I shudder to think what my house would be like right now if we'd gone with our other bid! He's a stand-up guy who will do a teriffic job for a fair price. You can't ask more than that.
