At the request of her family doctor, I took my 96-year-old mother to the emergency room in pain with both legs red and inflamed with a skin bacterial infection. I arrived around 7:00 PM and she was not taken in until 3:30 AM. She had to be admitted and when my son left at 6:00 AM to go to work, she was still in the emergency room waiting for a hospital room.
