I belong to a membership massage chain and have found that at best the massages are "hit and miss". One out of two or three are so-so or just not good. When I add in the cost of the massges I didn't like, it really isn't cheap at all!! I shared this with one of my kids' mom and she told me she went to StressBusters where every single massage she'd gotten was excellent and suggested I check them out. On her referral, I went and experienced the same thing. I've now gone four times; have seen four different therapists and had a great massage every time. Their price is still good; if a little higher than the membership chain, but I know I will get a high quality massage every time.
